NEVER USE WOODIES- ZERO RATING I have always owned Mercedes Benz and Woodies on Charlottetown Ave was my go to for several years. I would also recommend them to other Mercedes owners as they did great work at a great cost. HOWEVER, this recently changed with the last two visits. I only needed a battery replaced and headlight replaced in December 2024, and they charged me $850 for the services. I thought this cost was extremely high as I was only asking that the battery be replaced. But because I was a faithful customer, I had my car towed to them again in February to replace a damaged side air intake tube. The car was making a popping sound, so instead of driving it, I had it towed to Woodies. The tow truck driver had already told me that this should be minor and only cost around $100 to replace the tube. HOWEVER, Woodies called me and told the me the cost would exceed $2900. I was outraged and told them I only wanted the tube replaced and their response was that the tube was not a separate part and that the entire top of the engine had to be replaced. I declined the service and had the vehicle towed to the MERCEDES Dealership. The dealership was able to replaced the tube the the total charge for repairing my car was $106. NEVER AGAIN Will I use Woodies Auto Service. Woodies also charged me $186 for the bogus diagnostic that had to be paid before they released the car. NEVER NEVER AGAIN

My first time trying this place for car inspection and their customer service was excellent will definitely recommend to friends and family and come back myself. I’m huge on customer service and that’s hard to come by these days so this was so appreciated, it’s the simple things.

We took our car to get the tire fixed. They replaced the wrong tire. Then said. Well that tire looked bad, even though it wasn’t the one that had low pressure. Refused to refund the Wrong tire and then said well we can just patch the tire. Now. After all this, and almost $400 later, my tire is still flat! Now they won’t answer their phone. Never go to this location.

I live nearby the Charlottetowne Avenue location and regularly take my car there. They have been effective at keeping an old car (1994) running. The staff are professional and friendly, and they communicate well about problems and options for service.

Absolutely Awful Experience - Avoid at All Costs I took my car to Woodie’s Auto Service on Charlottetown Ave. on October 4th due to a vibration in the engine. They diagnosed the issue as bad motor mounts and recommended changing the spark plugs, air filters, and drive line fluid, for a total of $1,900. I trusted them and agreed to the repairs. They assured me the issue was fixed, and I picked up my car that evening. However, on my way home, I noticed the vibration was still there. When I checked under the hood, the sound was exactly the same. I returned to Woodie's before they closed, only to be told that all mechanics had already left, so I would have to come back Monday. This left me without a working car for the entire weekend. When I returned Monday morning, the same mechanic who supposedly "fixed" the vibration admitted he could hear it right away. Turns out, the real issue was the alternator, which should have been diagnosed from the start. They couldn’t get the part that day, meaning I had to wait until Tuesday for my car. I asked them to waive the labor charges due to their misdiagnosis and the inconvenience caused, but they refused. They only offered a small discount on the part, which barely made up for the hassle. On Tuesday, after they replaced the alternator and serpentine belt, I drove home, thinking the ordeal was finally over. But by Thursday, the belt they installed came unraveled, wrapping around the radiator fan. Clearly, they either installed it incorrectly or used a faulty part. My car had to be towed back to their shop. At first, they offered no compensation, then just 2 free oil changes, which was insulting after everything I’d gone through. I requested a full refund for the labor ($1,100), but they refused. When I asked for the owner’s number, they gave me the accountant’s, who was baffled as to why they directed me to him. I still haven’t heard from the regional manager. This place is a nightmare. They don't do quality work, they don’t stand by their repairs, and they take advantage of customers who aren’t car experts. I will never go back, and I highly recommend that you avoid this shop at all costs.

…First time at this location…. Easy to schedule and easy drop-off and pick up. Great folks as usual for Woodies. The only reason for 4 not 5 was that I didn’t receive a call to let me know the car was ready…..even after I got the technician report by text. Car was in fact ready when I got time to call and check on status.

Found a nail in my tire on the way into work on Friday. Woodie’s was able to fit me in for a patch at the last minute and were so kind and courteous.

Got me in quickly and did good work. Only drawback is the price is on the high side, and their pricing is not very transparent. Although I got a detailed list of recommended repairs, I did not receive the quote in writing (only verbal), and the prices are not posted on their website or in store. In summary, I found their work to be quite good and probably worth the cost, I just wish they offered more price transparency.

Made an appointment to drop my car off at 8am. When I arrived I was told they did not have any technician available to look at my car—they had the day off. The excuse was the employee booking appointments the previous week was just “filling in” so presumably he just wasn’t properly trained? Or didn’t know what he was doing? Not sure how that’s supposed to be an acceptable excuse. I rearranged my entire work morning around dropping my car off and it was a complete waste of time. Once you opened the office this morning why didn’t you look through your upcoming appointments and call me to let me know we’d need to reschedule rather than letting me show up before you told me? Unfortunate because I live in the area and could have been a repeat customer, but I will not visit again.

Woodys did their usual excellent job. Thorough, efficient, communicative and while pointing out the problem areas, never suggesting a given service unless it’s needed. They categorize amongst all items that are good, need watching and need immediate attention. Patrick and Dana (Charlottetown location) are the best. I’ve been in Charlotte for three years and trust Woodys with the care of our Mercedes E350 and Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

They seem like nice people, but the quote I got over the phone for a brakes job turned out to only be for one axle, so I ended up paying more than double what I expected. 2 stars instead of 1 because I think the job was at least done correctly.
