The guy checking in and out and who answers the phone was awesome and super nice. But they said there was some odd wear and tear on my new tires so they recommended an alignment. So they did that and car pulled to the right on the way home so bad. Took it back the next day. Again super nice and got me in no problem. And it is still pulling to the right. A little better but it’s still there. I have a Tesla and many people won’t work on it but I had it for 2 years and never had it pulling to any side and never had it aligned before. So now I have to go back a third time and that sucks. No body has time for this. I o ku have it a three because of how nice the people were - but you need to be able to get stuff done right.

This Pep Boys is by far the best place to take your vehicle for service. Very Transparent and extremely honest about your vehicle issues. They are very helpful and polite. Any future issues I have with my vehicle, south hills Pep Boys will be my choice. Thanks a million guys, keep up the Great Job. FYI Jim is one of the best mechanics I've ever had. His customer service is 💯 Thanks Jim.

Negligence Put My Safety at Risk – Zero Stars I brought my 2008 Honda Accord to Pep Boys at the Pleasant Hills location for a $40 diagnostic, specifically stating that I needed the car deemed roadworthy for a cross-country trip. I trusted their “complete diagnostic” process to ensure my safety. After the inspection, I was told the car was fine to drive long-distance, with only motor mounts and one tie rod needing attention. They also claimed to have resolved an issue with the power steering free of charge (Which was weird to do after reviewing such a highly priced invoice, and I would like specifics on this fix discussed more in depth. Whatever repairs were made “free of charge” I would like accounted for). As I drove home from their shop, the engine began chugging like I was pumping on the brakes repeatedly, losing power, and barely made it up the hill to my street. The check engine light started flashing, and I barely managed to get home safely. This terrifying event happened IMMEDIATELY after leaving their shop, I only live 5.5 miles away lmao! despite assurances that my car was roadworthy! To make matters worse, the estimate they gave me for repairs was outrageously overpriced. I attached the invoice for reference—$1,800 for repairs that should have been caught and addressed BEFORE telling me my car was safe to drive. I have my vehicle records ON HAND, I maintain my car very well and this is the FIRST place I have taken my vehicle outside of MY MECHANIC unless I’m going to jiffy lube for an oil change and I can visibly see them under my hood and they have been servicing my vehicles for years with no issues. With that being said, they are the only ones who have been under my hood without me present. This is absolutely unacceptable. I relied on Pep Boys to provide a competent and honest evaluation, and their negligence not only cost me time and money but also jeopardized my safety. I demand immediate action to resolve this issue—at no additional cost—or I will escalate this review further to ensure no one else endures such an experience. Pep Boys, your failure is unacceptable. I expect a resolution ASAP.

Two years ago I wrote a glowing review of this location today I am here to remove that with an update of what I've dealt with in the past few months. Three months ago I spent $900 having new breaks and rotors put on, twice I've taken my car back because they're still squealing (they are still squealing), on December 6th my husband took his car and paid $2000 to have his entire rear end replaced which included a complimentary inspection with no further suggestions of repairs. A month later he took it for an inspection and was told there were almost $3000 in repairs needed to pass inspection, including rear break pads and rotors. Thinking well shouldn't that have been noticed in the complimentary inspection we took it to a mechanic a family member used in Canonsburg. Well worth the drive as 90% of what the suggested, such as a new muffler, was not needed, nor needs to be addressed by the next inspection at this time. Full disclosure there were $900 worth of repairs required to pass inspection, one wasn't even on the list from PepBoys. They are gouging customers as much as they can do be very caretaking your vehicle here.

Bought 4 tires with free install as advertised problem is they put back the existing valve stems and cherry on top of the Cake the car was missing 2 valve caps and they didn't even bother put caps from the shop..new tires with free install no new valve stems that's cheap BUT not replacing 2 missing caps THAT'S RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP and unprofessional. Had always my alignment done here for 2 cars but NOT COMING BACK ANYMORE.

Deceptive practices. Took my car for an inspection and oil change. My receipt shows I paid the $89.00. The work was not completed. My oil light came on stating that I had 15 percent oil left. They tried stating it was just the light. My husband checked and the oil was never changed. Who knows if the other work was actually done.

I had a fantastic experience at Pep Boys recently! I needed my tires changed, and they took care of it right away, which I really appreciated. The service was prompt and efficient, making the whole process seamless. A special shoutout to Jim at the front desk! He was incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure all my questions were answered and that I felt comfortable throughout the service. His positive attitude made my visit even better. Overall, I highly recommend Pep Boys for their excellent service and knowledgeable staff. I'll definitely be coming back for my future car needs!

This place is a joke. I had tires that I ordered online showed up for my appointment. They told me they did not have my tires in stock and would have to charge me $300 more for the tires that they could get for me and they are not available for a couple of days. In the meantime they were supposed to check my alignment . After sitting there for three hours, I was told my car was ready and no work was done to it. They never checked the alignment or anything. They will just send out an automated response and we do nothing about it buyer beware

EDIT: The clips that they lost and replaced were the wrong size and have all since fallen out. I have ordered more at my own expense. Thank you, Pep Boys! My boyfriend can fix cars and even has a lift, but he’s so busy and I didn’t want to inconvenience him. So, I took my car to Pep Boys for a simple oil change. What problems could that cause? I was at Pep Boys for an hour, and the car was given a clean bill of health. As I drove home, I thought I could smell something, but I wasn’t sure. The next day as I sat in rush hour traffic, my car smelled so bad that I had to put the windows down. I texted my boyfriend who knew exactly what was wrong. He told me to turn the motor off and pop the hood. The oil cap was never replaced, and oil was EVERYWHERE. I called Pep Boys, and they told me to call 1-800-PEP-BOYS and have the car towed in. I waited for two hours until the estimated arrival time had passed, saw that a tow truck still wasn’t even dispatched, and drove the car to Pep Boys myself. By this time, they were closed for the day. The next day around 1:30 pm, the car was ready for pickup. My boyfriend drove me there, went in with me, and asked me to pop the hood when we returned to the car. I popped the hood, and he immediately went back into the store. I didn’t understand what was happening because the hood was still down. Apparently, he saw the front of the car shift when I pulled the hood release because they didn’t bother replacing the clips they removed. The car was still covered in oil in many places, and a man came out to replace the clips and remove additional oil. I was two hours late for my second job, missed a whole day of work the next day at my first job, and was compensated with two free oil changes in the future. Who in their right mind would return to Pep Boys after that??? The employee told me that hardly anyone does Google reviews for them anymore, so here’s your Google review. Pep Boys - some assembly required. 🙄
