The folks are always so accommodating and prompt I appreciate the recommendations as well. Overall I’m very pleased with the service and prices!

45 min in line just to drop off my car after I ordered a set of tires. Never coming back.

Jan 06, 2025

Overall has not been a great experience and still waiting on my car to be finished for a two tire replacement (which was interesting because I dropped the vehicle to replace a blowout, mysteriously another tire was discovered with a puncture and also required replacement). Vehicle was dropped at 12pm for my appointment yesterday December 17th and it’s very clear that an appointment means nothing. I was notified 4 hours later after I had to call for a status update that the 2nd tire picture was discovered. I was told the 2nd tire would not be in until this morning (December 18th) and that my vehicle would be the first vehicle serviced. Called twice this morning after the shop had been open for hours without update. First call I was told confidently that my vehicle was done and that he needed to double check. From there I was left on hold for 25 minutes and had to call back again, only to be told my vehicle was now just being tended too and that they’ll call back when the tire replacement is complete…. Customer service is non existent, zero communication from the shop on my vehicle and constantly have to pester the staff for any sort of update. A mysterious second tire puncture and I’ve now been without my vehicle for 24 hours over a tire replacement. Praying to receive my vehicle today without any further issues.

Wheel Works has been at the same location for decades, and people working there are very friendly. As woman, I always worry about getting bad deals when I bring my car to repair. But this place, I can relax as they seem honest, sincere, respectful, and cares about my needs and don't try to over-sell. Maybe that's why they're always soooo busy....

I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, and my recent experience reaffirmed why I keep coming back. The team here is always accommodating, even when I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, and my recent experience reaffirmed why I keep coming back. The team here is always accommodating, even when I don't have an appointment. They genuinely go above and beyond to take care of my vehicle, whether it's for warranty work or routine maintenance under my prepaid lifetime warranty. What impresses me most is their unwavering commitment to quality service, even for services that don't generate additional revenue. I trust them completely, and I see how well they treat every vehicle they service with the same level of care. I'd also like to commend Steve and Chu for their excellent customer service. Despite the busy atmosphere —with multiple phone calls and a high volume of cars—it's clear they always prioritize customer care. Their ability to juggle these demands while still making each customer feel valued is remarkable. I don't have an appointment. I’ve been coming to Wheel Works for years, and I always get excellent service. I was worried after some recent reviews but sounds like some people have unrealistic expectations (especially BMW guy). This time I was met by Steve who provided excellent service. I had my front and back brakes replaced, a fuel injection service, and a seasonal tire swap. Everything was done efficiently and with great care. I trust Steve and the team to keep my car in great shape, and they never disappoint. Highly

Super easy, simple, and quick. Plus, they did an extra inspection of the car that went above the standard dealership services for $10. Tires are working great also!

These guys helped me out with air in my tires 10 mins before close on Sunday. Jason was super kind and helpful, even during a big rush. Huge thanks to these guys and their great service!

Very very unfriendly

Had my car towed to WW after getting a flat tire at work. It was after 5p and they were extremely busy. They still managed to fix my flat and gave great service with a smile. 100% recommend them for future services!

I came in from a road trip with an unidentified issue with my car. It turned out to be the Axel needed to replaced. I needed this done urgently and on the road within a day. Steve was very helpful in diagnosing the issue and then ensuring it was done to suit my timeframe. I was most appreciative of the service.

Nov 06, 2024

Said they had a policy where they can only replace 2 tires at a time, but we told them we just replaced the other tire at the dealership and wanted to bring the adjacent tire up to spec, but they wanted to upsell us a tire to replace our literally brand new tire. Awful rude customer service as well, literally go anywhere else and I hope this location fails.

Thanks to SHAUN for the great customer service!

Always helpful and informative. Wheel works is my place to go for tires. Fred and Steve at the San Francisco wheel works on Van Ness St. are excellent! And a shout out to Giovany, who I dealt with in the past.

Been a regular at Wheel Works San Francisco. Staff are all professionals and accommodating. Thanks to Tommy for doing the inspection as a walk-in.

Oct 06, 2024

I was referred to Wheel Works by a friend, and I have been pleased from the first visit, to getting a new set of tires, and now with ongoing oil services and maintenance. The staff are always very friendly and in good spirits. Terrific value and convenience for the money.

Oct 06, 2024

Steve, Cai and the entire crew are awesome! Great service , always!

Oct 06, 2024

They fit me in on short notice, accommodated my request to add an alignment halfway through a tire change, and got my car completely turned around in just a couple of hours.

Oct 06, 2024

great deal on tires, friendly, honest, professional, definitely recommend them and I am definitely going back

Oct 06, 2024

I had a disappointing experience at Wheel Works. I went in with a flat tire, and rather than fixing it, they insisted on replacing it. Initially, I was quoted $328 for the replacement, which seemed reasonable, so I agreed. However, after discussing further with a different manager, the price mysteriously jumped to $388 without a clear explanation for the increase. Furthermore, I was told my car would be ready by 10 AM. After waiting until the afternoon with no updates, they finally informed me at 3 PM that they couldn’t specify when my car would be ready. This lack of professionalism and transparency is unacceptable. I strongly advise against using their services based on my experience.

I had a really bad experience by the welcoming/ checkin person.

I have been coming to Wheel Works of San Francisco in Franklin St. for years now and I’m very happy with the quality of work . The service agents are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had been going to other wheel works tire shops before but the service agents were not helpful and not knowledgeable enough and they asked me to call to follow up on my car and either hang up on me and gave me an excuse or an attitude. I don’t live near by Wheel Works of Franklin St. but it’s worth the drive to a shop that you know what to expect it’s quality work on your car and knowledgeable service agents and the owner is very friendly to. Thank You Wheel Works of S. F. Franklin St.

I used to love this place. I went here many times, I bought tires here several times. This time I went there because I had a flat tire, they told me that my tire was too old and that it wasn’t repairable. The lady told me I needed to buy all 4 tires for $1,800. My two back tires are newer since they were replaced 12 months ago. I understand that sometimes tires are not repairable and in that case they usually sell me 2 tires, unless all tires are not usable anymore. New ones in the back and old ones in the front. I said no to the lady and I went to pick up my car. When I went to pick up the car, the gentleman at the desk told me that I could just buy 2 tires and apologized for the “misunderstanding”. I went to a different place and tire was fixed. I didn’t have to spend $1,700 for all tires as the lady was pushing it. It was repaired for $50. Be skeptical when going to this place.

It’s a busy shop and the guys all work hard to ensure everything is moving along for the customers. I appreciate not feeling like they’re trying to add more services than necessary. Thank you!

Sep 06, 2024

They get the job done. I have always been happy with the service provided and appreciate the professionalism. It is not warm and fuzzy with perky people which I have experienced in other chain shops but I just want to get the car fixed. Wheel Works has been professional and got my car out the door at the time promised!

Wheel Works is a great tire shop, always professional and courteous, shout out to Kai!

I really like this shop. Other reviewers emphasize WW's intent on upsell, but I see it more as a focus on safety. For instance, my recent car purchase I was getting a speed wobble and took it to them to see if it was alignment, but it was simply old tires. Sure enough, the records with the vehicle showed they were bought in 2010. They also pointed out things to prepare for in the future, provided photos and explained anticipated costs. And they always top up the windshield wiper fluid.. it's just a nice touch.

I was only planning on going to get my oil changed and my tires rotated (with my lifetime purchase made four years ago). Then I was slapped with a $22 multi-point inspection fee (WITHOUT BEING ASKED). Also, the salesman also involuntarily forced me to make a $1 Boys and Girls Club donation (WITHOUT MY CONSENT). I brought in my vehicle at 9:00 am (first in line) and didn’t get my vehicle back until 4:51 pm (minutes before closing time). They did however call me and told me that my Oil valve cover gasket’s was leaking and had to be fixed; and that my battery was going bad. I decided to only fix the gasket only. Also, the next day when I drove my car, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System light was flashing, then stayed on. I think the mechanics might have done something and made my TPMS system malfunction. I checked my tire pressure to be sure it wasn’t low. After I’m done with this set of tires, I will not purchase anymore tires here since I don’t want to do my tire rotations here again.
