Great environment! Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop cool people !! They are focused on doing the job right the first time , also they are very detailed and will walk you through the process the whole way , being a girl this is important for me so I know I'm not being taken advantage of financially! I recommend them to all my people now !!

My girlfriend’s sister was driving from Ft Worth to Austin and broke down on I-35. I was able to get the car to Jonathan and he treated us like royalty. He got on it the day after Christmas and worked till midnight to get us back on the road quickly. We picked it up (it needed major repairs), and it is running GREAT!! He bent over backwards for us!!! I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

I’ve gotten multiple vehicles worked on with Jonathan, and he’s really an amazing mechanic! He is honest, thorough, kind, and uses quality products in your car which is fairly priced. If you’re on the fence about taking your car here, go for it, you won’t be disappointed! Supporting local is rad, and it’s cool doing business with honest people with great energy. Jonathan is a knowledgeable, fair, friendly and kind person. He always works with people, he works hard, and he’s not someone to overcharge you-he’s always given me a fair price, and he’s been my mechanic since Auto Zone recommended him at least 5 years ago. He’s helped me out so many times, on many different cars. I will always go to him first.

Rough Morning..Car randomly stopped working. Got towed to Steel Automotive. After diagnosing the problem, Jonathan got me out the same day!! Every other shop, including dealerships were a two week wait! His prices are beyond fair and Jonathan is now my go to guy. Highly recommend

Great price and service. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a mechanic. Went to another shop at first that ended up trying to overcharge me, found Steel's next and Jon saved me nearly $500. Highly recommend and will be back in the future.

The owner is fantastic! It is hard to find an honest mechanic, but he has been a real pleasure to work with. His work is good, he stands behind it and will always make it right. I have referred people to him, and nobody is ever dissatisfied. You should give him a try!

What great service! Honestly my wife and I have been hit with so many obstacles this past year and keeping consistency has been hard to achieve. This morning we suddenly found out our driver seats window needed attention and it felt like another problem to tackle. We called several people around town, and all said it would be done the next day. BUT finally, we found Jon’s shop and went straight over because he said he could get it done probably before the day was over. Right off the bat, very respectful guy, knew what he was talking about and even drove us home and dropped off our car (of course due to convenience as well). Super thankful for a quick fix and not having to Uber everywhere for the next day and a half!! We definitely plan on using his service in the future.

Can't say enough good things about this place. The world felt like it was crashing down 2 days ago especially given that I was on my way to vacation at the end of the week. I called Jonathan, he first gave me insight into the issue at hand and provided multiple solutions on how to handle it. He understood that I was leaving in a couple of days so he moved things around to help me out in a timely manner. He also pointed out a few other things that he saw as potential problems down the line and advised me on those. Needless to say, I won't be going to another mechanic as long as I live in ATX. He's a true professional and more than that, he's a very genuine person which in my case (because I don't know the first thing about cars) goes a LONG way.

I'm grateful to have found a reliable and affordable auto mechanic in S Austin at Steel's Automotive. I searched the web and called for many quotes before finding this shop via RepairPal. Jonathan took my call immediately, quoted me within minutes (with the most affordable rate), and was ready to work on my Nissan Sentra an hour later. Bonus for responsive texting, too! Not only does he know what he's doing and does it well, but he truly cares about cars. He was extremely pleasant to communicate with, laid back and no frills; as real as real can get. He was completely transparent in every step, and he pushed his test drive to the extreme to insure his service would hold up in the harshest conditions. He's working hard to build his shop from the ground up, so I'm happy to return when the next issue arises and to support his business. 10/10 recommend. Note: I had to replace a wheel bearing hub, and he finished work in 1 hour. Easy peasy!

Jon was very helpful and honest .. What i thought was a blown head gasket turned out to be a small fix. He could have charged me an arm and a leg but instead he gave me a reasonable price and was done way faster than i thought he would be. I would recommendation steels automotive to anyone for any job big or small. Very professional.

Please!....Please!....Please!....Let this shop save you some money and get your vehicle fixed correctly!....I’ve owned over 6 vehicles and I won’t let anyone put their hands on my cars and trucks...This shop is upfront and honest and won’t let you down!....His shop has done 3 AC rebuilds and are still blasting cold air to this day!....His shop does it all!....

Jonathan is personable and friendly to a T. He understands the customer need, quickly prioritizes what needs to be done, and does everything with joy - as if he's family. A different take from the larger auto shops, don't let the initial perspective fool you from a valuable car repair experience.

My family was in Austin to visit relatives when our car broke down at a stop light. We couldn't even get the car in neutral to move it off to the side of the road. The battery was completely dead and jumping it didn't work. Jonathan (owner of Steel Automotive) pulled in behind us and offered to help. Jonathan's shop was just down the street, so we towed it there and Jonathan got to work. It turned out to be a bad battery and alternator. The reason for the 5 star rating is that Jonathan was not even working that day!! He was headed to the shop just to do paperwork and ended up spending 6 hours helping us (identifying the problem, getting the parts, fixing it, driving the car to make sure no other problems). he was AMAZING!!! Thank you for taking care of us and making sure we had a car to get home in! If we lived in Austin, we would recommend Steel Automotive to everyone we know! Ed & Karin
