I recently had my Honda CR-V serviced at Steve's Auto Service, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Living in Raleigh, I've struggled to find an auto shop that offers fair pricing without trying to oversell services. My dad recommended Steve, so I decided to make the 3 hour drive from North Carolina. I was aware that something was seriously wrong with my car, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money since it has over 211,000 miles on it. Steve quickly identified the issue after a short test drive. He called me with an estimate, and when I picked up the car, he thoroughly explained all the work that was done. The best part? The final cost was actually under the estimate! My car now drives like it's brand new. The trip was absolutely worth it because of the outstanding customer service, clear communication, and fair pricing. If I need any more auto repairs in the future, I will definitely be bringing my car to Steve's. Highly recommend!

Brought in my vehicle for brake pulsation. Was told it needed new rotors all around, pads all around, and new front calipers. 18 months later and the vehicle is pulsating again. The front calipers look much more rusted then they should for being 18 months old. I called and spoke with Steve regarding the previous work and now experiencing the same symptoms and he was very defensive hostile. He Immediately said no warranty was in place and that a lot of things can cause pulsation during braking. Very disappointed with the interaction and would advise others to take their business elsewhere like I will!!

I’ve been here a couple of times to get my inspection done but trying to get it done is like pulling teeth. Every time I feel like I’m inconveniencing him and says he doesn’t have time or is very busy. The one time I did get it done, the car was ready in a half hour after he said it’ll be done in a day or two. I just went by there today to ask him and I got an angry response that he couldn’t do it and he was booked up until Friday, even though one car in the shop and the same 3 old cars sitting in the lot. It’s a very unpleasant place to go and I highly recommend going elsewhere!

I am sad to have to put this review up but well when you tell the person exactly what is wrong. What the two options are and they refuse to give you a price of what it would cost. Well. Yeah I will no longer be going here. I told the person it was code P0128, EITHER A thermostat or coolant sensor needing to be replaced and they wouldn't even give me a quote. Simply said they have to do the diagnostic which I know means another $100 or so added to the cost. I have had plenty of good service from them in the past so this really disappointed me. They have lost a customer.

PSA We have just had a very strange and unnerving experience with this mechanic. Steve’s Auto Repair drastically over quoted me (1100-1300$) and refused to put the quote in writing for a claim I had to make for damage done to my car. He was so adamant about it that he refused to fix my car and told me to get it off his lot!! He wasn’t going to “get in a pissing contest” with the company I was making the claim with. I took the car to Regency Tire and Auto and the repairs were not as extensive as Steve’s Auto Repair said and it cost only 206$ to repair my car. Do not use Steve’s Auto Repair!

We've had our cars and SUVs serviced at Steve's multiple times and they've done everything from oil changes and inspections to brakes and tune-ups. I think you get quality work at a fair price. I've compared Steve's pricing to big corporate chain repair outfits and he's generally cheaper. I had one repair that was not a good fit for his shop and he told me where to go and that turned out well. I will grant that Steve comes off a little gruff but I don't take it personally myself.

Rip off place. Was told my parking/ emergency brake didn't work. Got in truck and proved it did as owner and mech. Peered through the window. Will get it reinspected and report what else I find.

Doesn't overcharge for services; always lets me know what is wrong with my car and asks me if I would like to repair it before hand instead of letting it go bad down the road. Great family business

Steve's is near my son's school, which is how I ended up going there the first time. He's been great every time -- his prices are good, and he's never tried to sell me something I don't need. In fact, quite the opposite: He's told me I don't need things that other shops (I'm looking at you, Goodyear) tried to get me to spring for. Definitely recommended.
