I just had the best service I’ve ever experienced at a Valvoline, thanks to the incredible team at this location! Huge shoutout to Onie, Jacob, Shomari, and Rilee for their professionalism, efficiency, and genuine friendliness. They made the whole process smooth and enjoyable, which isn’t something you can always say about getting your car serviced. Each team member went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right, and they even explained things in a way that was easy to understand. Kudos to this amazing crew—this Valvoline is truly in a league of its own! Highly recommend this location to anyone. I’m sad I don’t live in Hillsboro because I’d be returning for every oil change.

From the time I pull into the lot it is very clear that the staff respects my time. They give clear expectations on wait time and do as much as they can while I’m still in the queue to keep the process moving. They’re also incredibly personable and friendly while still being highly professional.

I went in to get an oil change and thought I'd also have my transmission fluid checked while I was there. When I arrived, I spoke to the team, who were all very friendly. I asked them to check my transmission fluid, and they told me it needed to be changed, so I gave them the go-ahead. As I waited, I heard someone in the bay ask for help, and since I was the only customer there, I assumed it was about my car. Not long after, the manager approached me and told me they weren’t going to charge me for the oil change, that they hadn’t completed the transmission change, and that I needed to put my car in neutral without starting it up because it would need to be towed. This caught me completely off guard—I had driven in with a perfectly working car, and now I was being told it wasn’t drivable. Naturally, I became upset, and things escalated to the point where they even called the police. I’m not sure what they told the police, but it added to an already frustrating situation. Then, another manager named AJ from a nearby location came over to help. He took a look under my car and explained that the oil filter was broken, which meant starting the car could have locked up the engine because it had no oil in it. This didn’t make sense to me since my car had been running fine and had only recently had its oil changed—at this same location. Instead of acknowledging their responsibility, they tried to blame me, saying it was because I hadn’t come in for an oil change sooner. After more back-and-forth, AJ suggested contacting a mechanic he knew, a guy named Steve, who would try to fix the issue. They towed my car to Steve’s shop, but because he had other customers, I had to wait until the next day for him to work on it. The following day, AJ kindly apologized and completed the transmission fluid change, while Steve replaced the oil filter and changed the oil. However, now my car has multiple warning lights flashing, including the check engine light and a tire pressure warning. At this point, I’m unsure what to do. I could take it back to Steve, but I would have to pay for additional repairs, even though this whole issue started with Valvoline’s handling. All I wanted was a simple oil and transmission fluid change, and instead, I’m left with a car that now has more problems than before.

The people who helped me were very friendly and informative about maintenance for my car without making me feel pressured to purchase anything additional. The service was quick which is always a plus when you have other errands.

Second time user of this location, and second time I have problems. First time, I needed oil and transmission fluid change, and one of these was not changed (forgotten). This time I came in without leaking oil, and exited with oil leaks discovered on parking immediately after the service. Both times I had to return to fix, this time they told that they could not discover a leak. Not sure they replaced the plug and filter gaskets properly. When coming to change oil, they immediately, without asking, go open air filter (breaking thread last time) and check battery. I do not like unsolicited intrusive service. I told myself to stay away last time but forgot and here is the result. I don't recommend this place and other places of the same franchise.

Technician failed to reinstall screws securing bottom cover plate and plastic trim cover to the vehicle. Upon reaching highway speed, bottom cover plate detached and dragged on ground, damaging the plate and plastic trim and creating a huge racket. When I returned to the shop the staff was sort of apologetic but they didn't have all the replacement screws and a retainer clip necessary to return vehicle to its pre-damaged condition. When I suggested that they order the screws and retainer clip and send them to me, the story changed: they then told me the two screws they couldn't replace have were never present on the vehicle. I find that hard to believe since they admitted they failed to install the other six or so screws. They could have offered to order the missing screws and ask me to come back in to have them installed or mailed them to me, but they did not. Nor did they offer any sort of other solution to address the situation. The manager never even came out of the pit at the end to conclude the interaction. Another tech just waved me out of the bay and that was it.

Quick, easy, and friendly staff. Didn't aggressively push for additional services but I appreciate the recommendations to keep my vehicle safe and taken care of, so that it's something I'm aware of for future visits.

Friendly staff, but between high prices, having one guy lean on my truck while the other guy poured in fresh oil and then printing a 3000 mile (manufacturer and other competitors say 7000 miles) sticker for a full synthetic oil change, I’ll go somewhere else for an oil change. Did discuss it with employee, company pushes that as the “safest” for preventive maintenance . Just happens to also line the company pockets.

Shomari was extremely personable and helpful. It was SO hot outside, 88+ degrees, I really don’t know how these folks work in this heat, especially over hot cars all day in their all black uniforms. They really, REALLY need to get their employees some fans. Even through the heat Shomari was very nice and took good care of my car. Get your employees some fans!!

The service technician was very rude, my car oil was fully synthetic, it should have printed a 5000 mile sticker, but it printed 3000 miles, the oil I changed was not normal oil, it should have been printed for 5000 miles, and they didn't check my car's lights. I will not change the oil in this shop anymore
