The only thing that I did not expect was the waiting period. I thought it would have been shorter. Other than that, my car in excellent hand. I will recommend PepBoys to my friends.

They took the best care of me last week. I told them I’m headed on a road trip moving out of state the following week and want to make sure my car would get me there safely. I felt like a little sister getting all of the special treatment to make sure I’ll be safe, and was expecting a whooping bill for all that they checked out for me but it was not steep at all, extremely affordable. They went above and beyond to fix my rear view windshield wiper (by hand when they didn’t have the right replacement tool!) and even gave me advice on the best route to take for my drive. Again, felt like family which rarely happens for me at a mechanic but always at a Pep Boys :)

Do not get your car inspected here. Twice now I have made an appointment (which they’ve accepted), shown up, and been told the inspector isn’t there and they have no idea when he’ll arrive.

Easy to make an appointment and efficient They had to order a filter and said would take 45 minutes and then another half and hour to do oil change But to my surprise Tthe car was ready way before their estimated time The staff is also pleasant and helpful I even sent my daughter their for her cars oil change

Everyone was very helpful and did the job in a timely manner. My only problem was I made an appointment at 6pm for a state inspection and only when I arrived I was told the inspector leaves at 5pm. Other than that everyone was very nice and everything went smoothly on my new appointment.

I was there early to get an oil change and the customer service team was very helpful. One of the representatives let me into the store a few minutes before the store opened. He didn’t want me to wait outside in the cold 🥶!

I went to have my car inspected at pep boys on Utica Ave only to be told that because it has an engine check light on I couldn’t get it done until the problem was resolved. Mr Bernard was the person dealing with my vehicle and he proceeded to explain in layman’s terms so I could fully understand. Bottom line line I was very pleased by the end of the day when the mechanics fixed the car . I would highly recommend this auto repair service any time

Waited 3 hours for an oil change that I made an appointment for and after receiving my car back had issues that weren't there before getting my oil change done here. Go here at your own risk!

Bad service. Despite having an appointment for tires replacement, they didn't have the full set and it took more than 4 hours to receive the service. They didn't tell me in advance it was going to take that long otherwise I would not stay there. I had to ask for updates, they let me there waiting for hours without updates. I had to ask. Not coming back.

Cancelled my appointment today, because no one there gives a shit about you. And if you call them, they talk to you as if they were already tired of you from the very beginning. With such service there is no point in going to them, prices are the same as everywhere else.

Joseph, the front end person was pleasant and transparent. I particularly liked the fact that with the estimate they include pictures of the affected part. The SMS system is very helpful. Moreover, their rates were fair. I came in a additional time and Alfred went the extra mile to make sure my car’s needs were being met.

My name is Richard. This is a genuine review, not a fake one. I'm writing this on the day of my appointment, November 30th. I made a reservation for a tire change on the 25th and shipped the tires to this location. I purchased the tires, paid for them, and they were supposed to just install them. They confirmed the receipt of my tires and assured me that they would hold them, as they were mine. However, here I am, waiting yet again because they sold one of my tires. There’s a complete disregard for other people's property. They keep saying that someone else, who is not working today, is to blame. But we are all adults here, and we know that the manager is responsible for training staff and setting the tone in the workplace. My babysitter gets paid by the hour—will they refund me while they sort out this issue? I think not. The overall attitude is appalling. They made a mistake and show no humility whatsoever. I am still in shock that someone, potentially even with the supervisor's knowledge or approval, sold property that did not belong to them. If they are that blunt with dishonesty then I can only deduce that's how they run the rest of the business here. There make your own choice after reading this review. As far a resolution you would think we would probably get a credit or they would be lower the fee based on the inconvenience.I had to pay nanny and my time there just so they could make extra money selling the tire that was mine. Nope, none of that. So in my end, I've already reported it to the company it purchased the tires from other than that. Hopefully someone reads this review and understands that this may not be the place..

Service is ok but the prices 2 fix yure care are 2 high. Yu better of buying all the parts online and hopefully yu find a honesty and decent mechanic who won't rip yu off putting the parts 4yu. Nowadays honesty it's hard 2 find a honest mechanic 2 help yu. Things change now mostly it's all about the money I get and understand. But if yure not there watching them and have some knowledge of what's with yure the will get over on yu

Service was fast and quality of tires installation and wheels alignment are impressive. I'm 100% satisfied with the service. by the way I bought from pep boys 4 tires and paid for only 2 tires because of the promotion of that day.

This is the worse place to go to. I went to get my brakes changed & at first the guy told us it would be $400 & he would give us a discount for $100 off so it would be $300 . Once the guy went to the back the lady asked us how much the guy said he would charge when we said $300 she said no it’s going to be $500 . I in fact did not get my brakes done there & took my car back. Every time I go there for services the price is different depending on which person you speak to

I came in to simple get my tires done, but a full service, cabin/air filter recommendation was made, upon doing so my air conditioners fan was somehow either damaged or not placed back correctly because now it is extremely loud and upon noticing it, I returned to have it corrected and after noticing all that was done to my AC was it was only turned down and no service was done to rectify the issue, now I distrust this shop with my vehicle to service the problem correctly because there was no issue with the sound of my AC prior to a cabin filter change based upon recommendations of the mechanic. This place deserves 5 stars. I've been to different inspection sites for NYS vehicle inspection and the only thing they tested was emissions. They didn't bother inspect the vehicle to ensure its saftey. At the time of my last inspection, I had windshield wipers that were badly damaged and needed to be replaced, yet my car passed the inspection because they never bothered to check the safety of the vehicle. I made an appointment to bring my car to Pep Boys on Utica Ave. There was a wait to be seen, but the wait doesn't even matter when you are satisfied with the quality of service you've received. The Jamaican gentleman at the register was professional and so was the rest of the staff. My car was ready in just about an hour. I was sent a detailed report of the inspection results, which I appreciate. It showed me everything that was checked. It didn't take 15 minutes like others places I've been to. If it takes 15 minutes then your vehicle wasn't thoroughly inspected. I appreciate that they care about what they do and put safety first. That is integrity and not too many places have that. They will pass vehicles that are hazardous just to get paid and not actually do the work. I will continue to come to this Pep Boys location for future inspections.

Went to shop to get my inspection. Done , waited a few hours. Didn't make an appointment. I was a walking in the late afternoon. So the wait was expected. They had a decent lounge area. Coffee, water and vending machine was available.
