My daughter’s car needed some work. Called these guys because they accepted her Warranty. Handled everything. Brandon and Miranda were top notch. Will be using them for our regular maintenance now and anything automotive. Highly recommend this place!!!

I highly recommend West Automotive Group as they do their best to service my 2010 Subaru Forester. I normally go to the Escondido location, but their smog tech was not available today. They took my vehicle to West Miramar and it was tested and passed. I appreciate the service because I neglected to get the smog check before my registration expired. The Miramar and Escondido locations made everything good. I have been going to West Escondido for at least 15 years and can't say enough good things about them.

I was most impressed that they honored their warranty! Not only did they diagnose my hybrid Prius, they also fixed it and added gas before giving it back to me only two days later. Almost for free! They have multiple locations but still had records of me getting my car fixed there almost a year ago…I’m glad I made the right choice. I’ll keep giving them my business from now on. And with the advent of more hybrid and electric cars, they have proven themselves to be a great asset. Ask for Brandon, the manager, and you won’t regret it!

I’ve taken my car here a few times for different repairs over the years and they have been great overall. However my last visit was less satisfactory. I brought the car in for a suspension related noise. The shop initially insisted the issue was with the upper strut and quoted me like $2,000 for the repair. I don’t have much experience with cars, but after some research, I (a biology major) was able to diagnose and fix the problem myself with a $30 replacement ball joint and some tools. While I don’t believe they were trying to scam me, I was disappointed by their inability to properly diagnose the problem and have not gone back. People were friendly and seemed genuine, hence the 3 star rating. (Also please don’t respond with my specific car model and personal information like you have been doing with other posts.) Just as a response, I think that I would have appreciated more clarity in my options. Yes my car is old, and yes it has a good amount of rust, but to me it felt like this was just an excuse to suggest replacing existing suspension parts rather than digging deeper. Looking up the problem online was pretty trivial, ball joints are know to go bad prematurely on my car, and the symptoms perfectly matched the description. I’m pushing 30k miles since the repair, and have brought it in for yearly servicing and have not had anyone mention needing to replace suspension parts (This doesn’t mean you guys were wrong). Also my main complaint is still the fact that the bad ball joint was never mentioned to me! I would have expected that the main issue for which I brought my car in for would have been brought to my attention, especially considering the fee for looking at the car was like 100$.

This shop not only tries to upsell on tons of parts, but they outright lied about the condition of my serpentine belt and said it was cracked and needed to be replaced. I had another shop look at the belt and they said it was looked brand new and there is no point in replacing it. West Miramar also quoted a repair on my suspension at ~$1600, where the other shop only quoted ~$800, and the other shop is ASE certified, unlike this shop.

Very satisfied with the work that was done on my 1972 Dodge Challenger's transmission. They also adjusted timing and completed basic maintenance. Brandon treated me like I was family. Great service. I fully recommend.

Good auto mechanics you can trust. The dealer eventually gave up on my car's stalling problem after trying many solutions. To be fair, they figured out the problem but were not able to find a final solution. West Auto did! It took some time and creative thinking but they've solved the problem and my car is running great! And it wasn't an exorbitant cost, either. Highly recommend them!

I had a wonderful experience at Western Automotive and transmission they were able to sort out an issue with my air conditioning unit on my vehicle by finding a small leak that was very hard to detect. The mechanics answered all my questions and went out of their way to explain the issue to me and detail and make me feel comfortable about what my options were for getting it repaired. This is a very professionally run business by two gentlemen that always answers the phone on a positive note they are considerate about your schedule and offer a free Drop off and pick up so you do not have to stay and wait for your car. I will definitely be using their service in the future and would recommend the shop to anybody that needs expertise on AC units and transmissions in general car repair.

I've been a customer for couple of years at West Miramar Automotive & Transmission. Today I went for an oil change at 7:39 am. Came back to get my car at 1:12pm. Paid $112 for a Synthetic Oil Change. Last time I went there for a Synthetic oil Change was $100. My concern was the Cabin Air Filter which they inspected and removed. Luckily, I went to Autozone to replace my cabin air filter. I found out that the old air filter was never put back! Not sure how they missed to put the cabin air filter back on which they have several hour's to change oil and inspect the vehicle. Picture below is where they sent me an update for my car. The photo above shows an empty air filter when I opened the Glove Box. Unprofessional work and expensive prices, can't justify this by any means.This is my last time going to West Miramar Automotive and Transmission.

Very unhappy with the service. I was overcharged for getting freeon to recharge for my air conditioning unit with dye and diagnostics was almost $600. Other shops quoted me less than half that. Worst part about it, I still have an issue and going to have to take it somewhere to take care of it.

This shop not only eased my worry but provided me with the quality customer service by answering my questions honestly. I got an estimate for the work needed without surprise or feel of doubt. Paul and team took good care of us when we broke down unexpectedly on the highway and had AAA tow us there. Great service completed quickly and has AAA 10 percent discount. Conveniently next to gas station and car wash as well.

Use caution for an extremely pricey shop that does not break down how many hours of labor goes into your vehicles repair. Staff are standoffish when you try to mention any concerns as it seems like they only want your money.

Horrible service. Charged me $150 just to tell me it costs $13,000 to fix my car. Definitely those car shops that overcharge you especially if you look inexperienced, young, or a girl. They swear they do you a favor by “discounting” $50 off but $200+ for a diagnostic already sounds absurd. I also spoke to other mechanics and they offered me ~$3,000-4,000 to fix my problem with the car. $13,000 is definitely overpriced. If a man had came with me, I’m sure it would be a different situation. Horrible place to go if you’re someone who doesn’t have thousands just to have a working car. Their motto “We Never Put Money Ahead of People” is a scam. :)
