It’s unfortunate to see how they take advantage of customers. I was charged $331 just what they call advanced inspection. I’m at Honda and they charge only $250!!! This price tag wasn’t discussed with me at vehicle drop off. Terrible experience, never again. Update 1/24/2025: After calling them as shown in the comment below, they said there is nothing we can do about it. The store charged a fee that wasn’t disclosed before leaving the vehicle.

Just off the 85 North in South San Jose, Perfect! Just got a big ass screw in my tire on the way to work. Called on lunch and made an appointment in minutes. Had plenty of lunch time left. Fixed it on the way back home. Very quick, super clean work. Thanks Skips! 👍🏼

UPDATE: After trying to get skips to double check alignment, they just visually looked at my tires and said it was fine. Took it to a different mechanic and they said all 4 wheels were way off. Cost me another $149 to get them correct. Please dont take your vehicle here, they either dont do the services or have people who dont know how to do them! ***** Took my vehicle in for regular service early morning. Also to check brake fluid and let me know if it needed to be changed. I also decided to purchase new tires as mine were very low on tread. Waited all day and never heard anything. I called about 1 grand a half before closing and was told it was almost done. Finally was able to get my car after 6pm. When I paid, I noticed that the bill was lower than expected. No where on the bill did it say anything about checking brake fluid. Fine, I'll bring it back for that. Got home and noticed my whole front bumper and all 4 wheels covered in grease and dirt. Tried wiping off and it just smeared all over. Very sloppy and disappointed that I couldn't even get everything I requested and told would be done, finished while they had my car for the whole day. Plus to get my car back in the manner I did was also very discouraging and makes me feel I can't trust the workmanship of these employees. I like skips, but will not be taking my car to this one anymore!

Called at 11 to get an appt for 1130. Said the car would be ready by 3. Called several times. Said to come by at 6 and it would be done. 6 is the closing time. Came at 6. Had not even started to work on the car. Will never use Skips again.

I arrived just before closing. The female worked was rude and refused to sell us a tire. We even offered to buy four new tires. She kept replying, "we don't have the size you need." After my husband looked threw their stock and found the size of tire. She sent us to another tire shop over 15 miles away and was closed. We found a much closer tire shop. SUPER CHEEP TIRES a great shop stayed open to sell us a tire. The whole staff is very friendly there. Take the drive to Super Cheep Tires you will be happy you went here.

I needed a simple tire balance. I called to ask for the price, I mentioned that the tires o have are over-sized M+S, and not purchased at Skips originally, and was told ot would be ~$30 total, maybe more if they are really big. I then asked if dropping it of would be faster than making an appointment, the guy said if I were to bring it in right away, it would take a couple hours, and making an appointment would be better. I made an appointment and came at 9am Friday. I specifically asked for a faster service to get my car back asap, and the car wasn't done for over 4 hours. And I was charged $100 instead of ~30. I was misquoted and what is the point of the appointment?!

I’ve gone to Skips for over 20 years. I continue to get great customer service. Professional and personable staff. Excellent service. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for any tire service or repair!

Visited this auto shop from a Groupon service voucher that I purchased. The service is for an oil change and tire rotation. Staff was courteous, helpful and professional. All work details and additional costs were explained prior to the service. All works were done very thoroughly and as expected. Very happy with the results and will certainly revisit again in the future.

I asked them to perform the simplest procedure--front wheel balancing. I dropped off the car in the morning, and they kept it all day! Almost at 5 PM, they called me and said they hadn't even started working on my car and wouldn't be able to do anything today! They wasted my entire day; I couldn't get anything done. Now I can't even go to another service because it's already evening, and everything is closed! Terrible service, awful work planning--I do not recommend coming here. They are not professionals!

DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!! I needed wheel alignment and I had a groupon for it, first of all the guy at the front tells me they don't accept groupon for alignment then when I showed him they do then he finally finds the info and after that tells me I have to pay $45 as difference as he doesn't know how to use the coupon or i should come back 2 days later so I can speak to manager??? Please train your employees so they can do the basic tasks such as using a coupon and not make it harder for customer!! Secondly, they messed up my car badly and my cars alignment was barely off but once these guys do alignment all of sudden It gets worse and I had to keep my steering wheel far left for the car to go straight and the mechanic is telling me I need to take it to collison center because i got into an accident or hit a pot hole badly? I take my car to blossom hill location to get it done again and they fixed it just fine with no internal issues!! These guys don't know what they are doing and will gaslight you into thinking something is wrong with your car and you need to spend extra money. Worst possible service ever with no explanation of things, AVOID at any cost!!!!

I go to Skip’s auto on Cottle and I tell the lady at the register that I want to get an oil change and I wanted to wait for it. So, she tells me that they are short staff today and it’s only drop off. They had it all day. I had to call to find out if my vehicle is ready yet. She answers the phone places me on hold. Ok, then comes on tells me, I was just about to call u. Really more like u saw who is calling on the caller ID. I told her originally, I just wanted regular oil, but she did the oil change the has the works which I even told her I don’t want the with free tire rotation etc. she still had it done very expensive and $108. Wow, I don’t recommend skip’s auto. I won’t be going back to them. They charge more than the dealers.

I almost always buy tires here, because of the convenient location to my home and office, and the prices are generally competitive. That said, I personally always find getting new tires a hassle. I came in yesterday, having picked up an enormous lag bolt in a tire driving past construction, and needed a patch. Left work early and arrived at 4.30pm knowing they closed at 6pm, and they had 2 people ahead of me getting full sets, so they said the best option was to leave it overnight so they could work on it first thing when they opened today at 7.30am. Okay, not ideal, but it was a viable option since I live and work within 5 miles. Took an Uber home, and another this morning to pick up the car. Arrived at 8.30am this morning, thinking it might be done -- my car was sitting in the parking lot with the spare tire still on it, they hadn't started. It's now 9.45 am, and I'm still waiting. Flats aren't predictable, so I recognize they aren't able to accommodate everyone immediately -- I do wish my expectations had been set appropriately, so I could have Uber'd straight to the office, instead of here to Skips. Perhaps the oddest thing is there are a total of 3 chairs in the waiting area. Two were occupied by men, one of whom had his bag and coffee sitting in the 3rd chair. So I spent the first 30 min standing in the wide open & empty showroom, in heels. That's just silly.

My car engine ALL lights got on while driving on the freeway. 😭I've searched for the closest shop repair and ended up in this location. Andrew was very friendly and recommended a $221 diagnostic that ended up, in a must need a tune-up in order to make it home in Sonoma County. 3 hours later $1,000 less I headed out home, the car console check engine and all lights turned on again and I made it home under stressful driving.The problem was not fixed...I called the shop and Andrew told me I need to take it to the closer shop, 45 mi away to Albany and this shop didn't take my car cuz they're busy. So here I am renting a car havig to pay a second mechanic per Andrew direction to have another diagnosis having the mechanic to call Andrew to tell him that he didn't fix the problem and that is a major thing as the gasket head of the engine and now against my will Andrew told me that he needs to see the car so he's going to take it back to the shop in Castro Valley with same guys that didn't do a good job and I don't trust anymore, while renting and incurring in more expenses and time consuming errands. I perfectly understand that wrong diagnosis can happen but the way this shop in Morgan Hill is proceeding by not being responsible and time sensitive is not accetable. Besides the parts prices are more expensive than the dealer.. I feel they took advantage of my urgent need and ripped me off. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Be aware

Unnecessarily overpriced services. Came in for simple repairs and came back with my battery fried. Battery was working fine before.
