Update on the AC Repair Situation (Of review below Armanii Young) Let me clarify some things after reading his response to my review. I purchased a brand-new compressor myself because he tried to charge me $600 for one—a price far above market value. To start, he did not perform a free diagnostic as he claimed. I asked him to replace the compressor based on advice from my brother-in-law, a mechanic for over 30 yrs in Tracy, CA. As I couldn’t make the 8–10-hour drive to Tracy at the time. Referred by a co-worker I ended up here at Up&GO Auto Repair . After(Jose or Leo) replacing the compressor (without performing diagnostics), the air was only slightly cooler. He then checked the fuse box and claimed the issue might be a blown blower fuse, tweaking it and telling me to buy a replacement. He assured me it wasn’t a big issue. I called my brother-in-law, explained the situation, and he was immediately skeptical. He said it was odd that the mechanic replaced the compressor, charged for the job, and then shifted the blame to a blown fuse. Still, I bought the fuse, brought it back, and had him (Jose or Leo) replace it. Unsurprisingly, changing the fuse didn’t make a difference, and the AC still wasn’t working properly. My brother-in-law asked if the mechanic had properly serviced the compressor by clearing the lines, removing old refrigerant, and recharging the system. I told him I saw the mechanic (Jose or Leo) connect a refrigerant recovery machine and claimed he performed these steps. My brother-in-law wasn’t convinced and said something didn’t add up. At that point, I decided to leave it alone as the weather cooled, but I knew I’d eventually need to figure out why the AC wasn’t working. Fast forward to the holidays: I drove to Tracy, CA, where my brother-in-law took apart the compressor to investigate. He meticulously inspected the system and discovered there were no leaks in the hoses. Then, upon examining the compressor itself, he found it had NO PAG oil—a critical lubricant for the AC system to function efficiently. PAG oil keeps the system cool and prevents wear and tear on the compressor. This mechanic had completely skipped this essential step. The mechanic tried to blame the new compressor, saying, “We do not offer any warranty on self-provided parts, so if your AC stopped working, it’s most likely due to faulty online parts you provided or blown fuses.” While I understand there’s no warranty on self-provided parts, the issue WASN’T a faulty compressor or a blown fuse. The problem was that the mechanic never properly serviced the compressor by adding lubricant. As my brother-in-law explained, failing to do this is negligent and ensures the customer returns for further costly repairs. This mechanic also falsely accused me of calling him yelling and screaming—completely untrue. I only called because, in his own words, he said, “If you have any issues, feel free to call or come back.” Instead of taking accountability, he turned the situation around to make me seem like an aggressive customer, which is not only false but also slanderous. Additionally, his claim of performing a “free diagnostic” is laughable! How do you perform a diagnostic yet fail to identify the root issue or properly service the compressor? I feel it’s important to warn others about shady practices like this. Yes,times are tough for everyone, and this mechanic’s actions show a complete lack of care for customers by cutting corners, leaving out necessary steps, and hoping they return for more costly repairs. My advice? Do your research before trusting anyone to work on your vehicle. Ask questions, request proof of what they’ve diagnosed or done, and don’t hesitate to document everything with photos for your own records. This was a learning experience for me, and I’m grateful my brother-in-law caught the issue. Lesson learned: Always stay vigilant and be present when your vehicle is being worked on. This shop’s lack of professionalism and honesty/ transparency speaks volumes, specially when he chose to block my number that alone speaks for itself .

I brought my car here for an oil change and I was greeted by Jose who was very helpful the staff was great the place was clean they had my car in and out in about 20 minutes while the guys did the oil change Jose was doing the vehicle preventing maintenance inspection I really like their service I'll be back here again and I recommend it

This is a new shop good mechanic. I’ve used them before … four stalls. I would use him again. I would recommend him to friends. He is ASE certified … in the event. You can’t find him when you’re driving in the area. He’s really close to a Ross department store and tacos El Gordo restaurant

I am very impressed with the professionalism, cost and minimal amount of time it took to have my brake pads changed. They even diagnosed my other issue with my valve cover. I will DEFINITELY be back to see Jose and the team soon to have it repaired. Thank you guys!

**Warning: Avoid this shop at all costs--they're scammers who only care about taking your money!** Please be aware of this shop--they are scammers and seem more interested in taking your money than providing any real service. I'm sharing my experience so others don't fall victim. My AC stopped working, and they told me it might be the compressor. They said they needed to do a diagnostic test, which led to them replacing the compressor. Afterward, they told me the issue wasn't the compressor but actually a fuse. Despite this, they still charged me for replacing the compressor. When I initially asked how much it would cost to replace the compressor, they quoted me $950. I questioned the price since compressors usually run around $200. They said the part would cost over $600, with $340 for labor. I asked if I could buy my own compressor to save money, and they said yes. So I bought my own part and returned for them to install it. Then, just a month later, in July, the AC stopped working again--after they had installed the new compressor in June. I tried to call them back, but they said their work wasn't guaranteed since I hadn't bought the compressor through them, even though they had previously told me to come back if anything went wrong. When I tried to follow up again because the heat in my car was unbearable, I found out they had blocked my number. I had someone else call to confirm this, and yes, they had indeed blocked me. As a woman, I trusted them to help with my car, but they showed me exactly what kind of business they run by blocking me. I don't want others to fall into the same trap. Ladies, especially, beware of this shop and stay away from Jose or Fernando (if those are even their real names). Learn from my mistake and avoid this place at all costs. I'll attach the invoice once I find it, but for now, I've attached the charge for the labor from my card so you can see this isn't just made up. Looking back, I should have noticed the red flags, especially when I couldn't even find the shop easily--it's hidden between other businesses. They clearly don't have much business, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Don't make the same mistake.

Went here. Guy charge'd me $20 extra for a valve he never put in my car. And yes. I know this for a fact because he showed me it didn't fit. and didn't remove the charge. Shady mechanic. Will try and upsell you everything. Stay away.

He gets the job done and before he do anything they tell you first whats to be done and whats the problem. I didn't have no problem with them. I will be taking my jeep back. My Benz had noooo AC. Like nadda and in Vegas y’all know it’s a MUST to have AC. I was little scared of how much it was going to cost, considering it’s a Benz. However, I found Jose on facebook and I will NOT take my car anywhere else! Jose was very polite, knowledgeable, and he got my AC up and running again! And he saved me time and money and not to forget to mention the stress this has been weighing on me. Will definitely recommend Jose to anyone! It’s hard to find a reliable and honest mechanic now days. Went in today to get my rear strut assembly’s replaced and paid a fair price.
