Horrible BUSINESS, ROTTEN PEOPLE We bought a set of rear tires from Pep Boys in Tampa 10124 N. Florida Ave 33612 early December 2024. Later we had a problem with one of the tires and its valve stem in Colorado springs shortly after this tire purchase and within the month. The store manager in Colorado Springs 7625 N. Academy Blvd on Dec 27, 2024 at 0800 hrs. He at first told me it was not their brand. I produced receipts verifying it was Pep Boys brand, then he told me it was not their fault and there was absolutely no warranty since he was not there when it was put on to witness any mistakes. He then told me they could put a new tire on the rim at my cost no discounts somewhere between $250 and $300, but also because I removed the tire from the car they could not attach the tire to my car and I would have to reattach the tire on my own. However, if I purchased 4 new tires, they would then attach all the tires to my car. I then asked him for my car keys, stating I would never buy another thing from this corrupt company. He then held my keys up high in the air as if to threaten or intimidate me somehow, I took my keys anyways and left. My advice STAY AWAY FROM PEP BOYS

Horrible business. Bought two tires at Tampa Pep Boys in late November 2024. Valve stem they installed broke with new tires. No warranty just a lot of BS about not being there tires and disowning any blame even after I produced receipts showing tires to be less than one month. Manager acted very rude, like he wanted to fight me over it, Horrible people. Stay away.

Came in to get one tire switched ended up having all four tires taken off by the time they told what they were doing and was charged extra because "they needed to go on efficiently" was told my adapter was stripped even though it worked for every other lug nut which I had to buy a new one for them to use. When they took the tires of one or two bolts snapped which didn't happen when I took them off the first time 'and I was charged extra for parts' because of it. Needed one tire switched got all four switched around and several bolts snapped just for a big bill and almost a full 2 hour wait time FOR WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONE TIRE!!

I had first appointment in the morning. They were open and ready to go took my car right in. Took just a little longer than they had Stated because they found something else that was difficult to adjust. But they stayed with it and did the job right.

This place was excellent! I called this Pep Boys after getting quoted an absurdly expensive amount for my repairs at another auto shop, & not only was the same repair job done for half the price, but they were able to take my car the same day & had it ready the next morning. The employees were also super friendly & easy to work with-quick shoutout to Ray who took my initial call & ended up saving me literally hundreds of dollars. I plan on going back here for all my future auto needs :)

Had some odd noises coming from the front left wheel. Ray and his team got me a thorough check and brake inspection. Nothing was wrong after all but it was a good experience and I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Great pricing and helpful staff! I took my car to one place and was quoted over a thousand dollars more but when I called pep boys they were way better priced. And instead of needed 2 things replaced as the first place told me, I only need 1 replaced. Honest mechanics!

I used to come to this shop all the time when Gavin was the manager. At some point over the summer, Elon either took over or became more involved. He has a smug demeanor even when he tries coming off professional. He’s thinks he treats people right as long as he speaks in a calm tone, even when what he’s saying is crass and disrespectful. My first run-in with Elon was when I made an appointment for a simple engine check for my girlfriend’s car. He attempted to charge her double what the actual cost was and it wasn’t until I showed up and confronted him about the price that he backed down. He tried taking advantage of a woman who doesn’t know anything about vehicles. I threatened to take our future business to the other shop where Gavin works and suddenly Elon became apologetic. My second run-in with him was when I called the shop ahead of time and asked if they could perform a certain repair on my car with a part that I personally bought. I was told yes (by an employee other than Elon) and made an appointment for a Tuesday. When I brought my vehicle in, I was told their master mechanic does not work on Tuesdays. Why was my appointment booked for a day when their master mechanic does not work? Why does Elon not appropriately educate his employees how to schedule? As a result, I had to make a new appointment several days later. When I arrived, I was told by Elon that they cannot perform the repair since I had bought my own part. Fair enough, but why was I previously told both on the phone and Tuesday that they could do it? Again, poor managing on Elon’s part for not properly teaching his employees. Lastly, while I was explaining my frustration to Elon about this, he curiously brought up how he “has to provide food for his wife and kids” when I asked why he can’t perform the repair given the miscommunication. I assume this was an attempt to suggest he’d potentially get fired but it was a very odd thing to bring up. I asked why he was seemingly the only person who knew about this rule, as evidenced by no other previous employee telling me resulting in me wasting two appointments and a week’s worth of time, and for the first time in awhile Elon had nothing to say. I used to bring both my and my girlfriend’s car to this shop all the time but I no longer will. Too bad Gavin works at the shop 15 minutes away or else I’d stay within the PepBoys family, but no more. I also notice that this isn’t the first review highlighting Elon’s poor behavior and professionalism.

My wife and son went in to look for new tires. Ron was very helpful and courteous with them. He was able to schedule them for new tires the next day! We will definitely head to Pep-Boys in the future for help with his truck!

The manager Elon was horrible. Called to get in without and appointment. Was told to come down and would be done within an hour. Waited over an hour and was told it’s not going to be much later. Horrible customer expectation. This has happened at least 3 times before. Quotes on scratch paper, lost appointments and on. Go somewhere else for service and tires. Was a 25 year client.
