I don't know what kind of management this place has but they say one thing then they say another thing. I called 3 times to schedule just a check up was told no cost for a check up and one hour to check my suspension. Then I show up the day of my appointment and they are like "well, we don't know exactly but it might take more time, blah, blah this and that" basically letting me know that it might take a while. Then he tells me it's $34.99 for the check up. I stayed quiet because I just didn't want to keep arguing and going back and forth over what was said and who said it. Bottom line is, I'm not coming here after today.

Excellent professional service. They didn’t have my tire in stock, but they ordered it in an arrived right away. It could have arrived same day, but I chose to make an appointment for the following day. Very prompt service. This is by far my Pep Boys location of choice

My car was towed to the West Hillsborough store for re-work after the Brandon location (1747 W Brandon Blvd-don't ever go there) "fixed" a coolant leak. My car broke down the next morning. Anthony, Karl and Alan were friendly, professional and honest. They took care of the issue and found another issue that the Brandon location overlooked! Arrangements were supposedly made to tow my car back to me (since I don't live near there) and the ball was dropped, again, by the Brandon location. Karl went above and beyond and drove my car to my house! I am so appreciative of the service I recieved from this shop! Excellent customer service and communication!

Went to This PEP BOYS....ON HILLSBOROUGH...AVE TAMPA FLA......CAR NEEDED SOME THINGS REPAIRED...NEW YEARS... ENGINE LIGHT ON AND OFF...LOUD SQUELLING NOISE WHEN BACKING UP...I SAW ALL SORTS OF ANSWERS TO WHAT WAS WRONG..ON YOUTUBE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG....ANTHONY THE MANAGER..WENT OUT AND CHECKED IT HIMSELF..TOLD ME TO COME IN THE NEXT DAY..I DID EARLY....CARL WAS WORKING THAT DAY..AND GOT THE REPAIR STARTED RIGHT AWAY...HE HAD JAMES ONE OF THIER EXPERTS .FIX IT WITHIN A FEW HOURS...CAR NEEDED. .SPARK PLUGS..TUNE UP ..AND NEW BRAKES AND ROATER...NEW PARTS ordered AND INSTALED.....I was BACK on the road .AROUND LUNCHTIME....MY THANKS TO ANTHONY, CARL AND TECH JAMES....IF YOU NEED YOUR CAR FIXED...GO TO THIS GREAT PEP BOYS LOCATION..

Absolutely horrid service. Left my car here to be serviced came back to the whole front bumper damaged. They didn’t even tell me. I had to go check on the car to learn this. Management now claiming they are not responsible for the car that was in their possession the entire time.

Had an amazing experience at Pep Boys! Anthony and James went above and beyond when replacing my brakes, rotors, and fixing my calipers. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and made sure everything was done right. They took the time to explain the process and even gave me some great tips for future maintenance. Not all pep boys are the same this location is 👍 Anthony took good Care of me and offers military discount. Another pep boys location just wanted me to purchase a tire instead of just repairing with a patch.

Pep Boys not very trustworthy. Bought 3 new Michelin tires from them (1 tire purchased in 2022 and 2 tires purchased in 2023) and two of them had no tread left on them in 2024. These must have been retread tires or Pep Boys never changed out my original tires. Either way the only response I received was it was my fault and I needed new tires. No way Pep Boys what i needed was to not purchase any more tires from you. My suv is only 7 years old with a little more than 72,000 miles on it. I do not drive enough to wear tires down in a year or two. If I can't trust you with tires for my vehicle, I surely can't trust with anything else for my vehicle.

The best Pep Boys in Tampa! Anthony and Carl provided exceptional customer service. They made my purchase fun, entertaining, and displayed patience with my rebate cards and my error of not fully reading the instructions to redeem the cards (sorry guys) They are fantastic and deserve to be recognized!

Today I had an appointment for brake service. A month ago I had gotten tires at a different pep boys location, where I was advised I needed a lot of work done, including brakes. So a month later I came into this location for service. Anthony let me know that I did NOT need new brakes, in fact I had 60% life still on them, and that I needed no additional work done either. He even brought me into the bay to let me see my brake pads up close. He said that he could not in good conscience sell me new pads or unnecessary services. Unfortunately I do not remember the mechanics name who was working on my car, but he was also forthright and honest. I cannot express how grateful I am for this kind of integrity. He may not have gotten a sale today, but he absolutely won me over as a customer for anything in the future.

After a bad experience with the location in Pinellas, Anthony took care of my vehicle and worked on it asap. Same day with no appointment and even though he had a lobby full of people and he was working the counter alone he took care of everyone and was polite and helpful! 10/10 recommend this location!

Anthony and Gabriel are amazing people! They helped me patch up my tire after spending hours at another shop waiting to see if they could fix it! Finally they called and said they couldn’t, in tears I called Pep Boys as a last resort. Anthony ensured he could fix my flat tire even though it was 6pm and they closed in an hour. It comes down to a person being understanding and willing to take the initiative to make someone’s day better, and Anthony went above in beyond for me today. Absolutely stellar customer service I will be coming back, even though it’s a 30 minutes drive it’s worth the extra drive to have kind people taking car of my car.

Fleet customer for 10 years we have had out trucks serviced here. I can no longer trust this location it has become one of the worst businesses I know of. First problem with them about 2 months ago is I took a tire to them that had a nail in the center of the tire completely repairable. It also had a piece of a staple that was in the tread only and didn't penetrative in to the tire. They tried to tell me the tire wasn't repairable complete bs. I took it and fixed myself in 20 minutes. Most recently in the past week we took a truck there provided them the codes for the truck on Friday. I was told they would told someone would call me in them morning by 9am and let me know what they found. No phone call so I called them to get a status around 10am. No idea they said they would find out an call me back shortly. No call I called again at 2pm they would have it done and back to me during the weekend. Again I check on it (not once did they call me) I'm told they won't have it done until sometime Monday. Unacceptable my employee stat work at 630am. Manager calls me from home and says he will find a way to get it done and proceeds to tell me all his problems - overworked 70 hours a week - his othe manage overworked - employees stealing business in the parking lot - techs won't come to work And on and one. Guy Alan has a crappy attitude and talking bad about his employer and employees. I don't want to here it. They did get it done at 6pm on Sunday but not without a lot of crap. The next week I took my truck in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Had a 9am appointment and drop off at 845am. 1pm and no call again zero communication. I call and they haven't even looked at it. 4 hours and a 9am appointment this is crappy service. Alan again tells me how they haven't finished all the cars from the day before and his problems. Nothing that should be discussed with a customer. Alan is an incompetent manager. I went down and picked up my truck he couldn't find the keys. No service was provided. I will take it elsewhere. Called fleet services to make a complaint the lady there listened to the issues and was professional and apologetic. She did call back and said the regional manager responsible for the store would call me. That never happened. The management in Tampa is horrible and needs to be replaced. This store should be closed. We are done with PepBoys. They clearly don't care about the customer. You should avoid this store.

Guys and gals, do yourself a favor and go see Anthony at Pep Boys on Hillsborough Ave near Dale Mabry Highway. It’s rare to see customer service like this these days. I watched every single customer that was there that day leave with a smile and one particular women gave him a hug before she left. Good stuff, I tell you. Now, there are slot of people in Tampa these days so they are a busy place. Best to leave your car in their hands and go have lunch or go shopping w a friend if you don’t like sitting and waiting. There is a litt Jamaican spot a few doors down that has great food, check it out.

My experience with Anthony, G.M., has been nothing but excellent customer service & wonderful experience when dealing with my tire issues. I first met Anthony at Tire Choice. From the minute I stepped in I knew I was in good hands. Today I had a tire emergency & stopped at Pep Boys & to my surprise Anthony was there as G.M. The service I received was 5 stars. I recommend Anthony to help with your needs at Pep Boys. Very knowledgeable & personable. Hard to find great help & Anthony is the Best!!!

The mechanics are excellent, but there is a receptionist who claims to be Puerto Rican and is the most rude person I have ever met. I called by phone and he got upset and hung up on me and when I went to the store he treated me with a total lack of respect. It is unfortunate that the good service of the mechanics is tarnished by this unpleasant person.

We couldn't pass up the amazing deal on 4 new tires with warranty, installation and alignment. We were in and out in an hour. I would highly recommend!
