Been coming here for years. Decades, if you count all the times I’ve returned with my car from out of town, like today. I trust them to tell me what is needed and give me a fair price. This is my first post ever because I just have to share, not because they need it. The work and customer service is top notch. Great to see my old friend, Walter, again!

Walter is the best mechanic I’ve ever had. I used to work at a dealership which included vehicle servicing, and I like to work on my own cars when I can - but when a job is over my head I call Walter, and always get a fair price, including options for aftermarket or used when appropriate, and have 100% trust in his shop. He has taken care of my sister’s cars as well, and I recommend any of my SF friends here when they need service or help with their cars.

Walter is amazing. AMAZING. I took my car here after getting an astronomical quote from the dealer for what seemed like an uncomplicated repair. (Yes, I know a dealer is always more expensive, but this quote was beyond normal.) I walked over to Richardson Automotive and asked Walter what he would charge for the repairs the dealer said I needed. He quoted me a very fair price AND said that he suspected something the dealer wanted to fix likely didn't need fixing. I gave Walter the go-ahead, and sure enough, he inspected the car and the thing didn't need fixing! Walter had my car for less than a day and fixed all the things that actually needed fixing. He was professional, kind, empathetic and just an all-around nice and honest person who cares about doing right by his customers. Walter is my new best friend -- and I will not be taking my car anywhere else from now on! If I could give Walter more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I really cannot thank him enough for restoring my faith in car repair professionals. Not all heroes wear capes!

We went in for a flare tire; Walter was SO helpful. He located the issue, explained what we’d need to do and why, and put on a spare tire. He was so generous, we will definitely be going back here!

Saved me a large chunk of change after I got a second opinion from another shady shop. Turns out I didn’t need all the maintenance that the original store recommended. Didn’t charge me for the opinion and will definitely be coming here in the future. Thanks Walter.

Walter is awesome. He tells you what’s wrong with your car and has fair prices. Hell even suggest when it’s better to just buy a new car vs paying to fix the current one. Once, my check engine came on and I took it to him the same day I called. He ran a diagnostic and it came up clean. Didn’t even charge me for his time. He’s a good guy, I will always take my cars to him!

Walter is one of the most reliable and honest mechanic out there. He remembers the smallest detail and exactly what car I drive when I would call him up out of the blue to make an appointment. I'm glad to met and have Walter's shop so close by. I would recommend him to anyone who will listen. Heck, if my mom still drives...thank goodness she does not, I would totally tell her to go to Walter to get her car serviced there!

Called them at 5:45 with a cheese grater noise under the car, did not want to drive back to Reno. They found the issue immediately so I could safely get home. FABULOUS SERVICE

Dropped my car off for an airbag problem. Richardson couldn’t fix it but in return did not charge me for the diagnostic. I call that fair and ethical work. Will use again! NB: Don’t forget to call ahead for an appointment

Fixed the main issue with my vehicle and even took care of a future problem on the house. Walter was super helpful and i would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone. The one downside is the wait for a spot to be available, but i found that to be the case at every shop.

Hands down the best auto shop I’ve ever gone to. Walter is attentive, knowledgeable, and super friendly. He has not only helped out with car troubles, but given me sage advice on various aspects of the car (like types of tires to buy). I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else unless it’s something specific the dealer had to do, maybe. They stay pretty busy, so I would try and schedule an appointment 2-3 weeks in advance.

Richardson’s in the auto service I’ve been looking for. As a woman, I feel it is common for auto repair places to dismiss my concerns, upset me, and mansplain everything. The owner here gives great, honest assessments with realistic recommendations and he never upsells. I feel very confident coming here for service, knowing I’ll never be belittled or told my car requires service that is completely unnecessary. 10/10, Highly recommend.
