I would not recommend taking your vehicle for a clutch repair here. Their customer service is severely lacking. Their hours on the door are not accurate (8-12 Fridays, not 8-5pm as marked). Made multiple trips to check on my vehicle only to be told they were closed or out to lunch. Good luck getting a hold of them by phone or in person after your vehicle is in their care. They do not give rough estimates if you want a ball park estimate and they charge $189.00 just to diagnose the problem with the vehicle. That is $100 more than anywhere else I was quoted. The main reason I gave them a shot was a friend recommended them. I was willing to pay more for quality service but instead I just paid more. Maybe this was an off week but I was never given an explanation or an apology. Only told they had tried calling several times. Our phones show three calls total with only one voice message and we immediately called them back each time. The clutch I was quoted for the job was something I could order from a local parts store for a fraction of the cost they quoted not to mention the quality of the clutch was minimal. I would be looking at another clutch repair in the next year or so if I accepted the part they recommended. Hang on to your money guys.

An excellent shop. Very knowledgeable, customer service oriented, staff. I had a complete transmission rebuild done and their costs are competitive, but I think the quality of work far exceeds other shops in town. I’d go back for any other engine, transmission, drivetrain work.

We really appreciate Jim and TransTech. We were told by another well known shop that we needed a new transmission. We asked Jim for a second opinion and nope (!!) he just flushed it and filled it with fresh fluid and we’re back on the road happy as can be. Thanks Jim and crew

I had the worst experience with this place. They had my car for a week and the whole time didn’t call me at all with any updates or let me know what was going on with my car, I always had to call them. One day when the mechanic left the shop early there was no communication that my car wasn’t being worked on and no communication when it would be done. When we were able to get ahold of them after calling multiple times they told us the car would be done Monday. Monday came around and my car was not done and the owner left the shop early, again no communication at all about no one actually working on my car. My dad had to drive there to find out the owner had left early. They had my car for a week and basically did nothing with it. We finally had to tell them to give the car back so we can take it somewhere else. Terrible terrible terrible service I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Recommended to me by a person I trust and as it turns out for a very good reason… excellent experience w/ my 04 Crown Vic Intercepter. Went the extra mile to get the parts and go into the Trans he rebuilt for us a second time to adjust the 1-2 shift firmness. It’s perfect now, thank you Jim.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. This shop will deceive you and make you do an immense amount of work just for them to do their job and they do it poorly. I brought my car here for further insight into the problems with the transmission and paid $400. They were not able to give me any information that was helpful regarding the transmission. I also talked to multiple people in the lobby while waiting, all of who had horrible experiences with this shop as well. There are multiple phone numbers for the shop on their website and on google, but it’s no use to try calling because they almost never answer. This shop has horrible service and zero efficiency, a complete waste of money. I hope there’s better places out there than this.

With all due respect, while the staff member I interacted with was nice, I've had too many issues to ignore or act like they were minor. My transmission failed a couple months ago, and I brought it to Trans Tech to get it rebuilt, because my vehicle was too old to order a new transmission. Once it was towed, I call, several times, and when I get an answer, am told I need to pay a $1000 deposit before they can work on it further. I pay the deposit. For the next week while it was in the shop, I called multiple times, on different days, at different times, simply to get an update on where we were sitting with my car. I left voicemails, stating I just wanted an update as my job requires driving all over the city. No answer, no calls returned. I only got an update when I went to the shop in person, and they tell me they're waiting on parts. Within the following week, parts arrived, they finish the repairs, and charge another $3000 for the finished job. I pay, take my car, and am told that hopefully, I won't have to come in again. A couple weeks pass, and my transmission starts leaking fluid. I bring it in again, they charge me $250 despite saying it probably wouldn't cost me anything, and when I ask what was wrong, they gave a vague answer that there was an extra part or something and it messed with the transmission. Now, it has been about three months since the initial repairs. I am currently sitting waiting for a tow to take my car to a different shop, after my car leaked enough transmission fluid in about 3 hours to be un-driveable. I find it irresponsible, after paying $4250 on my transmission, for it to be having such issues after only a couple months. Along with the lack of communication and loose answers I've received, plus them not answering the phone today when I tried to contact them, I wouldn't recommend this business. This is my second time taking a car in them to get mytransmission rebuilt and I won't take my cars anywhere else for transmission work. Jim and everyone are awesome and helpful and not only educated me on what they were doing but also tips to help me in the future. Thank you!

shawty didn’t even fix all of the transmission leak and then told me that i needed to replace my brake pads (for $500) Guess the need to change the brake pads came from the fact that I have a vagina cause I changed the pads myself and they weren’t “thinning and needing to be replaced” brake pad pics included

Had a bit of a transmission scare with my '05 Ford Expedition and ended up taking it to Trans Tech Auto and Truck on a friend's recommendation. Best decision I could've made. Jim gave me a quote that was way more reasonable than what I was expecting, thousands less compared to other places I received quotes from. The team did a fantastic job with the rebuild – my car's shifting better than when I purchased it. It's nice to find a place that does great work without overcharging. Big thanks to Jim and the crew at Trans Tech Auto and Truck. Highly recommend them if you're having car troubles.

Jim and his crew are fantastic mechanics and have great integrity. They have gone above and beyond in helping me take care of issues with my ‘06 Lexus on numerous occasions, sometimes even last minute working me in. They have the best prices and use high quality parts. Jim also stands behind his work!! Highly recommend using them for your mechanical needs.

Owner Jim takes pride in and responsibility for his excellent work. So grateful that I stumbled across Trans Tech when shopping for a new transmission. They came significantly under local competitors in both cost and turnaround time— and they demonstrated an expertise and confidence that were so reassuring. When another issue came to light after the completion of initial job, Jim ordered parts and made the fix expeditiously and all under warrantee. Thank you Jim and Trans Tech Team!

We took our 2007 Hummer H3 in to have leaks looked into and diagnose grinding noises from front end. Turns out the front diff and Transmission were in dire need of rebuild. Jim and his crew did an outstanding job rebuilding both! Jim took great care of us and kept us informed of what was going on. Turn around time was less as he informed and vehicle was ready when promised, The vehicles drives like new! We will highly recommend Trans Tech to all my friends for all repair needs.

Originally we were told replacing the transmission would take one day. They then told us we could not use our old support. It was too rusted and bent. They also told us that the frame was bent and the bolts in the torque converter were stripped and would delay the job. We tried to look for one at a junkyard and couldn't find one so they helped us order one. They told us that the new part would be in Tuesday the next week. I went in on that Thursday, after not hearing from them, and they told me it would be Tuesday or Wednesday the next week after the snow melts off the truck. Wednesday we called to check on the progress and was told it would be Friday before it was done. We asked why our job was getting pushed out so much after they had not met the promised dates. They got upset with the questions and told us to come get the truck to have someone else do the work. They told us we were not the first customer they've fired and we wouldn't be the last.they pushed the truck out to their parking lot and put the driveline in the back with all the snow. There were a lot of other bolts they just tossed on the floor board of the truck. I asked if we could still buy the part they ordered for us. I was told it was not for sale and they wanted to keep it. This is one more example of "you get what you pay for". Save yourselves the trouble and just go to Faithful Service Auto, they have great service and are friendly to work with. Faithful Service Auto also didn't find any stripped bolts or a bent frame.

Trans Tech Team were amazing with my 1970 C10. I knew my transmission was needing to be replaced or rebuild. Jim looked at it and he recommended Remanufactured which he and his team did the work. Super AMAZING Job and they even painted the transmission to a color that fit my truck. He also repaired some other desperately needed parts that were worn out. My wife and I 100% trust Jim and his crew. They have been working on my transmissions of various vehicles I owned for the last 20 years. I highly recommend Trans Tech for all your transmission needs and other vehicle repairs. Thank you Team Trans Tech!!

Took our vehicle in December 4, 2020. Got it back November 12, 2021..yes almost a year later...the mechanic was very rude and disrespectful causing a huge very uncomfortable confrontation. The owner Jim, did nothing to stop him from treating his customers in such a rude way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL...Rude, disrespectful, unhappy employees (mechanic) slow work (obviously, it took a year to fix a crank)
