I came here for a pre-purchase inspection for a used electric vehicle (EV) and had a mixed experience. It was useful to have them identify basic issues (broken wiper blades and low washer fluid). They might've been a bit aggressive on the state of the tires -- the dealer measured them slightly thicker. What really upset me was how difficult it was to get them to evaluate the battery, which was the most important part of the inspection! First, they said they said they completed the job and only acknowledged that they didn't inspect the battery when I pointed it out. Then they said their machine couldn't do it. One employee told me I should've just gotten an ICE car to avoid worrying about the battery -- as if ICEs don't need oil changes and entail lots of other problems. Finally, they say they'll evaluate the battery but when I ask to see the results, they couldn't show it to me -- I needed to just take their word that the battery is ok. I won't use them again.

This place has always given us great service! I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I'm a woman. They always work with us to get us back on the road quickly. I highly recommend them!

I just bought a set of studded winter tires from this location and the service and team was great. I can’t give them 5 stars because they gave me the wrong version of the tire I requested. When I initially emailed I asked for the Nokia hakkapeliitta 10 EV Studded. When I called to confirm after they said they had them in store I repeated that I wanted the EV version of these tires for my plug in hybrid car. I was told they had these tires at the warehouse. When I got there for the install today I didn’t think to check for a third time as I figured we were on the same page, so that’s on me. I wasn’t charged for the EV rated tires on the invoice and the difference wasn’t enough to make a fuss about it or ask to have them switched. My guess was they probably just didn’t know there was an EV version of the tire so figured I just meant the normal version and wanted to encourage me to make the purchase by just saying they had it.

Don't hesitate; take your vehicle in for tires and breaks now!! I just stopped in needing a tire rotation and left the place thinking "this is how business was conducted in the olden days. Integrity, kindness, competence and genuine awesomeness!!" I'm telling everyone I know, make the trip to these guys and be amazed by good ol' fashioned customer service. It's WONDERFUL

I had a great experience with Todd's a couple days ago. The repairman walked up to my car and immediately identified the reason my tire was not holding air - it had dry rot. This was actually something another repair place had missed a few days prior when I had them specifically work on my tires (and do a full pre-sale inspection). I also know Todd's is honest - I had started out by asking if all four tires needed to be replaced. I knew this wasn't necessary, but wanted to see what they said. The repairman quickly identified which of the tires were new, and did not need replacing. I believe I can trust a car repair that downsells me, especially on first impression. I got the tire work done and have since had no issues. Overall from my own experience, I recommend Todd's for their honest, competent repair service.

My wife takes our car here but she was out of town when the tire pressure light came on. She told me I should go here, pull into one of the bays, and have them check the pressure. When I pulled in, a guy charged out yelling at me. He would not even listen to what I had to say. I told him I was sorry, and didn't know how they did things there but would he just listen for a minute. He continued to shout at me and berate me for not knowing I shouldn't do that. Maybe he is just an angry guy, or was having a bad morning, but immediately angrily shouting at people for not knowing how they do things doesn't seem to me to be the optimal way of handling customer service. I went to the place across the street and they were very kind and polite to me, and helped me right away. I am sure these people will have an explanation for why angrily berating someone and refusing to listen to them was the right way to treat a customer and how I was totally wrong for not knowing what to do, and I deserved to be shouted at and intimidated for making a simple mistake. If that is the kind of service you want than this is the place for you.

Unfortunately in the last 6 weeks our cars have had 3 flat tires. Fortunately every time Todd's has been able to fix our tires in less than 30 minutes. Everyone who works there are friendly, professional, and we always feel taken care of. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful tire shop in the neighborhood and not have to deal with the long waits and hassle of the bigger name tire shops. A few years ago we bought a whole new set of tires from Todd's and couldn't recommend them enough. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Came in with a screw in my tire and unsure how was going to be able to get it home due to rapid air loss. These guys squeezed me in during their busy day, got it done an HOUR sooner than previously thought and hooked it up! Will definitely be back here and be telling friends about the great crew and fantastic customer service. 🤘🤘Thanks guys!!!

I have had to have my breaks replaced 4 times within a 3 year span because of “faulty parts” Put in my vehicle by points S. I recently had to have my breaks redone a 5th time by a different mechanic because I don’t trust points S to do a solid job. I understand that occasionally there are mistakes but having to have multiple sets of breaks calipers, rotors and pads replaced yearly because I am driving and loose my breaks entirely is unacceptable! If I could give negative stars I would because this is a safety hazard to myself and everyone else on the road because they fail to do their job correctly. I wish I could say this was a single Points S but it’s not. This was 3 different locations that all messed up. Save yourself the time and money take your car somewhere else

On my last visit I was told by Todd that my serpentine belt was fraying and I would need to get it replaced in about 1000 miles. So I took it in today to get it replaced. After 20 minutes the mechanic calls me up to say that the previously installed serpentine belt looks pretty new and asked me if I wanted to keep the old belt or get a new one under a warranty for $190. I decided on keeping the old belt but I was totally impressed by the honesty and the mechanic giving me the choice to keep my old belt and not be charged anything for their time and labor. It was truly an inspiring experience and I will definitely be sending all my business to Todd’s.

I went to this place for thousands of dollars worth of repairs over the years, but the last time I went they “fixed” something that I’d already paid to replace exactly one year ago (by them) and didn’t repair the issue I came in to get fixed. I only had enough money for one repair, and ended up paying for something I didn’t actually need. The person who processed the word order wasn’t Todd (the owner), but a different employee, who (after fixing what wasn’t broken) gave me an absurd quote for the actual issue. I no longer trust any of the repairs they performed, since they’re clearly taking advantage of people and looking for opportunities to overprice services.

My 2008 Prius brakes were a little squeaky so I had them checked here. I was told that my front brakes were fine, but that my rear brakes were at 15% and needed to be replaced, for a price of over $500. I was told I also needed two tires. I had the tires replaced that day and made an appt. for the brakes. I was thinking the quoted price sounded high, so I called a brake shop nearby and asked how much they would charge & they said somewhere under $300. I also called a Prius specialist mechanic who had inspected the brakes before, who told me my brakes were likely fine. So I had him look at them & he says I absolutely don't need new rear brakes, they're at 95%. Now I'm wondering if I really needed the tires.

This is normally a business I recommend. However, I had a flat And made it to their location 20 minutes before closing and the 6 employees couldn't take care of me. So I walked next door with my wheel to get patched

Friendly staff, great service, would absolutely recommend this place. I had a super busy day of driving around doing errands, and at about 3pm I noticed a screw sticking out of my tire. I called a bunch of places that said they wouldn't be able to schedule me in for a patch for at least a couple months. Then I called Point S and they said come right in. I got down there, dropped off my car, and they were done patching before 4pm. Then they just handed my key back, no charge, and I was back on schedule. Thank you to everyone there!

Had 3 people ahead of me and they still had me out in 45 minutes for a tire change. Decided to give them a chance after Les Schwab had me waiting for a tire change for over 3 hours past my scheduled appointment and weren't even close to getting my car in to work on. They do first come first serve here and are up front about it, but they also work fast, and do good work. They will have my business from here on out.

I come to Todd's Point S for everything my car needs. Originally came because of a recommendation from a friend about tires they carried but stayed for the all around auto care they do. I've never been gouged, I've never been quoted for work that doesn't need to be done, I've never been uncomfortable with the work that was performed. I trust what Todd and every one of their team does to my car without hesitation. I recommend them to everyone I know. Never been a doubt that these guys would do the absolute best for my vehicles.

I was having a relatively bad morning which was made worse when I heard what sounded like something in one of my tires. I went to Todd’s Point S Tire because it was close. I’d only been here one other time for a DEQ inspection and I’ve never bought tires from them. They found the object in my tire and repaired it in about a half hour. Super fast & super friendly. When I pulled out my wallet, the guy told me no charge for the repair. Thank you for brightening my fairly bad day! Highly recommend this place!

i can't recommend this place enough! incredible group of guys working here. extremely honest and kind, and were so patient with me when we brought in a friend's car that we didn't know all the specs of. i stopped here because it was the closest auto repair to where my tire went flat but i'll never take a car anywhere else in portland.
