They are really proactive about reaching out and keeping you informed about what they are doing and what they're finding and getting your authorization. Once you approve, they bang it out quickly. They did really good work.

Very Kind people. My family from out of state had an issue with their vehicle Mr. Troy went out of his way to make sure they where comfortable and in a secure environment allowed them to shelter in place at his shop until I made it from Portsmouth to assist them. Great experience. I had regular maintenance completed including oil change and transmission fluid change along with tire rotation. Scheduling with Kathy at the front desk was smooth and car was done in the same day. Nothing better than finding a good local mechanic you can trust.

Had an issue with my Pilot that I had taken in 3 times to another mechanic actually towed in twice. They literally told me I had to wait for it to break completely then I would know what was wrong with it because they couldn't figure it out. Troy figured it out for me and I haven't had any more issues. Thanks so much Troy! Highly recommend him!

Hands down the very best auto repair shop I have ever dealt with. Every employee I had interaction with treated me like an old friend rather than a customer. I chose to visit Troy’s based on the reviews of the business that I read. Troy explained the problem I had with my vehicle and the options available to correct that problem. Not an easy task since my vehicle is no longer in production and parts are difficult to find. He made sure I understood the options and allowed me to weigh them and make an informed decision. The cost of the repair was significantly lower than other quotes that I received and I feel much better using a small independent shop as opposed to the big corporate ones. I live less than a minute from another shop but I will be driving the 45 minutes to Troy’s Auto and Diesel for any service that my truck or my wife’s car may need in the future.

I was a mechanic/technician for almost 40yrs. I had the pleasure to watch Troy begin as a helper and then easily become a technician. He has a natural understanding of all systems and he is very confident in what he knows. In my 40 years in the vehicle repair business, I have known 2 superb Technicians and Troy Thomas is one of the two.

I was recommended Troy's and after reading all the good reviews thought I'd take my van for a tune up and to look at some other issues it had been having. They were absolutely wonderful- staff are super friendly, they kept me updated with what was going on with my van, and alot of the things I mentioned I was worried was wrong turned out to not be a problem at all. A shop could easily take advantage of someone with little vehicle knowledge, so I know with confidence this shop will not try and do that to you. The repairs that needed doing were done fast and cost way less than I expected. I'll be using Troys for all my vehicle services from now on.

My brakes went out right near Tory’s shop. Ended up being two bad brake lines. Troy got me in the shop right away and had both brake lines repaired later the same day. Thanks to Troy and his team I’m back on the road.

The best around. Had a knock in my motor that I knew, but 2 Ford dealers could not diagnose and said to just run 93 Octane. We were on a warranty under the selling dealer.Troy diagnosed instantly and got the motor replaced under the warranty. Troy is top notch.

I had an appointment for my car inspection. Within a couple of minutes after arriving, my car was driven into one of the bays. My car was ready in a timely fashion. Office staff was superb! I will be using their services in the future and advise others to check them out. 5/26/2022-Got my van inspected today and still very satisfied with their service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great location for me.

Troy’s Auto and Diesel is nothing short of “Fantastic”. My family and I were heading out of Virginia on vacation and my truck started having problems. We were towing our 5th wheel and had this vacation booked for 2 years. We didn’t even know if we could get the camper back home. Troy told me to bring my truck in. He worked on my truck and not only did he fix it but I was on the road not back to home but on vacation. You just don’t find many places anymore that give that kind of great customer service. I will always be grateful to Troy and his staff for their kindness. I highly recommend Troy’s. Oh, I almost forgot. My wife and I are in the medical field and Troy’s service bays are cleaner then most of the hospitals I have been in. They really are attention to detail oriented. I wouldn’t take my diesel to anyone else.

The Jeep dealership told me I needed a new diesel engine for my Grand Cherokee after an EGR valve failure. I wasn't going to pay dealership prices for that so brought it to Troy's expecting to pay $12,000+. Three business days after getting them the Jeep, they called to say the car was ready and it would be $224. Jacob recognized that after the EGR failure, anti-freeze had collected in the exhaust system that needed a little driving to burn it out and get rid of the steam coming from the exhaust. And fresh anti-freeze was discolored because the polluted anti-freeze that couldn't be drained from the engine block mixed with the new anti-freeze and discolored it. The Jeep dealership used those two things to conclude there was irreparable internal engine damage. Troy's could have made thousands of dollars by putting in a new engine because that is what I expected. Not only did they have the expertise to know what was going on, but they also didn't try to take advantage of the situation. 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞.

This is the only place you take your diesel. I'm very picky about my 2003, 7.3 powerstroke diesel. They do outstanding work and they are reasonable in price! Thank you Troy to you and all of your crew for the fantastic job you did on my truck!!! She's pulls like a dream!!!
