I have been going to Re-Born Automotive for a few years now. Every time has been a positive experience and it starts with the employees at the front desk. They are professional, welcoming and knowledgable. All the work performed on my car has been has been fast and efficient and the one time there was an issue(a part was not tightened enough) Re-Born took care of it right away.

I have never been a customer of Re-Born’s, but I was a mechanic for them on and off for 10 years. The on and off was in no way due to being unhappy with my employer, it was my own life taking me different directions. I have since moved to Kansas, otherwise I would still be with Re-Born almost certainly until the day I retire. I started with them at 20 years old as a shop helper, knowing next to nothing about how to work on cars. Over the last almost 11 years, I have grown tremendously in my career and I’m now the lead technician at my current shop in Kansas. I credit every bit of my knowledge and skillset to Re-Born. They took me in as a young, irresponsible, and un-knowledgeable kid, and built me up to the technician that I am today. I remember my first tool box, Vince gave me a personal loan for it out of his own pocket. Through many mistakes and growing pains of a 20 year old kid becoming a 31 year old man, they have stuck by my side and never given up on me. As an employer, I can’t say enough good about these guys. They treat their employees with great respect, and they truly are a family just with a bunch of different last names. Vince (who was the owner for the duration of my tenure) had truly become a father figure to me. Hans (Vince’s son and the now owner of Re-Born) has become a brother to me. The entire Vierck family has become family to me, just as every coworker I had at Re-Born had become a big family. As I have said, I have never been a customer of Re-Born, only an employee. But I have seen how Re-Born treats their customers and the very real care that they have for them. I have seen the way they fix cars compared to other shops I have been at throughout my career (remember the off and on for 10 years part). Re-Born does the work right, the first time, every time. I will always recommend Re-Born to anyone in Portland that asks me what shop to go to. And I will always view Re-Born with the highest respect and the utmost gratitude for what they have done for me and my career. Hans, Vince, Becky, I love you guys. Can’t wait to come back to Portland and see you guys again soon!

This place is great! I had a horrible experience with my previous shop, Botta Motor Works, that I wasn't sure if I could trust any mechanic again. Then I found Reborn Automotive, and what a relief it was! From the moment I walked in, their communication was exceptional. They are completely transparent and honest, which made me feel at ease right away. They kept me updated constantly, not just through their portal, but also with text messages and photos of the work being done. Their service is truly above and beyond, and they always get the car back to you on time, just as promised. I can’t recommend Re-born Automotive enough if you’ve had bad experiences elsewhere, give them a try. They’ve definitely earned my trust!

Re-Born is a honest shop. There have been a couple of times they got an authorization and then found a low probability, low cost issue instead. They could have just done the original authorized work and I would never have known.

Brought my Prius in for a Red Warning Triangle and other symptoms pointing towards a potential battery issue. My 12V battery was shot so they replaced that. All fine and dandy. But then they also attempted to massively overcharge for other basic repairs ($1,100 to replace my rear drum brakes!?) And then they tried to scare me into paying to fix a coolant pump and valve that was - by their own admission - checked and fully functional, only because the codes they received could have been that issue, and it's a common failing point for Priuses. Except low coolant levels are well known to throw this P1121 code too. I found this out within 5 minutes of googling the code. And guess what I saw today after checking the engine? Critically low coolant in both reserviors. This should have just been filled immediately at the shop to eliminate that as a potential cause for the code. To add insult to injury, they were trying to charge $1,113 for this repair which included $430 + $183 for the two parts. The Toyota OEM parts, on the other hand, are currently selling for $223 and $112 respectively at MSRP from a Toyota parts website. Almost half of the price. And when my partner came to pick up the car, the salesperson strongly advised her not to drive the car, implying that if those parts fail it would kill the car completely. Even though those parts do not affect the car's driveability or reliability at all. It's job is to store hot coolant so the engine can warm up faster. That's it. Pictures attached for proof. I unfortunately will be needing to find another mechanic. I do not understand how this shop has such high reviews.

The awesome team at Re-Born replaced the Sideview mirror on my delivery vehicle. The counter person was extremely helpful explaining the process to get me safely back on the road. The estimate he gave me was what the final bill came to. I assumed it would be a primer replacement and l would need to attempt to match the paint and spray it at a latter date. I was so surprised and happy when l pick up my car and the paint was a near perfect match! Re-Born is now my go to shop for any future automotive repair needs! Great job guys!
