I was very skeptical when I realized I would be dropping off our car at his residence but upon arriving I realized his home is separate from his business and there’s a sign in the front that states come to the back for the garage and I mention that because of a bad review which is why they probably didn’t get service because they were waiting out front of his home. My first thought was “ oh no, a back yard mechanic”! Once I realized the garage was in the back and after talking with him I realized he wasn’t a fly-by-night Mr. fix it. He was very helpful and very friendly especially after I made a mistake of ordering the wrong part but he did not let that slow him down at all in fact he had the old part waiting for me so that I only had to make one trip to the part store instead of numerous trips back-and-forth which was a big help considering the busy and hectic day we already had ahead of us. He was very professional, dependable, honest, hard-working, organized did an amazing job in a timely manner, he had the alternator replaced in the car before I even made it back home. My husband and I are very grateful to Rob for his help and we would definitely recommend him to anyone who is in need of a mechanic. He did an amazing job at a reasonable price. We will most definitely return for any and all car repairs needed. Thank you Rob !!! Just picked up my moms car 3rd time having rob work on our cars and he is simply amazing he did a great job on her car as well. He takes great pride in his work and prices are very reasonable and he very friendly and helpful goes above and beyond will definitely return as needed. Had a bad wheel bearing replaced for a very competitive rate at a very competitive pace, dropped vehicle off Tuesday evening an he was waiting on me that coming Thursday so let's say 2 days flat and when I say he was waiting on me I mean literally after business hour's waited on me saving me an additional 35$ for not picking up my vehicle upon completion although that fee might start the following day

I called yesterday set up a time with the mechanic told me to come at 9 o’clock sharp. I get here at 8 o’clock because I work at nursing home at night as a nurses an waited for the time of my appointment. As soon as 9:30 A.M comes I call no answer call again 3 more time no answer. If you’re going tell someone to come at a certain time make sure you’re able to get up an do your job. It’s been almost 100 degree this year with no A/C in my car is horrible such a let down.——————————————————————————————— Update: Quite funny that you respond nine months later how can you remember anything that has happen 9 months later. To make a statement that I was rude cancel that you were just unprofessional and wasn’t prepared just say that don’t lie.

Very reliable and tells you upfront what is actually wrong with your vehicle. Breaks down the cost and labor before working on the vehicle. My car had no lights on the front and I wasn’t able to drive at night. I dropped my car off that morning and by the afternoon I was up and running. I definitely appreciate him because I had to be to work that evening downtown and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to make it because of the lights but he fixed and now I’m all over the city lol. I definitely recommend this business and any future problems I will come to him. Thanks Rob.

I highly recommend Using robs automotive he’s an honest and fair priced mechanic who does great work at a competitive price. He’s works on both of my vehicles and I won’t take them to anyone else. He has solved many issues with my Tahoe and is very knowledgeable on repairs. Anyone who needs work done I send them His way. It’s great having a mechanic that’s straight forward with you on repairs and pricing. Definitely check him out if your in needs of repairs.

Rob is an excellent Auto Technician and very friendly. He diagnosed the problem in just a couple of minutes, and he repaired my vehicle in less than an hour. (My vehicle had already been misdiagnosed by another shop.) I will definitely recommend him to everyone.

I called Rob up after reading the reviews here and all I can say he is awesome. He was very nice. He took care of my car and he did not try to scam me or add on things to make an extra buck. I will trust him with my car for now on, he is now My Mechanic!!!!!!!!

If you want to avoid overpaying for car maintenance, DO NOT take your vehicle to dealerships in the Charleston area! Use Rob's Automotive Service! One my wife's co-workers recommended Rob's Automotive Service, and he definitely did not disappoint. From first meeting him I was confident that our SUV was in good hands. Friendly customer service, detailed explanation of the required work, and more than fair pricing. Our vehicle is at 145K+ miles, and it drives just as good as it did when it was at 1450 mi. When I went to pick up the vehicle he even showed me the old parts that were replaced. The whole process was completely transparent which was appreciated. I definitely will be using his services again soon.

Had A/C issue with the compressor. Excellent work. Rob has always told me exactly what the issue was with my car and I have NEVER had a problem with his work. He is the best auto electric & mechanic that I have ever had working on my cars. His prices are reasonable and often much lower than his competitors. He will not try to sell you something that you really don't need. He is an honest man. He cares about the work he does. I had a car that I used for work. When I traded it in with 313,000 miles on it..the car dealer asked me how I made it the 313K? My answer is that I have a great mechanic.

Top notch mechanic, clearly knowledgeable and will not sell you stuff you don't need. Was referred by a coworker and friend. Expedient work, will explain everything in detail before he starts work. He even fixed a small problem caused by a broken piece of plastic that was apparently keeping the break lights on. Replaced it with metal at no charge. Cannot recommend enough, don't let the fact that he runs his shop out of his backyard spook you. He's got the proper setup and tools to get the job done. Liscenced, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and professional are just a few words I would use to describe Rob. You have made a customer for life today. Whoever wrote that one star review can ride a bicycle.

Above and beyond! I've been using Rob for my automotive repairs (and believe me there have been many thanks to my Grand Cherokee) since 2011. I've never once had any issues, rudeness or unfair pricing from him. He takes care of his customers and doesn't nickle and dime you like a lot of places. Won't go anywhere else!

He was very friendly told me my intake manifold was cracked when it wasnt it was a simple vacuum line came undone tried to charge me $900 I informed him it wasn’t the manifold and he told me not to bother him very rude be careful with this guy!
