Happy I found Caner. Before doing any work, he spent a lot of time talking to me on the phone to make sure he had a deep understanding of my car's issues. He gave an honest diagnosis and provided me with multiple options to repair my vehicle. Unlike other shops, he won't recommend a repair or service just to recommend it. He only uses quality parts. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else in Sarasota.

Caner was amazing! He went above and beyond after my dad car broke down and we had to find a way to tow it to his shop. He was honest and the price was reasonable. But I definitely recommend and use caner again for any of my car problems.

I rate this small business 5/5 stars. Caner was hospitable and professional as well as very knowledgeable and thorough. From the initial telephone conversation to arriving at the shop to checking out, Caner was friendly and informative. We were experiencing A/C problems in our family minivan out of town on a road trip, therefore our trusted mechanic back home suggested we locate a NAPA AutoCare Center. We contacted Sharky’s Speed Shop in Sarasota, FL, and we are glad we did. I am glad Sharky’s Speed Shop was able to perform our air conditioning system service.

Caner is amazing! I took my car to 2 other places before hearing about him for my broken sunroof and both of the other shops told me they couldn’t do anything and to take it to my car’s dealership to get it fixed for $2500. Then Caner saved the day I took my car to his shop dropped it off before my shift and halfway through it get a text that he fixed it for a 16th of the cost. Over all super knowledgeable and helpful guy. I will be bringing my cars to him from now on.

I have never had an experience with a mechanic like the one I had last week at Sharky's Speed Shop. I found the shop on Google looking for a place near my house that might be able to look at a small mechanical issue that I had with my windshield wipers. When Caner answered the phone and told me I could head over at 3 in the afternoon I was surprised and relieved, because the issue came up last minute before a long road trip to Maine and I didn't expect to be able to get someone to look at it in time. I guess speed is in the shop name though, so we were off to a good start. He fixed the problem easily and immediately and didn't even charge me! When I told him that I was going for a long drive he offered to check under the hood. I had already taken the car to another mechanic and had them do what I thought was a thorough look over and was under the impression that my car was roadworthy and ready for a 1600 mile drive. Caner told me immediately upon examining under the hood that my serpentine belt was cracked and needed replacing urgently. This is a very scary prospect to imagine being on the road with a full car load of stuff and potentially not having steering. It was a miracle that I came to his shop. It was also really unnerving to think that I had gone to another mechanic and they had completely missed this issue or ignored it. There were other things that I had had a friend do prior to the trip that were done inadequately and he sorted them out with alacrity and economy; I learned a hard lesson about letting friends do mechanical work on your car. Never again. For one example, my friend offered to top up my Freon and ended up destroying the Schrader valve and expelling all the Freon from my truck in a street spectacle that could have gotten me arrested. Long story longer, Caner replaced my air compressor with a brand new one under warranty, replaced my serpentine belt, topped up my transmission fluid, changed my oil filter, and got my AC blowing icy cold and my windshield wipers fixed and a couple other necessary things that I didn't understand and charged me wholesale cost for parts and a staggeringly low rate for labor. I hope in writing this review I am not setting a precedent for him to make less money based on what I've written about his rates, but I want to be honest about my experience and wow this guy really went above and beyond. It was more than I had anticipated spending, but WAY less than what it was worth and probably a quarter what it would have cost anywhere else. Such is life with a 19 year old car, right? He is definitely worthy of becoming your mechanic for any issue large or small and unequivocally the person I will be bringing my old truck to in the future. His friendliness, timeliness, honesty and fair dealing were delightful and refreshing in an industry of often surly and dishonest interactions.

Stellar experience all around. My car is closing on on 100k miles and I want to keep in the best possible condition. Caner walked me through some general maintenance we could do to keep the car running another 100k miles. He provided a detailed quote and was flexible about scheduling as I knew I'd be without a car for possibly two days. He finished faster than anticipated and even shared photos of the work he was doing. I can't say enough good things about Sharky's. My car feels brand new! Thank you, Caner!

My mechanic closed down shop and we gave him a call because of the reviews and boy am I glad we did. He took the time out of his day to take a look at our car and immediately knew what was wrong. Instead of trying to make money he told us it was not worth fixing while the dealership tried charging us 4 thousand dollars. He will be the guy I go to for now on and could not thank him enough.

Came in for an oil change and voiced my concerns about my engine ticking. Caner took the time to check everything out & top off fluids. He’s very detail oriented & friendly-Very knowledgeable & explains what needs to be done. Definitely will recommend him to friends & family.

After going to many mechanics the past few months to solve my cars issues, paying crazy amounts of money and not getting my car fixed, I found Caner through a friend. Caner obviously really loves what he does and does it from the heart. He took me in the exact same day I called and took the time to explain me everything in detail about why my car might act the way it was acting and then took the whole afternoon to really look at my car and find the issue. The next day it was all ready for pick up! Super professional, caring and honest. And very fairly priced!! I was so desperate before and just wanted to dump the car and am so happy I found Sparkys and grateful to Caner for showing that mechanics can actually really care about their customers! Thank you!

After trying few mechanics in sarasota, finally we found the best one! My wifes car keep having troubles for a while. We tried few big well known shops here in town some couldn’t find the problem and some claimed they did and after we fixed nothing changed and we lost money. A friend recommended us to go to sharkys and we cant be more happy that we did. Caner immediately find the problems. He was always in touch with us through phone and let us know about everything. He fixed our car with minimum expenses and at the same day! He took time to show us everything he did, teach us a lot about our car and you could really see he cares! We appreciate you caner!! So good to find a professional and honest mechanic that you can trust! And. A great dude!! 10/10!!

Best shop in town! Fair and knowledgeable. He made my sad car a happy one, and was a genuinely nice guy during the whole process which can often be painful. I will definitely be bringing back my well loved vehicles for some much needed TLC again in the future.

Great business!! Sharky's replaced the timing chain on our 07 Honda CRV and did a full valve adjustment as well as spark plugs, oil change and new cabin and air filter. Even at 265k miles it runs better than ever. I dropped the car off Tuesday night and got a text just before i got off work on Wednesday that it was ready to pick up. I was honestly very surprised at the turn around time. 10/10 will use again

Had a great experience at Sharkys. Had a window issue where the motor went out as we pulled out of the driveway over the weekend and window would not close. Called a local NAPA store and they recommended Sharkys. Called the store and owner answered even though they were closed. I explained my issues and said to bring in Monday. Got in first thing and had it looked at and gave me my options which was to replace the motor. Could have had it rebuilt but said more than likely it would eventually go out again. Very reasonable charge vs a dealership and done same day. Also had him check my engine out and said all was good except needed a quart of oil. Highly recommend this local business, you will be impressed. I’ll be using them in the future for all tune ups and oil changes. And he does most any vehicle repairs.

I grew up with Caner, ever since middle school he has had a passion for cars, trucks, motorcycles you name it. He has been working on vehicles since I can remember. Even though I haven't made it down to his new shop yet as I'm in Ohio I know his quality of work more than anyone. Caner is like a brother to me, in fact he is my brother so I stand behind his work. He's always done work on my cars in high school. Oil changes, brakes, etc. Anything you can think of to do to a car he has done it. He's worked hard his entire life and is a very honest and trustworthy guy. I am sure his prices are fair and you won't be disappointed in the quality of his work. If I could give him higher than a five star review I would!

I was having a ton of issues with my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Caner fixed my tire pressure sensor issues, fixed my taillight issues, and removed a tow system the previous owner installed. I'm already scheduled my preventative maintenance and so appreciate his patience and insight on how to keep my Wrangler running smoothly. Highly recommended!!!
