Horrible no one is in the same page My husband went to get his blinker bulb replaced, they called to advise that they damaged something else in the process so they change the bulb (mind you it works )and has my husband come back at a later date when his part came in which was 2 days later, they fixed what they damaged and my husband drives off only to realize his blinker is no longer working her returns immediately and is told well the blinker worked when we fixed it, but you have corrosion and that’s why the blinker isn’t working now…. 🤬 and he would need to pay for the complete kit to fix it!!! Number 2# They somehow forgot to mark miles when my husband took his work truck there for brake change, he had the lifetime warranty replacement, he took truck up there several times because he felt grinding from his brakes and squealing, they told him brakes are fine nothing is wrong. Multiple times this happened. Finally my husband’s maintenance light comes on he takes it back only to be told now he needs to pay for rotors and the brakes need to be replaced and his rotors are out of warranty due to mileage, my husband says I brought my truck up here several times was told nothing is wrong and now the light comes on and they need to be fixed and it just so happens to be when I’m out of warranty, manager tells my husband the person who checked my husband’s brakes failed to put the mileage in when he brought it in previously so they can’t be sure if he was in warranty or not🤬🤬🤬🤬. Moral of the story STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! They quote none existent deals over the phone and no one ever knows anything about….

Crooks here my car broke down while out of town here 160 miles away from home and they charged me 550 dollars to do absolutely nothing to fix my car told me I needed a new ecm and turbo but all I needed was a coil pack rip offs n shisty mechanic shop here.

Horrible place to take your vehicle and get work done . They charged my warranty company $1600 to fix my issue and the issue still persist, they also broke my heater and claim it randomly went out which it didn’t . They just want money they will break your car . The workers are incompetent the mechanics are sorry . I had to file a complaint with corporate on them and the next wil be to take them to court after having a different pep boys location go over there work to see what they did wrong . Do not come to this pep boys try a different location the reviews don’t lie.

I brought my car in on for tires after pick it up from Lexus for regular service, which indicated tires needed. Tires were installed at lane Ave store. When I picked up the car and drove to work, the TPMS light came on, which had not been on before and didn’t go off. I went back to the shop and told them what was happening. They checked and the tire pressure was good, but the TPMS sensor was bad. The guy that checked at first said that another guy that did the install may have damaged them, because he was off. Then the manager came and said that they were not working and needed replacing. My tires were just rotated by Lexus and recommended replacing. No TPMS light issue noted on the report. I’m not satisfied with the explanation I received and want someone on a higher level to contact me asap.

They steal expensive things out your car, will say your car is no good but it’s most likely something minor . Don’t recommend I wouldn’t not send my car back up there for any serious work

Great service I went here to get my car diagnosed for a check engine light. I gave the guy instructions before leaving my car because I had to go to work the rest of the day and he followed through on it all. He called me about everything before doing anything else with the car. My vehicle was pick up by the end of day. Highly recommend!

If I could give negative stars I would. I brought my wheelchair van there and they broke it. I drove there and it was in running condition, just a little rough due to the spark plugs. I agreed to an inspection to which they told me that I needed plugs, wires and a distributor. They recommended a fuel pump and although it was working I decided to get it because I've already replaced most of the other parts on it. They made me wait TEN hours in the waiting room before admitting they could not start the van. After they replaced those parts they were about to give it back to me and had it running for about 15 minutes as said by the employee, then it stopped working. They spent 2 weeks putting me off then told me it was the ignition. They replaced the ignition and it still would not work. That was when they started claiming that it needs a new motor which should have been told to me with the initial inspection before they had me get any of the parts replaced because if they had said that to begin with I would not have gotten it fixed there. It does NOT need a new motor because it was working when I brought it in. They lied about the amount of PSI compression, then kept changing the numbers which I have on recording. I have several calls recorded and every call they made different claims than before which proves they are lying. They contradict themselves repeatedly then lied to corporate saying that it was pushed there rather than driven. They offered me a free motor (admission of guilt) but then wanted to charge me for the labor which doubled what I had already owed on the van. All of their recorded blatant lies are going to prove to the court that they have no credibility. They tried to give me a rental car for 2 days on a weekend which would not have helped me at all and that was after making me wait over 2 weeks to know what was going on. They would not be trying to accommodate me if they didn't know they were at fault, especially to cover the cost of the motor. If they do not call me and tell me I can pick up my van with NO COST because they broke it, meaning I would be taking back a broken van, I will be forced to take them to court because they are now trying to charge me if I don't pay and pick up within 7 days. I notified them in the very same conversation that I was refusing to pay if I had to take it back broken, so if they try to say I owe them for it being in their lot, they cannot say they were not notified. So, everyone I spoke to from the counter employee, to the manager, to the district manager then to someone from corporate all lied and changed the claims they were making from one call to the next. DO NOT trust this place to work on your vehicle. They also lied on the report claiming that my tires are feathered but I have receipts that prove I just bought those tires within the past couple months. It claims that I have an oil leak which is also lie. First of all that would have been in the initial inspection and it was not. Second, an employee admitted on the phone that it was not oil but was power steering fluid which I know has a slow leak and just had to fill once in a while. So everything I was told after day one was lies, lies, lies. I asked the guy from corporate to look back at the cameras to see that they're lying and he said he would look at the cameras but then refused to call me back afterward which shows how much they care about the truth. If I do take them to court and they neglect to submit the camera footage as evidence which proves they are lying, that will also prove they are withholding evidence which only would be done to cover up a lie. So they basically robbed me of my van which I needed to be able to transport my wheelchair because I cannot walk around places for long, like the grocery store because I am physically disabled.

Walked in to get an oil change. Nobody was in the front. I had to open the bay door to get someone to come to the front to get service initiated. I literally said to the guy, " I have an Avis vehicle that needs an oil change." When we get to the counter, he's asking me less than 30 seconds of me telling him what I needed, "what do you need done today?" Was told it would be a hr wait, and it turned into a two hr wait. Once a full hr passed by, I checked the "keep track of you process link," and it showed that my vehicle was assigned to a tech and it was being served while I was STILL sitting in the car!! I went in to find out why it was showing that the car was being serviced, and was told the tech was on break, and once he comes back from break, it would then get serviced. Definitely won't be coming back to this location. It's annoying when you try to get a service done and you get the feeling that you're "bothering" someone to do what their getting paid to do. Hopefully, I won't have the same experience when I got to another location. The system said service would be done by 4:30 pm and didn't get the key back until 4:51 pm

Awful experience. Overcharged by hundreds for materials. Sketchy and rude. Extra fees and materials added on I did not request or get notified about beforehand. Created a new issue that they could not fix. Told me to just go to another shop.

Toyota corolla died and suspected an alternator. They told me it was a bad alternator which killed the battery, and the belt needed replaced and charged me almost double what I could get an alternator for elsewhere. $500 for a corolla remanufactured (not even new) alternator. They then charged me $200 for a battery. Then I get in my car and the battery light is on now and they tell me I have to run the car to charge the battery on a new alternator with a supposedly new battery. They gave me a dead battery for a corolla for $200. $730 in material for simply an alternator, belt, and 30 month warrantied dead battery. I had to tow my car somewhere. Can't drive away on a bad alternator when things go wrong. I was hoping Pep Boys would be more reliable being a chain, but being expected to pay an extra third over the cost of the material plus the cost of the material was unbelievable. On top of signing me up for warrenties that I did not ask for like something dubbed "The Plan" for extended warranty on labor, a "battery protection service", "terminal protectors" literally under my already covered terminals, lead acid battery fee, shop fee added up to an extra $100 in fees beyond materials and labor at $140 an hour. After reading the comments it seems like this is not an isolated incident. The only good thing I can say is I needed the car back and they got it done for me in a day. I can now see why they were not busy.

Scheduled an appointment for them to check my tire. It was slowly loosing pressure, so I assumed a nail. I sat there for two hours before my car was even taken to the back. They didn’t give any updates, as there was rarely someone in the lobby. They told me it couldn’t be patched (it was in the side wall) and I needed a new tire. I left and got a second opinion. The puncture was between the tread and was patched. They were friendly. But definitely won’t be going back.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, I came in needing a battery for my sister in law's car. The service tech (Anthony) helped me with a kind smile and answered all my questions. He even answered questions about my own car and needing a new alternator. He also let me know that Pep Boys offers towing! It helps since my car isn't cranking! Pep Boys to the rescue!

Chuck was very rude, short patient and would not allow you to ask questions, without answering you in a angry tone to let you know that you're not welcome to ask questions. I was looking to see where I could sit down and was told to come back later instead of being offered the opportunity to wait which was an option for me, so I walked around outside then noticed people going inside to a waiting room, where I eventually went back inside to patiently wait. I will never visit this location again by choice. I am a woman of color and can't help but wonder if I was treated unkind because of the color of my skin.

I had an 8 o'clock appointment for an oil change and as of 9:30 they still haven't touched my van. When I walked up front to get my keys there was 2 techs just sitting there doing nothing

Went to have my a/c repaired. The guy said it would be $65 for them to see what is wrong. They did not know what the issue was when I picked up my vehicle but I was still required to pay $65. Place is a joke

Horrible customer service! Every time I let them service my car there is a problem. I dropped my car off to have a wheel alignment and 2 new tires. Google showed open until 7pm. I arrive at 5:55 and Gary said he already closed his register and I will have to come back tomorrow. My ride already left and he would not accommodate me. Now I don’t have a ride back in the morning. IF YOUR DOORS ARE STILL OPEN THEN YOU NEED TO HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS!! Pep Boys used to be such a great place, NOT ANYMORE. LAST AND FINAL TIME I WILL EVER USE THIS PLACE. NOT GONNA GET ANY MORE OF MY MONEY.

I was told my car would be diagnosed under warranty so I wouldn't have to pay but once my car was ready I had to pay $118, I would have waited another day had I known but auto repair businesses will do anything to make money

If only I can put NO STARS!!! I thought the job was a good job last time a made my review but I had to come back and change it. My check engine light came back on 5 days later after taking my car there on the 5/16/2024. It's bad enough the man at the front that day tried to charge me $600 for one broken stud (which I told him nevermind I'll fix it later, Just to get the stud fixed for $60 else were). I wanted to get the engine fix first, which I was charged $400 just for it to not be fixed. It took them 3 hours to do nothing but clear my car's code. I had someone scan my car to see why the light came back on and it's the same problem I thought they had fixed for me!!! Then when I sent my coworker over to ask if they can take a look at my car again, the same man I had to deal with got upset and stole my paperwork and called the police after trying to hit my coworker who was just trying to help me. He even went as far to then tell my coworker that I had to pay again just to get my car looked at. Now I'm trying to get in contact with someone to help me and they all keep saying someone will call me back and I haven't heard from anyone.
