If you are looking for DeWayne, the previous owner, he's not here. Sadly. Instead it looks like his shop was acquired by just another chain who seems more concerned with your wallet than your car. I took my wife's car to Tuffy because there is some oil leaking and an emission light came on. We never discussed with them doing any sort of full diagnostic, etc, but that's what they did. And the results? Over $4k in work that they recommended. Including a "Brake-Plus Rear End Collision Deterrent System" . . . which is nothing but an extra add on to the car that it doesn't need, but that Tuffy just wanted to sell me. For $300. And it was one of the things marked as "Requires Immediate Attention". Including replacing the battery, which has been giving me no issues at all. For $380. The battery was dead when I went to pick up the car, by the way, and the mechanic gave me attitude because "that battery is old and corroded". We jump started the car and I took it directly to AutoZone . . . where they tested the battery, alternator, and starter. All perfectly fine. And it seems to be starting just fine ever since. Oh . . . and their battery, should I chose to buy one, is $160. And they install it for free. Including 2 new tires, tires that still have tread and the guys at Discount Tire (love that place) have said to give it another 10-15k miles, for $680. $340 each for tires that Discount tire would install for about $200 each. Including removing and replacing the spark plugs, which I would do as a part of a Valve Cover Gasket replacement anyway, as they are easy to access at the same time . . . for $601. By the way . . . a good set of plugs for that car typically run between $60-100. Charging me $500 for the labor to screw in some spark plugs? Also included things like a new air filter, although one was installed less than a month ago during a routine oil change. A new cabin air filter. They said the car had "no brake pads" (what?) on the front and worn front rotors. Neither of which are true. And they were only going to charge me $460 to replace things that don't yet need to be replaced. The one thing I really wanted to know about was the Valve Cover gaskets . . . to see if that's where the oil leak was coming from. They basically said the leak was significant enough that they needed to go ahead and replace the VCG on both sides first, then clean the engine so they could reevaluate if that's where the leak was coming from in the first place. For $662. I don't think so. And what did they charge me for all of this? At first it was going to be $190. For the full diagnostic . . . that I didn't ask for. When I asked about the "shop fees" on top of the diagnostic fee, they said "oh yeah, that shouldn't be there". And dropped it to $160. Still for a full diagnostic that I didn't ask for and they didn't clarify before doing the work. Live and learn. And keep looking for a good mechanic.

The gear shift in my 2013 Cadillac SRX decided it was no longer going to shift into Park all of a sudden while I was driving around downtown Mooresville the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Monday morning, I did a search for "top rated Cadillac repair shops near 28115" and Tuffy's was #1 in the results. I gave them a call and they said they could definitely help with my issue. Long story short, the entire gear shift had to be replaced, and Tuffy's was able to acquire a used one, because new ones were on backorder. That saved me time and money! I give Tuffy's 5 stars, because their customer service is outstanding, they are incredibly knowledgeable and they strive to get you the best price on your service. I will most certainly be a repeat customer for all of my maintenance and repair needs!

They where very helpful and compassionate and willing to break down the problems with my truck so i could options and all the info i needed, now a days you wont receive that kind of personal touch with honesty and integrity. Also they where very much my furbaby T.T. s new best friends that day. Very animal friendly. Also i would like to point out that i seen great leadership in Matt with the other employees he himself was going over easier steps and etc with one of them she handles the desk etc (shes really sweet and helpful) to simplify their job but to make a smoother operation for them all . It wasn't like being at an everyday ol mechanic shop. Seemed more like visiting family and friends . I most differently found my forever one stop shop for all my vehicles, amazing service and really amazing people, and as a woman to be honest it was nice to see another woman in that field handling my truck, she did a fantastic job with everything. If you are looking to buy a used car even swing it over there for them to peek at its a peace of mind your buying knowing your buying a good vehicle for yourself or your family ,i know something like that is for me! Thx guys yall really put some faith back in me that not everyone is all about the mighty dollar and still cares about their fellow mankind's well being and safety !

I starting to believe that I have been ripped off price wise. Should of done my homework before I took it there. A starter for a 2014 Tundra cost me close to 80O Dollars. Doing some research on line starters start in the low 140s to hi 400s. Trusting that this shop would charge me a decent price..hell labor was less then the part! Soooooo basically I paid double for a part. Hmmmmmm. Should have read the reviews first. Would have went somewhere else. I will definatley next time. I don't recommend this place.

Matt and the team at Tuffy were great! They explained everything, showed me pictures of work that needed completed and communicated throughout the process! I will be a regular customer for maintenance and repair work!

The gentleman at the front desk was upfront and straight to the point. I was in a bit of a crunch but he ended up staying a few minutes after working hours to make sure I was ready to go. Extremely pleased.

This is the best place you can have your car worked on. They will give you an honest opinion on what needs to be done on your car. If it doesn’t need to be replaced they will tell you. Its hard to find an honest mechanic nowadays.

Very friendly service! Car was done when they said it would be and the waiting room was very clean and well stocked! I really appreciated the children’s toys and dog cookies they had! Will be getting all maintenance and repairs done here in the future.
