Super great experience with my car here! He was able to get me in within 2 days and had my car done within 24 hours! I had my tires aired up, rotated, an oil change, my air and oil filter replaced, and he fixed an issue on the bottom of my car all for a VERY reasonable price. Would recommend anyone to come here!!

Another satisfied USF student. They gave the best price in the area for what I needed, and had my car ready for me the next day. Also, I like that I was shown all of the parts that were removed just for some extra transparency. Smooth process; would recommend.

We went to Jerry after taking our car to VW on Kennedy and they wanted over $2500 for an oil change and repairs that were not even needed. He was able to fix a leak that he found and even was able to confirm that VW never even completed the oil change we paid for. This is a great repair shop and he is honest and timely!

12/3/2024 UPDATE 2 Jerry, this is the last comment I will make regarding this situation. My vehicle was at SFAR for 66 days before Hurricane Helene made landfall (over 4 hours away in the Big Bend). That would have given you two months to receive the part. There were delays in the part, which I found interesting, as the part was available for pickup (from Mercedes) the same day in Orlando & next day in Tampa. This was true on three separate occasions across those first two months. Pray tell, why was the part magically delayed every time you attempted to order it from other retailers? Why not just use the manufacturer's parts? I would have happily paid for the parts, regardless of the cost. With Hurricane Milton, I completely understand delays. However, Hurricane Milton did not make landfall (in Siesta Key, 2 hours from your shop) until Day ~75 of my vehicle being in your possession. Respectfully, Jerry, my finances are none of your business. With the company that actually completed the repair, I paid for quality care, respect, and speed of service. That is worth the amount I paid. As for my fiancé and our loose acquaintance, it is again interesting that they received repaired vehicles in a timely manner, but my vehicle took 100 days. My fiancé and I have come to the agreement that he will no longer be using your shop, and we have let our friends and family know to avoid you like the plague. Jerry, own up to your mistakes. Your services were not satisfactory, and as a consumer, I can comment on that. A hit dog will holler, and you certainly have been hollerin'. ------------------- 10/29/2024 UPDATE 1 My first review is attached as an image. On October 2nd, 2024, I picked up my unrepaired vehicle from South Florida Auto Repair and took it to European Autohaus on East Bearss Avenue. Less than 48 hours after dropping off my vehicle to European Autohaus, it was completed. My vehicle was with Jerry exactly 100 days without repair and was completed by another team in under 2 days. If you have an import car, please take it anywhere else. South Florida Auto Repair will disrespect you and your time. ------------------- 09/17/2024 SUMMARY Since today is day 84 (Week 11) of my car being with Jerry and the South Florida Auto Repair (SFAR) team, my fiancé and I have decided to publicly discuss the lack of communication, falsehoods, and blatant misogyny from SFAR. With our previous experiences with Jerry repairing my fiancé's car (over $1,200 in repairs) and recommending our friends to his shop (fiancé's coworker getting her transmission repaired [in under a week] for $1,000), we were a bit taken aback that Jerry has treated me this way. My fiancé has persuaded me to give Jerry multiple chances, but this experience is much like dating a bad boyfriend. He should have never received the second chance.

Went in for what I thought was a bad starter and turned out to be just a bad fuse! They told me it would probably be a few days when I called, but they got back to me the NEXT DAY. Not only that, but after I took a Lyft there, Jerry offered me a ride back to where I came from. Great and friendly service! Went above and beyond.

I just called to get a quote and the person who answered the phone was short, rude and very sarcastic, even laughed in my face. It was my first time calling this business and my first time calling a mechanic. Very unpleasant and I will be finding someone else to fix my car.

If you are looking for a place to fix your car thoroughly, honestly, and inexpensively, please come here! Jerry is such a kind person and very understanding! I couldn't thank him enough for fixing my car (Toyota Camry). I read dozens of amazing reviews about this place on Google Maps and my USF friend personally recommended this place to me. At first, I said my car was shaking like crazy at high speed and I needed oil change (The maint. required light was on) and I gave him the list of things the previous mechanic told me to fix in the very near future when buying the used car. He said they would check the car and asked me to leave it there. Afterwards, we communicated through calls and he was very patient with all my questions. Quoted from him, he said "The list provided was baloney" and all I needed to fix the shaking issue was the tire change. The place might not be fancy, but the work done and the issue analysis were fantastic! Oil change, 4 new tires, oil filter, AC cabin filter, 2 wiper blades, and the labor all cost around 760 bucks! It's a steal, y'all! I did a test drive and the issue was gone and the car ran quite smoothly! Thanks so much, Jerry!

It's expensive. I was quoted 377 dollars for a 15 min job. The part costs only 45 dollars. I went elsewhere and fixed it for 110 dollars including parts. He might be a good mechanic, but extremely overpriced for sure. His attitude doesn't help it as well. Edit: Mr Giovanni is such a rude person as seen on his reply. I literally paid him the 55 dollar or whatever inspection fee after i bailed on him. I fixed the crankshaft sensor as he said. I have a receipt. He doesn’t take cards. I had to go to the atm in the supermarket nearby to bring cash. If this isn’t proof they idk what to say

Went to see Jerry to replace my splash shield. He managed to get one from the dealer quickly and inexpensively and replaced it within a couple of days. He even took care of regular maintenance like oil, filters, and wiper blades. Jerry will happily explain the what and why of anything he will be doing with your vehicle and provide estimates for everything. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area, even students at USF like me.

Finally I found an honest mechanic that knows what he is doing. I moved here from LA two years ago and have had subpar experience with a few mechanic shops in the area. Jerry was very honest and upfront from the beginning and he explained everything to me and communicated throughout the whole process. I had an oil replacement at a local mechanic shop in Temple Terrace a few months ago. The idiots over-torqued the drain bolt and damaged the threads. Two weeks after doing the oil change the red light came on notifying me that my car was out of engine oil while I was driving on the freeway. It was a total hassle. When I took it back the mechanic said "your car is old that's why it's leaking oil." I have owned this vehicle for 7 years and it's never leaked oil. Long story short I took it to multiple mechanics and they all said I need to replace the oil pan. I found Jerry on Google and came to visit him. Initially we discussed replacing the pan and I agreed to the price and everything, but the next day Jerry called me and mentioned that he can fix the issue and SAVE ME $300!!! He could have just moved forward as we agreed and made more money, but he was honest and had my best interest in mind. As you all know this is a very rare trait nowadays. I really appreciated it. Jerry even stayed late until I could drop off and pick up my car since I work late usually. I had one of the best experiences visiting a mechanic. Give South Florida Auto Repair a try. You won't be disappointed.

My daughter was in a car accident and we didn't want to make an insurance claim because we knew that they would "total" the vehicle and our insurance would skyrocket. To complicate things, we still had a loan on the vehicle. Jerry was willing to take on the project, and he did an amazing job!! He restored my daughter's 2012 Hyundai Elantra with precision and detail. He hunted down used parts to keep the cost down, and today it looks better than when we originally bought it!!! We are so thankful that we found Jerry at South Florida Auto Repair!! His knowledge and expertise were incalculable, and he explained everything. I really appreciated his honesty, and how kind and friendly he was. Truly a rare thing in this day and age!

Jerry is absolutely amazing. I came having no idea what I wronged with my car. All I heard was a bad sound. He was a able to fix my brakes and rotors in a timely manner. He had also taken a look at my tires and one of them was really bald and it was definitelya safety concern. I didn’t know much about cars so when he showed me my tire compared to a fresh tire I was so grateful he caught that. I had plan to drive 7 hours to my hometown that week and driving with a bald tired is really risky. During this whole process Jerry also took the time to drive me home when dropping off the car and picking it up, helping me avoid a Uber fee. His customer service is amazing and I would recommend anyone to him. He even gave me a discount because I’m a student! Go to Jerry!

My car almost exploded and Jerry fixed it right up! He was super nice and explained everything to me including what was wrong, why he used certain parts and how he was going to fix it. I know nothing about cars but Jerry made me feel comfortable in knowing my car was in good hands. He is also super fast! Had my car fixed a day after our appointment 10/10 service I will only be going to this mechanic and will be suggesting him to everyone I know!

My son’s car broke down and was towed to South Florida Auto Repair yesterday (Wednesday). We had never used the garage before. Jerry diagnosed several problems (some serious) and ordered the parts. The car was fixed and ready the next afternoon (Thursday). Jerry also picked up my son from USF so he could get the car (he was going to walk but Jerry said it was too hot). I highly recommend this auto repair garage and am thankful my son has a safe car to drive.

Jerry is an expert mechanic and diagnostician. He'll figure out the problem and fix it! (Not just a "parts changer" like so many places.) Go to him regularly and he'll keep track of maintenance, plus look for potential problems that could leave you stranded if not addressed. I started taking my cars to SFAR in 1993 when I was going to USF and had a 1989 VW Jetta. Jerry didn't just keep it running, he kept it running great. (I kept that car until 2005 and was able to pay off my student loans before having car payments again.) Since then, I've taken two Subaru Foresters to SFAR for regular service and repairs. Last year I got lazy and took my car to a shop within walking distance of my house for AC repair. It was a disaster. I took the car back four times after the initial "repair" and they never got it working properly. Jerry tracked down the problem and corrected in one simple repair that didn't even require new parts. I learned my lesson and will be a regular customer of South Florida Auto Repair again.

Stopped in unexpectedly as the air dam under on my van got half ripped off and was making a ton of noise dragging on the ground. Got lots of stares driving down the street. Found Jerry at S FL Auto Repair and caught him just before leaving for the day. Instead of just taking the part off so I could get home and fix it another day, he went ahead and fixed it on the spot. Super nice guy and really appreciated his help! I would definitely go back if I need car service down the road! Thanks again.

Can't say thank you enough. I had a problem with my wheels, I called and after I told them the problem, they had me come in immediately even though they were gonna be closed by the time I arrived. He looked at the problem, showed me the problem so I would understand and told me that I need two new tires. He gave me a range of tires and prices and explained clearly and simply the pros and cons of each. I went with his recommendation and I don't regret it. Amazing business & amazing people. Friendly, great customer service. The first time I went to a mechanic and felt confident with the transaction. Honest, hard working, good people.

Jerry is now the person I'd trust most to fix anything on my car. If you look very closely you'll notice that no one who has actually trusted this business with their car has ever given it anything less than 5 stars. He worked well beyond his stated business hours to deliver me news about my car. He's a kind soul and my biggest regret is that by leaving this great review I might have more competition for getting my car fixed the next time I see him. I'm willing to live with that though since I think he's such a great guy. I won't live here forever, but while I do I will be trusting him with every repear and tune up to repay him for his great kindness and service. I guess I should mention that I had my car towed to him when it wasn't starting and he fixed it within 24 hours AND picked me up in it out of the kindness of his heart. If you're in dire straights, trust this man to do his best work always to try to save you. That's just the kind of man he is. Last thing is, he even walked me through my own anxiety about finding a way to get my car towed. He literally saved me from every trouble I had this week. I know one review isn't enough to repay him for his kindness, but I hope someone reads this and trusts this man the next time they need help with their car troubles.
