Appointments are super easy to schedule. You can do so online or by phone. You are greeted the minute you walk through the door. My car was taken care of and you can monitor the progress while you wait. Richard the Assistant Manager helped me and he is a great person and very knowledgeable about cars. I recommend Pep Boys because they will take excellent care of you and your vehicle!

Our overall experience was good. My brakes were out and already grinding by the time I got to PepBoys. Our technician was great, informative, and most of all, we didn’t feel like they over-charged us or tried get us to get unnecessary work done. My only complaint: I scheduled an appt. to drop off my car at 1:00. My husband came in his truck so I didn’t have to wait there. So we (& my 2 little kids) went in and the guy told us it’d take a few minutes. We got there a little before 1:00. By 1:15 we still hadn’t talked to anyone. A different guy who became our tech came in, & finally I went up & said something. He took care of us right away. I think the first guy was having issues with something else so I can’t be upset about that. I know things happen. Overall, I’m happy with them!

Pep Boys is by far, my place of choice when my vehicle needs service or repair, in City of Austin, or anywhere. Let Me Be Clear! Today, I will only let Pep Boys work on my car, when complex service or repair is required. Pep Boys provide superior service and superior diagnostic and repair solutions, at prices I can afford, even with my fixed monthly income. I don't think there is any symptom or diagnosis that Pep Boys can't resolve or fix. Those guys are awesome, and deserve my highest rating, 5 stars plus Update: I recently gave my fav Pep Boys garage a challenge, to fix my sister's 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee known for giving her many problems this year, and that she reported as undrivable, with frequent stalling. Pep Boys guys at 8917 Research Blvd did their magic, and have put the thought of owning a classic Jeep Cherokee back in my sister's dream reality. THANKS AGAIN PEP BOYS!! Us customers do appreciate 'cha!

This was my first and last time going to a Pep Boys. I went in for a tire patch and my truck was taken in right away but it lasted a whole hour for one tire patch. I looked out to where my vehicle was at and I seen the tech just standing there talking to another tech instead of getting my vehicle back to me. So many things I did not like! The long wait! The inside was very depressing and the restroom was filthy! But most of all my vehicle is brand new and they put 2 scratches on my new rim and they didn't even bother to wipe down the rim and tire. They gave it back to me all dirty with what I assume is some kind of white grease all over the rim and tire. I didn't even bother to call the shop to complain because I was already upset with everything else and I really did not want to hear them say "there's nothing we can do about it". I'm writing this with the hopes that if someone up higher in the company would like to try to fix the issue, not sure that it can be fixed since it's a scratch on the rim. So for anyone reading this it's probably best to just go somewhere else.

Pep boys guy: I'm calling about your car for service Me: Sure, go ahead. What's up? Pep boys guy: We replaced the rotors and pads on all four corners Me: Was that today? Pep boys guy: no, that was when we serviced the vehicle first Me: OK, well, it's gone from squealing to grinding, so it's getting worse. What are you going to do? Pep boys guy: Well we could replace the pads Me: Are you guessing? Pep boys guy: No. The technician didn't hear a noise Me: OK well I'm deaf and I can hear it and feel it grinding, so your excuse isn't going to work for me Pep boys guy: He can't find the source of any problem Me: OK. I brought it to you with no squealing. After I left it was squealing and that has progressed to grinding. Something is wrong. Maybe get a tech that has better hearing? But "I don't hear it" is not going to work for me. I need my vehicle to be safe to drive. Pep boys guy: I can get him to try again Me: That would be a great idea because after this I will take it to another shop and have them do the repairs and bring you the bill. I will very likely lose my shit when I do it. Pep boys guy: OK I'll call you back with what I find Me: I look forward to it... After telling me for 15 minutes that their technicians are top notch, and even the service manager checked my vehicle, they couldn’t even be bothered to inflate the tires to the proper PSI… I didn’t bother telling them about the AirTag in my car and I knew it had t moved far when they told me they test drive it. What a bunch of thieves. Pep Boys, don’t bother responding to this, yall will never see me again. If I could give less than 1 star I would do it!

Came in knowing my tire had something stuck in it, was ready for a replacement and had looked up prices for a new tire for my vehicle (65-100) prior to visit. 20 minutes go buy and they told me I had a screw that was too close to the side wall to do a patch- I was a little disappointed but i trusted that the mechanics knew what they were doing. The guy at the counter proceeded to tell me the replacement was $220 FOR ONE TIRE, FOR A CHEVY TRAX. I'm not sure if they were just after money, or if it was the fact that I came later in the day- but two hundred and twenty dollars for a single tire is absurd. Would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy.

Got our problem fixed and also purchased four new tires. it was a bit of a wait, but we only called 30 mins before we took the car in. Our music thumb drive was in the car when we took the car in. When we got home we noticed it was gone. But how do you prove it was taken when it was in that shop? So we just let it go.

I realize this is a tire shop but the inside of the shop is filthy dirty, cob webs, the floor hasn't been swept. Coffee machine out of order, now water except the water fountain. You also can't see your car being worked on because the windows are blacked out which I find weird. The communication to make the appointment was excellent but during the service there was little to no communication. I also got the vibe they want to upsell when possible. I probably won't return.

Says they’re open till 8pm but immediately turned me away for any type of oil change or service at 7:00pm even though they’re open till 8:00pm. They had no customers at all getting services or worked on. This place is trash!!! The guy who was waiting in line behind me is now waiting to park in the dock and get service he came in after I did. I guess cause I’m not White I didn’t deserve any service but the white customers could get service no matter what time it is:

An appointment doesn’t mean anything. I had to wait about 2 hours for a tire rotation. Restrooms are extremely dirty. Coffee machine is out of order. No water or any drinks while waiting.

First time here.. 09 f150 I knew I needed all 4 rotors and brake pads coming in. Inspection was free of charge. All cool. Until I was quoted $1400 plus for the repairs(that's with a discount on the labor), and I said no, thank you. I was told to get it done or call a tow truck. Like i was risking imminent death! If I didn't know any better, I'd be terrified. TAKE MY MONEY! Haha They did show me what I needed fixed. I just think scare tactics suck. Jed, the mechanic, was great. Could lose the attitude. 2 out of 5 for me.

I booked an appointment for 2pm, when I got there I was told it would be a 2hr+ wait because the system allowed for booking on top of already existing appointments. What's the point of making an appointment then?? Kudos to Wayne though, he was way friendly and apologetic about the whole thing.

The staff are professional and trust worthy. I’ve been having issues with my steering wheel shaking and have had to looked at twice by brake check/paid for 2 unnecessary alignments. When I took my car here to Pep boys only to find out that the alignment wasn’t the issue. The mechanics brought me out and showed me the problem/walked me through what I need to have done. I’m no mechanic but even I know you shouldn’t be able to wobble my wheel with your hands. Finding trustworthy mechanics is tragically difficult! I am so grateful to have found them here, so that I can finally be worry free that my car wont break down on me or get into a wreck. I would definitely recommend this pep boys location for your car repair needs!

They damaged my vehicle and tried fixing it prior to notifying me of the damage. After they were unable to fix it, they claimed it was preexisting and forgot to notify me prior to attempting to fix it. A state inspection was performed the day prior, if preexisting the state inspection would have failed. Very dishonest people working there.
