These folks might just be the only honest mechanics in the whole DIRTY DUVAL. They aren't the cheapest and they're not the most expensive but Mike and his crew will give it to you straight and they do what they say - which if you've had the same experience with mechanics that I have had here in Jax, puts them head and shoulders above the rest. Brought my car in for a starter replacement and they found a leak with a transmission pump they'd replaced at a prior time for me - and scheduled me to come in and have the warranty work done. There's a lot of folks who would have never said a word if I hadn't already noticed it and asked them about it... and half of those even if asked would have lied and told me that it was something else that wasn't warrantied. I put some MILES on my car so I see them regularly and they are the ONLY ones I trust to keep me on the road. Update 2025: crashed my old car that they had running so well and bought another to work on. Had taken it to Coggins Toyota... sadly I cannot suggest them for anything but just like always, Mike and Carey got me straightened right out. Thanks Shifters!

My expedition ran good but not great , they checked it out and replaced the intake fuel pump , runs better than a new one , fair and honest people work there , I would send my mother there and not worry

The best shop experience I have ever had. Mike and Antonio were very informative, explained everything for me to understand, they were true and honest gentleman. I am beyond thankful to these 1 gentleman. Thank you Shifters for everything. I would 100000% recommend to anyone and everyone..

Honest company, fair prices, great service.. I brought in my 2012 Mini Cooper. I had been there before with a different vehicle, so I knew I would get a fair price and my Mini would be in good hands . A guy named Antonio took care of me. He was friendly, informative and overall super helpful and professional.

Stay far away from this place I called just to price a transmission fluid flush and Antonio said I need my transmission rebuilt what a laugh 😆 my transmission is fine what a liar all I wanted was a fluid change STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

This is the only shop I’ll ever go to. Mike was super friendly, warm and helpful. He communicated well with me, his staff was quick and they never overcharged or upsold me for anything at all. Absolutely fair and reasonable prices for EXCELLENT service. 💯 recommend!!!

If I could leave 10 1 stars I would. I was charged $150 for a “diagnostic.” They told me it was fine. Checked my transmission fluid it was empty. Put some in it. Within 5 mins I had 4 quarts of fluid on my driveway. Brought it back up here for the second time they “fixed” it for another $380. I drove it home checked the fluid it was empty. I drove to the store and bought more transmission fluid. Before I made it home it was empty. We are getting charged for nothing. The “manager” was very rude when he was telling us that he would “fix” it. The manager is not taking any responsibility of anything. I WILL NOT BRING ANY VEHICLE UP TO SHIFTERS AGAIN. I should have went with their competitor right across the street. This place is the biggest scam in north Jacksonville.

Mike @ Shifters is totally awesome. He was honest about my repair (told me I was under warranty with manufacturer) and didnt charge me for the diagnosis. Best news I hear all day! Highy Recommend!

The only thing I can say is that they honor their warranty. And that is why I am giving two stars instead of one. I had a transmission rebuild and torque converter replaced. It took half a dozen return trips to get everything right. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

Took my 08 Grand Marquis for a transmission rebuild. I was recommended by my mechanic to get my car diagnosed here. Car had issues shifting into drive upon start up and up/downshifting while driving. Two weeks later, car suddenly stopped shifting at 247000, I've owned @ 140k miles for about 8 years so I wasn't surprised after the warning signs. What did surprise me was how quick the repair was done. They were really helpful getting my vehicle towed to the shop. In 3 days, the transmission was rebuilt and drives/shifts smoother than it ever did before. Car no longer shakes at high speeds and rides like new. These guys do honest work and have exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this shop!

I went here and Mike kept in constant contact with me the entire time. They advised me of what my problem was and the estimated amount it would be to get the repairs done. I was so happy because it was almost $1000 less than what I was quoted by 3 other repair shops! They are honest and reliable. Thanks for all that you do for the community!

They R a local business that is growing with good reason. I have used them in the past and always been VERY happy. Just used the new location and the only difference I can see is somehow Mike made it better. They R honest and do great work...they use quality parts that last I would not go to another shop even if they were 1/2 the price. For me to leave a review good or bad the business needs to leave an impression
