Valvoline Instant Oil Change

False promises, Lack of communication & prioritization. Been going to this location for about 2 years for oil changes and tire rotations. I decided to get a oil change/tire rotation 3 weeks ago elsewhere to see if I could save some money. It was communicated to me by this different autoshop that upon inspection the lug nuts on my drivers side were seized due to them being overtorqued and that they felt removing them would break the studs. They told me to go to who worked on my tires last and adress the issue. After being given a pretty expensive quote I decided to go back to valvoline since they were the last people that worked on my car. It was a Tuesday when I went and after initially speaking with the assistant manager It seemed like I was going to be taken care of. They gave me a card to a auto shop in Poway that would look at my tires and fix the damages. I went to the Poway mechanic that Thursday right when they opened to drop off my car. After waiting at home for hours I got a call from Valvoline communicating that the lug nuts on both rear tires were seized as well. The price of the quote not only doubled (>$600) but the assistant manager told me that they would only cover the front wheel since that's all the first mechanic mentioned on the invoice. Valvoline believes that the first mechanic i went to is at fault even though the invoice indicated that they did not remove the tires at all. At that point I felt like I was being taken advantage of by someone and told the assistant manager no to taking care of the repair that day. I went back to Valvoline the following day (Friday) and spoke with the manager and told him I'm not paying for a mistake I feel they made. He told me they hadn't ruled out taking care of me but they wanted to investigate the first mechanic I went to by seeing camera footage. Deciding to be fair, I told him ok on proceeding with an investigation. He told me he'd have an update for me by that upcoming Monday. I received a small update Wednesday via the manager telling me that they got a hold of the camera footage but for whatever reason they wanted audio as well and told me to keep waiting for an update. I didn't understand why audio was so important when all they needed to see was if my back tires were touched/removed. I never got an update after this. I went to valvoline 3 days later (Saturday) to see what was up and all they told me was that they were no longer apart of the situation but the area manager (Andrew) would take the lead. The Mira Mesa manager (Terel) only gave me a number for customer care, not a number to contact Andrew. After waiting for the weekend to be over and the entire upcoming workweek I received no update. I finally got frustrated enough and called customer care. I was told I would recieve a call from Andrew within 2 business days and now that it's been 5 business days later and not hearing from anyone I'm here to tell you that it would be in your best interest to get your auto care done elsewhere. This isn't just about 1 location but the company as a whole. Their lack of communication only makes them look unprofessional and more guilty in my eyes. It makes me question whether Terrel was telling me the truth about the camera footage, it makes me question Andrew's position as an area manager within the company if my issue is of little importance to him and it makes me question Valvoline's business practices as a whole because it feels like they're dragging this problem out in hopes that I just give up. I've been more patient with this company than I've wanted to be, but this is ridiculous waiting more than three weeks over an error of such a simple routine service. if the studs on a wheel break and a wheel comes off on the road ... Valvoline is who I'm blaming.

I asked for synthetic oil, the best. I feel like they put recycled oil in me! I immediately checked the oil after my RV, it was dark. Normally, synthetic oil is clear as water. And they didn't use the normal machine to put the oil in, it was a small transparent pipe... Weird.

I noticed that the Service person on top was thorough with all his checks and made sure the area was cleaned and topped off. The service was very fast and the team was very polite. Great job! I will be back to my nearest Valvoline shop.

I paid full price for a shitty job. They didn’t check break and coolant levels but yet they marked it ok. I found out 20 days later levels are below minimum.

The techs working on the car continuously did cross checks with each other during my (and other customers' services). Nothing was finalized without a cross-check. I was very impressed with the professionalism of all the techs.

Just make sure that you reminded them to take their tools out of the engine bay when closing the hood. Because the employee that previously worked on my vehicle didn’t realize and lied to me that it was nothing. When I completely confronted him and seen what he was doing the entire time of the oil change service. While being inside the vehicle, when my vehicle was being serviced. Normally I go to this Valvoline location and support my community and usually the service is descent. But my previous visit was really fast rushing me out and didn’t appreciate him lying to me about the incident when we had reopen the hood and realize it was the filter ratchet and quickly put it inside his pocket and closed my hood and just told me that I’m good to leave.

The staff was very courteous and upfront about services, yet the price wasn't worth it AT ALL. They charge you the same price as your local dealer for an oil that lasts 60% less. You can just go to your dealer and make a better deal. I will not come back.

Worst Valvoline location on the planet. Whatever you do, don’t go to this location. The manager there is straight out rude. I’ve had problems from screwing up an oil pan, not putting on my skid plate properly and spilling oil all over my engine. Today was the worst. Got a free coupon from their home office for a previous issue. The manager wouldn’t take it and when I got mad, he asked me to leave. Went to the other Valvoline closest to the freeway, and the manager totally took care of me. Was the best customer service I ever had.

The employees are friendly and have a cadence they work to. Just sit in your vehicle and they do everything else. This is my go to whenever I need my truck or my car serviced.

They are fast as advertised. However, I won't trust them beyond a simple oil change. They try to sell you pricey things. Last time, they replaced rear differential fluid for a dodge challenger. My car started to make noise during any turn, after the fluid change. I had to go to a mechanic and ended up redoing the service again at a dealership with a proper fluid and a modifier. I brought my concern to the manager (Alex), and after calling several times, he said everything is ok and they couldn't do anything and told me to do whatever I liked. That's not very professional to me, and I didn't expect that at all. Just be careful and prevent damaging your car😔 Update: I emailed, and there's no response after more than a week.fake gesture?

My service tech Tyler was very nice and patient with me, I came in for an oil top off and an odd noise today. He didn't find the noise but gave me a handful of ideas that it might be. The world needs more Tylers!

Courteous, professional and friendly staff. This is an affordable way to have your oil changed and receive safety checks and recommended services. there was no waiting the day I went in. the staff provided service, such as, all lights working, wiper check, air pressure, filters if needed, etc. They offer traditional oil or synthetic oil. The best part about this is once you drive into the service bay you can stay in the car for servicing.
