These two brothers, Irvin and Edgar, and the mechanics that work with and for S.M.G. Auto Repair are pretty wonderful. Their work is good and thorough and they're competent and caring. I left my dealership because I was being treated poorly both in terms of pricing and service and thankfully found this business. I would highly recommend S.M.G. to anyone who wants to have a positive experience with their car's repairs and with the way they're treated.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about SMG Auto and the owner Irvin! My car had been sitting for 3 years and in just a few days SMG Auto got her up and running better than ever, all for an incredibly fair price. On top of that, Irvin and his brother are kind and patient! I’m so grateful to have been referred to SMG Auto and look forward to trusting them with my car going forward.

Irwin's carelessness caused extensive damage to my Porsche engine. His tech failed to properly torque the oil drain bolt after a simple oil change. All the oil leaked out overnight , and there was no oil pressure for the timing chain tensioner upon startup ... Causing extensive damage. When I brought the vehicle back the next day, Irwin tried to play it off as if it wasn't his problem. Pathetic workmanship. 1 star owner. 1 star experience. Can't even do a simple oil change. I've been doing my own oil changes since that day.

This was a great experience. Edgar diagnosed the car quickly and they were able to tend to the breaks in less than 2 hours. True professionals who communicated exactly what was needed and handled it according to plan. Much appreciated to work with folks who actually do what they say they are going to do and don’t try to add additional costs.

Honest, fair, fast. Never had a bad experience been going for over 5 years with old car. Explain it all before they do the work, and explain pricing, even back up thier work if anything happens. Excellent

Irvin is the most honest mechanic I have met in my 40+ years of driving. In one instance, I expected the repair would exceed $1500. It turned out to be a small repair totaling $65. I would have never known the difference. I was referred to Irvin by my friend who lives in Northridge, who also is an avid car enthusiast. The fact that he drives in from so far is a testament in itself. I currently drive a late model, higher end vehicle which is still under warranty and I choose Irvin for my regular services as opposed to the dealer. I not only support an individually owned business, I also save quite a bit of money. I'm tired of the dealers excess charges for frivolous services Thank you Irvin!!

As someone who doesn't know anything about cars, I'm always worried about getting tricked into spending more money than I need to when I take my car into a shop. This place is very honest and trustworthy. I brought my car in because it sounded like something was loose and rattling. They checked it out for me and fixed the issue at no cost within a couple of hours. I wouldn't expect to bring your car in anywhere and have them do work for free, so I was blown away by their generosity. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in need of a mechanic to inspect or work on your vehicle.

Irvin and everyone here have always been great to me, I always refer people in the area to get their oil changed here and for anything else they need - I just had my car broken into and had a window broken, I knew the cost would be less than my deductible, and my insurance tried to refer me somewhere to pay out of pocket... SMG did my repair same day and for less money than what I was quoted from insurance! Great service!

I was recommended to this shop by a friend. They are honest, fairly priced, and won’t try to upsell you on services your car simply doesn’t need. I was told by a different place that I needed to replace a dented oil pan for a costly fee. I took my car to SMG and they told me it wasn’t damaging my car in any way and nothing needed to be done. Everyone was patient and happy to answer all my questions. Irvin helped me figure out what size my tires were so I could order new hub caps, which they installed free of charge for me when I bought new tires. They’re the best I can’t recommend them enough. Everyone is so kind and does an outstanding job.

Don’t go here unless you want to be charged extra. These guys don’t care how much money you spend, there looking to break down your pockets to zero. Came in yesterday expecting an estimate on fixing my windows instead they charged me $100 and tried to charge me $500 for something that I could easily screw in. Mind you I spent over $900 just last week. These guys are just looking to run up as much as they can and if they think you don’t understand things. Instead of trying to help they will attempt to make you spend a bunch of money
