Took my car in this morning for flat tire, was helped by Emily, she was fast, efficient, and very friendly. They patched my tire the price was very good. I now have a new place to service my car. So happy they were open on Sunday that makes it very convenient and not wait till Monday. Thank you Emily and Pep Boys staff.

Sunday call January 26, 2025 I made an appointment for several items to be addressed. Pep Boys only completed three of the items which was the oil change, tire rotation and driver side headlight bulb. At 2:57 I paid for my services. At 3:41 I received an inspection where the technician notated on the inspection sheet that there was a dirty air filter. It was only after I arrived home, I reviewed the receipt and inspection sheet that I noticed the technician’s notation. I called Pep Boys and was told I needed to make a second appointment. I I asked them why I wasn’t contacted so I could approve it to be changed out? She just apologized and then explain that I would have to make a second appointment. Reluctantly, I made the appointment for the next day. I arrived for the 2nd appointment the next day at around 12:30. I asked them to correct the air filter deficiency, and for them to Check the windshields water nozzle or hose because the water was barely coming out of the spout. She mentioned it might be a clog but that they would let me know the results. I asked her how long it would take she said approximately one hour and I told her that I would wait. About 1-1/2 hours later, my vehicle was completed. I asked her what was the result with the windshield water nozzle; she said it was clogged, but they didn’t have time to do it and I would have to make a 3rd appointment. I then asked what the charge would be, she said it would be around $113 to include the spout and an additional labor cost. I explained how ridiculous this was because I was physically there and they didn’t bother to notify me of anything. Pep Boys staff wasn’t even going to mention it to me until I asked about it. That is when she said they could schedule another appointment for following day. I explained that I would not be returning and this was ridiculous.

I made an appointment for 11am. I got there and they said they wouldn’t even be able to start it for at least 30 minutes and it probably wouldn’t be done for an hour and a half. What’s the point of making an appointment in the first place? Why even have the option?

I was very happy with my experience at Pep boys! Oscar L. was the mechanic working on my car and did an amazing job. I had a few concerns with my car and was just happy to know that all my concerns were addressed and was very satisfied with my overall service. The staff was very pleasant and really worked with me to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive and even found me a great discount to help with the cost.

I was quoted 45 minutes to an hour to get my tire patched and I sat in the lobby for 2 1/2 hours. Like I had told the staff, I don't care if it were to take longer, but I wish that someone would've told me that versus me sitting there for that long and no one communicating with me. This is the last time I will come to Pep Boys.

It was really just OK. The staff was friendly and kind, but not proactive and took a LONG time. It took me 3.5 hours when I called in advance and was told an appointment was not necessary/ only to be asked when I arrive if I had an appointment. Ultimately, I felt everything was the absolute bare minimum they could have done and didn’t go above and beyond for ANY expectation. Guess you can get the job done here but be wary of high labor charges.

Our go to for the last 7 years. On ElCajon Blvd ONLY. Went to the on Genesee near Balboa and they tried to take advanced of my elderly spouse. I had to go up there and take care of that. They said they did an oil change and DID NOT. I got a refund and went back to Elcajon Blvd Pep boys!! Jose is tha MAN!

Really helpful staff. I could not get what I needed here but the lady at the counter was above and beyond helping me. I really appreciate the transparency and friendliness. On a previous visit I also received great service getting my tire patched. Would recommend!

Was not greeted for a while when I walked in. Neither of the two people working even acknowledged me standing there. It was not clear to me that tire rotation does not include balancing. I've actually always assumed that both are done. Needs to be clear. But, what was done (oil change and tire rotation) was fast.

💯😊👍 I think Pep Boys on El Cajon Blvd is amazing. My friend introduced me to this branch years ago when he needed a new battery. At that time, Tony was working, and he helped us quickly. I liked their professional and speedy assistance and effort. Later, I started coming here for oil changes, annual maintenance, new tires, and more, replacing my dealership's services. My last visit about a month ago.. I brought my Hyundai Elantra GT had a loose steering wheel issue, needed new tires, and required a shock absorber replacement etc. I was concerned about the cost, service timeline, and potential other major issues. Jose listened me very carefully, check my former maintenance logs & provided me with excellent information about almost everything, including maintenance steps, expected cost, and the service timeline. He also included free diagnostic services to check for potential other issues. I got my car back the next day, and it felt like it was brand new with new tires and no issues at all. The service quality is top-notch, and over the years, my car still runs smoothly. I am very happy with the service provided by Pep Boys on El Cajon Blvd. I highly recommend them for any car maintenance needs, and I am so thankful to JOSE - LUIS and the entire Pep Boys team.

Do not go to this location, staff is unwilling to honor road side hazard warranty even though I have the receipt. Called the Pep boys I bought the tires from back in Florida and told them about what was happening and they were astonished saying "maybe they should actually do thier jobs instead of being lazy." Overall terrible experience at this location. Went to another one and got my tires handled just fine.

I went here for a Flexdrive vehicle inspection on Tuesday and was told the only person that could do them went home sick. I should come back tomorrow. I come back Wednesday morning first thing and the guy at the front Gio tells me they only do these inspections through Wednesday - Friday. I contact Lyft to confirm this and they tell me that’s not accurate. If your one guy that does the inspections isn’t there just say that. If you’re not going to do these inspections you shouldn’t have a contract with Lyft/Flexdrive. I call a Firestone and get an appointment for the same day. This location is awful and the miscommunication/lies are ridiculous. Very disappointed. They have a low rating for a reason.
