Our car broke down in Yuba City while heading north on vacation. It happened late Friday afternoon. Two mechanics we visited turned us down as they were closing soon. After calling friends in Chico for advice we tried the master mechanic. The receptionist told us to come on over and they would see about helping us out. The problem was quickly diagnosed. It turned out we needed parts and nobody locally delivered on Saturday. Steve called Sacramento to source parts on the weekend. He put together a plan and spent the first half of his day off getting us on the road. The car was ready at noon and our vacation was saved! These are good people. I also chatted with another customer that has had all his German cars maintained at the Master Mechanics over many years. He raved about the quality of work. The shop even checked in with us a few days later to ensure everything was running well. It certainly was! Honest, quick, accurate and very accommodating. Also very reasonably priced. The Master Mechanic is the only Mechanic I will let work on my Porsche 911 Cabriolet. He is very knowledgeable about Porsche Specs and does excellent work.

I have a 2012 BMW 325i that just quit starting one morning and it ended up needing a new starter. I’m a school teacher and needed my car the following week for work. Steve was super-fast with the repair and we were able to pick it up the next day. Thank you for not charging an arm and a leg like the dealership wanted. Thank you for helping us when we needed it. I would definitely recommend these guys to work on your vehicle. I needed a second opinion on a major issue with my vehicle and Steve was right on top of it. I told him what I had done and my thoughts. He confirmed exactly what the cause was and was able to fix it for me very quickly. Thanks Steve for the help. You get what you pay for and these guys are worth your money.

Steve and Tiffany are simply the best of the best. Faced w an issue on our Fiat tow car the Fiat dealer said they were two weeks out for service. 8-10 other shops said no way. Steve said bring it in, ran diagnostics, had parts delivered within the hour, installed and running in another hour. This is what is missing in much of today’s business world.

The Best. Fixed my front and back brakes in only a few hours each, had intuitive insights into how my car was performing from a simple test drive, and had an arsenal of diagnostic tools and tricks to verify the state of my Chevy. Mathing out the actual rates for labor makes them plenty reasonable. I don't expect to need service for a while, but they have made a loyal customer out of me!

I broke down outside of Yuba City 5 days before Christmas driving to Colorado. Steve and his staff were amazingly helpful and did everything in their power to get my vehicle repaired as quickly as possible. It was a large job and they stayed into the night for a couple of days to help me get home for the holidays. Steve was honest, fair and the work was done very well. I can’t say enough good things about this business!!

I would give them ten stars if I could. My families car broke down on a road trip across country. This shop has been amazing. They stayed open late to fix the car, drove us to a pizza place for dinner while we waited. They went above and beyond in every way to get our vehicle back on the road.

INSANELY OVERPRICED! I called for a headlight replacement and they told me $180 and that it would take 2 hours, I immediately called another place and they did it in 20 minutes for $30!! Would not recommend

It is such a relief when you take your vehicle to a repair shop and know you will be treated with respect. I felt so lucky when years ago I found "The Master Mechanic" and Greg. I was worried when Greg retired and Steve took over; but that was a needless worry. Because with Steve I have the same confidence as with Greg. No matter what question I may ask; Steve always has patience and gives me honest answers. The office has a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you Steve and all your staff for continuing the good work ethics.

Steve and the team at Master Mechanic are a cut above the rest. I have had experience in shops all over San Francisco and the North Bay and Master Mechanic is by far the best shop I’ve had the pleasure of using. Super efficient, reasonable, and trustworthy. Can’t say enough good things about this shop.

They saved me again. Today I rolled my window down and as these cars do, it wouldn't roll back up because the cable snapped. Of course it was raining today. I called them and they ordered the part and were able to squeeze me in today! This shop never seems to price gauge. (The red recliner in the lobby is great for a nap if you need to wait!)

We started home to Bakersfield from a weekend in Chico and soon realized our air wasn’t working properly. We stopped here and got a quick and honest diagnosis. All of the staff were friendly and went above and beyond our expectations. The waiting room was cool and comfortable for our family and we were on our way in a reasonable time frame. The price wasn't nearly as bad as we anticipated so that was another plus! Thank you, Master Mechanics!

My brother has taken 2 cars here. Took them in and they came out with the same problem. Then Steven wants to charge again for the same problem he paid for in the first place. Smogged his Mercedes but the check engine light still on. Highly do not recommend.

Steven at The Master Mechanic has fixed several different issues with my Jetta for a fraction of what I've paid other shops who were not successful with resolving the issues. I always feel comfortable taking my car into The Master Mechanic knowing I am not being overcharged. The staff are extremely friendly and polite! You can tell they lookout for your best interest which is why I will continue taking my car into The Master Mechanic for all of its future maintenance.

Master Mechanic: Steven and his crew are amazing. I own 7 or 8 cars including a couple of pickups and a Rolls Royce. I've been so impressed how thorough and quick they always get the job done. I've never seen a shop that stays open past 5 pm, yet Steven stays there until he completes the job, sometimes until 10 or 11 pm and on weekends. His willingness to serve his customers is remarkable as is his competence with so many different makes. He also does not overcharge for his services. Thank you Thank you!

I’ve had a heater problem with my car for almost two years. The problem was it blew cold air. With a new born on the way my wife told me I needed to have a heater or her and the baby wouldn’t be riding with me. I didn’t know what to expect. I’m leery of new mechanics and didn’t want to be taken for a ride. Though this was a difficult job to properly diagnose The Master Mechanic fixed it and did so without asking for my first born. I totally recommend them and will be bringing all my business to them for now on.

They might be real good, but I wouldn't know...they never answer their phone. That gets frustrating.
