Had a really efficient, friendly and productive experience with Angelo at the South Philly/Columbus Ave. Pep Boys. I can't believe how quickly my situation was managed. I stayed on site, did some work and was out of there in an amazing amount of time.

Came for oil change at 1:00pm 4:00 comes still haven't been serviced yet I told him to get8 my keys back how come out with the second person there and everybody that came after me car got service I'm still sitting here if I can give them a zero I would never coming back

Brought my SUV in by tow yesterday for a flat with a messed up lug nut lock- the service guys were able to discover some safety concerns with the vehicle during the tire change and recommended I bring the car back for additional work. Angelo was an incredible help describing the issues, being transparent with pricing, and offering both humor and kindness throughout the process. His professionalism is what made me trust bringing the car back to Pep Boys for the additional work. Ayinde was also at the counter both days I was in and out of the shop, and he is to be commended for his professionalism, timeliness, and communication efforts. From the guys at the counter to the guys in the garage, the Pep Boys team here did a nice job with my SUV, all while staying transparent/honest and friendly/welcoming. Thanks guys!

Usually don't like to leave negative reviews. In fact if I don't like something I usually just don't review it. This is an exception only because I don't know how this happens. Went here on a Saturday to have someone look at the passenger side tire. It seemed to have a slow leak and we suspected a nail. We were told it would be like 2 hours for the wait. Totally fine with that considering there were like 6 cars ahead of us. We also pre paid for the fix which is annoying considering the outcome. After the wait we were told the tire was full of air (which makes sense since we used an air pump ourselves beforehand) and that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Strange. Lo and behold not even a day later the tire is almost flat. I took it up to our usual local mechanic today and wouldn't you know it there was a nail on the tire. Wild. The two stars go to the otherwise great customer service and for being so close to a real good Pho restaurant.

Took 3 days to do car inspection oil change and 1 tire replacement. Had it back, one headlight is out in 1 month 2 flats and in 3 months service required light comes on. What did they actually do?

Absolutely terrible customer service and uncomfortable waiting room. This was the first and last time I will be using Pep Boys. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that all the technicians had gone home. When I asked why they would schedule an appointment for a time when no technicians would be available, the service advisor rudely said “I didn’t schedule you” and offered no apology or remedy. He stood there blankly as I asked questions and tried to find a solution. Ultimately I had to wait over an hour for a technician to arrive to begin work on my car. The checkout process was just as awkward. After I paid, I was given no instruction on how to get my vehicle so I stood there awkwardly near the door.

Bad service. Employees say they can’t do the job because they have to close at 7:00pm but on google says the close at 8:00pm so, they didn’t finish my car

DO NOT GO HERE!! Took 3 hours for an inspection which I scheduled an appointment for. At the 2 hour mark I was called and let know that they wanted to replace a tire and rear brakes and 2 air filters for $977 I told them absolutely not to which they replied that my car was ready and to come pick it up... I came for my car and was told they were still putting it back together (another hour later...) they tried to tell me that they would lower the price by not changing the air filter to $600 for a tire and rear brakes meaning that $377 was for 2 air filters! This place is a time drain and money pit, they will try to take you for everything they can! Too bad zero stars isnt an option.

Great, friendly service. Fast turn-around time. Saved me a ton of money that a garage in Chinatown was trying to charge (saved well over 50%)! From now on, I will always start with Pep Boys!!

I went there for a brake change, they told me it was going to take two hours. However, 3 hours later I went to pick up my car and they said they didn’t have the spare parts.

Oil change was an hour and a half wait beyond my appointment time. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Don’t overbook your appointment times!

Quick & efficient service. Called the evening prior for an appointment the next morning. Diagnostic was run quickly and repair breakdown was easy to understand & pricing was fair. Angelo at the desk was personable and patient w all of my questions! Will return for future services for sure

The worst place ever I wouldn't take a powerwheels to this location. The mechanic lied several times about when my car would be ready only for them to not even be able to fix the fuel pump issue because they didn't know how to connect it to the computer system in the car. Eric the manager just rude and a liar also. Then tried to charge me for a diagnostic yeah whatever had it towed from them to the dealership where I should have taken it to start with. They are childish and rude at this location wouldn't give me any contact information for their district manager. In my opinion this is definitely not a location to have any car serviced. Poor customer service. If I could've given 0 stars I would.

I walk in @9am for a tire repair with no appointment was told to come back at 11.. I came back at 11am check my car in…. Seeing only 1 are 2 customs making me think I’ll be out of there with an hour, man 🧍‍♂️ was wrong…2:30pm come around and my car still seating in the parking lot still. Tire repair from 9am to 2:30 pm. Wow what a service.

Took 3 hours to change a tire. Tried to add $30 tire replacement insurance without asking and after all that returned the car filthy. This place needs adult supervision, put down the cell phone and get your job done.

Update: I followed the instructions of the reply I received here and had absolutely no result. Additionally I found out they charged me almost 100 dollars for a warranty. They told me the price I was paying was for service and tires, so they lied on that one too. ——— Use it only if it’s an emergency and there isn’t another provider open. Had an issue with one of the front tires at a Saturday 7pm. Pep boys was the only shop open. All tires were just a few months old, but they convinced me to change both front tires so I could keep the good one as a spare. I agreed with it. When I went to pick the car up, they didn’t give me the good tire back. When questioned, they couldn’t figure out which tire was the good one and which one was bad. They told me the person who did the service was on a break and would come back in 20 minutes. I came back an hour later and they still couldn’t figure our which tire was the good one. I asked to talk to the person who did the service and I was told that they were on a break and would come back only in an hour. I confronted them because that was the excuse given an hour ago. Then they tried to convince me that both tires were bad. I asked what was the issue, and they said the treads were low. I explained that these tires were just a few months old, with not much use, so I asked them to show me. They couldn’t show me the tread issue. At this point, with so many lies, it’s impossible to trust any word from them. I’m just never coming back unless it’s really an emergency that can’t wait. I’ve never had a similar issue with the other tire shop I go to, they are always very transparent, AND they are way cheaper.

Been taking my car(s) here for years. Never been given a reason to stop. Staff changes a lot. Some folks nice, some folks meh. But that’s life. This review and 4 star rating is based off my last visit. Needed an inspection and needed it done by 1pm. Dropped the car off at 8am when they opened and it was ready by 9:45! They text you a link to see how the inspection went including pictures of the various parts of your car that passed or need attention. And now that the retail side of this location is no more you spend less time on the phone when you call over.

Came here for a simple tire and mounting for my new car with under 10k miles. I took a picture of my rim/tire at drop off and came back to a scratch on the face of my rim. The technician and manager both refuse to admit fault, even though I have pictures of the rim at the time of drop off. In addition, the manager Eric was not professional at all and just simply claimed “our machines couldn’t have done that”. He didn’t care that I had a photo of the rim before the service was done and told me to file an insurance claim with my own insurance company.

Went to Pep Boys for an oil change - they did not properly install the drain plug afterwards, causing the oil to leak out. No refund or compensation was offered when I had to get a new oil change. I will not be coming back here ever again
