My daughter suffered a tire blowout while at Pitt and I had it towed to Walter's because of the high rating and reviews. Probably one of the best customer services I have ever experienced. Being a dad 380 miles away, it was a tough position to be in, but he was professional, courteous, understanding and very reasonable. I highly recommend!

When I moved to Pittsburgh in 2003 and needed an auto mechanic, I asked several people for recommendations, and I heard the same thing over and over, “Go to Tim at Walters on Baum. He is the best and totally trustworthy.” I have been going to Tim exclusively for the last 21 years, and he has proven those recommendations true over and over again. I have a Scion xB, and he has kept it purring along since I bought it in 2006. I have never had a mechanic that I trusted like I do Tim, and, as a 74-year-old woman that means a lot!!! (He is also smart and funny!)

A car hit me while me and my buddy where going on a trip before I left for the marines. we made it to phily and we thought we gonna have to end the trip because the tire was getting rubbed bytge metal that git damaged and we went to Walter asked for some help he help us gave us the tools to use to fix it free of charge he didnt even want to take a tip greates guy ever saved our whole trip.

Walter's Automotive is the only place I will ever confidently recommend to everyone. He is honest, and fantastic at his job. There is often a wait to get an appointment because everyone knows if you want your car fixed by an experienced mechanic who will tell you the truth and charge you fairly, Walter's is the place to go. Well worth it to book early or wait if you can!

Walter's is everything you could want in a car service shop: friendly, honest, reasonably priced, and they do great work. Tim has even been able to fix my car on short notice a couple times despite being booked up. I highly recommend them.

This is the best review I can possibly give for a service station: they fix what is broken for a fair price, and don't find things to "fix" that didn't need repair in the first place. This is an honest, trustworthy, reputable old-school service station.

Walter is a great guy, super honest and fairly quick with work. I’ve had my car into his shop a few times since moving to Pittsburgh and I’ve been nothing but satisfied with his work. State inspection and exhaust test seemed a bit pricy but I’m not from PA originally so I have no bench mark to compare it to.

Maybe the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and they do great work for fair prices. All that, plus they were able to fit me in when I didn’t have an appointment. Would highly recommend.

I've been going to Walter's for my inspections for the last few years and I've always had a good experience. I set my appointment around 3-4 weeks in advance so I've never had an issue with not being able to get in. At my last inspection, my brake pads needed to be replaced but the rotors were still fine (they had been replaced more recently than the brake pads). They easily could have said that both needed to be replaced to charge me more for the inspection but they didn't. They also communicated with me multiple times throughout the day regarding the status of the inspection, the timeline of the needed repairs, and were able to get everything done before 1pm. Even though I've moved further away from Walter's, I will continue to use them for my inspections.

Tim and his staff are some of the kindest and most generous people I've ever met. We had a very complicated situation with a vehicle and Tim was incredibly patient with the whole process. He took great care to make sure the vehicle was thoroughly checked and everything was fixed up. He even offered that AAA may have been able to give us a better price for a battery. He's a truly good person who looks out for others and tries to help out each of his customers. He's a rare gem and Pittsburgh is lucky to have him.

Been going here for years for our 19 Mazda and 99 Honda accord. They have been amazing at helping keep both vehicles running smoothly without problems. They do great work, are quick, and easy to do business with. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great team to take care of any needs for your car
