I had a problem with the liftgate on my suv. I went there to have it hopefully repaired, but the manager on duty said “let’s see what’s going on”, he escorted me to the suv and began to check it out. It took him less than 5 minutes to fix things for me. I’m so grateful for his attitude and help. I’ll always go to Pope-Davis first for automotive repair.

My service was horrible. I would never recommend this business. I’m from Columbia and I was traveling back home to NC. I had a leak in my tire which I was told it was unable to be plugged but had to purchase a new tire. I had to go to another business only to find out the tire was able to be plugged. Glad this store didn’t have a tire in stock!! The employees were trying to take my money instead of looking out for what’s best for the customer. Absolutely horrible service !!! Would not recommend to anyone!!

Don’t take your car here if you’re a pregnant woman they will try to take your money. Worst experience ever 00000 stars from me . I just needed my tires balanced they told my step dad 69.00 they told me a mechanical fee and lug nuts were included which comes out to 606.00

Extremely Poor Customer Service I recently visited Pope-Davis Tire & Automotive on Hardscrabble Rd. in Columbia, SC and had the misfortune of dealing with an exceptionally rude and unprofessional manager. Despite my patience and courtesy, the manager displayed a shocking lack of respect and professionalism. When I’m asking questions about my car’s battery I kept getting interrupted and his response was as I said we will recommend you use the this band battery. On November 16, 2024, I brought my vehicle to the shop for oil change and head light replacement and battery check. Unfortunately, the manager failed to listen attentively to my concerns; address my questions; and provide clear explanations. Instead, he Interrupted me repeatedly; spoke condescendingly; and seemed dismissive; sexiest and uninterested. This experience fell far short of expectations, and I would caution others against visiting this location. Effective management and basic customer respect are essential. Until improvements are made, I cannot recommend Pope-Davis Tire & Automotive located on Hardscrabble Rd. Columbia SC 1/5 stars

My tire had a huge leak during work on 77. Pressure went from 34 to 4 within 2 minutes. Took back in to Pope after putting on spare and they patchedy tire and inflated my spare sms had me back to work in half an hour. They weee very professional putting up with me because needless to say I was flustered changing a tire on 77 in khaki work pants.

My visit to this facility was rewarding. The service was above what I had expected. I had my rear tires replaced. The work took no longer 45 minutes. I will return to gety front ones replaced. I will recommend to family and friend's

Really fast service headlight replacement, under 1/2 hr... Would be 5 stars but I'm old school & remember DIY bulb replacements under $20. This (typical market price nowadays) was touching $90 labor only, I got the bulbs elsewhere. Ouch!

I’m unfortunately leaving this review because of a misdiagnosis of my truck issue. I brought it in suspecting Starter issues and was told nothing was wrong with the Starter. They said I needed a full engine replacement that would cost over $8000. After taking it to another mechanic they were able to show that the Starter was indeed the problem and fixed it for a fraction of the cost. They even sent me a video showing the difference between my malfunctioning Starter and a good one. I’ve used Pope Davis in the past and they have been helpful and courteous. That is the reason I left 2 stars. But charging for a diagnosis and telling me I needed a new engine when the Starter was the real issue is a huge miss. ----- Update: An associate from Pope Davis called me today to make sure they understood what was happening with my vehicle. I was able to explain to them what was missing when they initially checked everything. He listened very intently and apologized for any confusion or miscommunication. I did appreciate this as it shows they care about making sure they catch when something can be done better. I appreciate the professionalism. I will be updating my review to 3 stars.

Took vehicle in early this month for a alignment and once I got paperwork I asked how far it was off and was told "I don't know" and paperwork did not show anything just 100.00 payment. So left in the dark on how far it was off. They could've done nothing and I wouldn't know.
