I'm new in the area and have gone to Peacock Auto for repairs twice. Both times they were kind, prompt, skillful, friendly, efficient, fair, responsive, communicative...basically everything you could want. One of these times, they did an urgent repair that made a really meaningful difference in my personal life. They are now my go to place and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Peacock Auto!

I was looking for a local company with an excellent reputation that I could trust to offer what my vehicle needed without upselling. Peacock more than exceeded my expectations with quick service, straightforward explanations including what wasn’t necessary and/or could wait. I have no problem paying a fair price for excellent work, Peacock offers both. I will recommend them to anyone who needs vehicle work.

I highly recommend Peacock Auto Service! I needed an urgent oil change and headlights replaced on my car, and Joe fit me into his busy schedule, despite me showing up two hours later than I said I would. Plus, offered me a snack while I waited! Thanks very much to both Joe and Mandy for all their work and kindness.

I can't recommend Peacock Auto enough! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by their honesty and professionalism. I highly highly highly recommend these guys. Customer service is beyond the top. Very genuine and in their integrity. Watch them not only with us but watching them with other customers and not doing services just because the customer thought that's what they needed. Really appreciated that kind of honesty and realism. We will go back to them moving forward for all of our services and we are not close by. We do not live in Charlottesville. So worth it. Thank you for all of you that recommended them. They are everything that I heard about them. There is a reason they are so highly rated. It is true!!

I went in today for an oil change, waited for 45 mins as promised and was super reasonable from price pov. My rear breaks made a squeaking noise and they inspected those for free and told me the brand of the breaks in my car is usually squeaky. They also told me to replace one of my tyres. Super friendly staff and great service! Will definitely be going back.

Peacock Auto operates with more integrity and generosity than any other mechanic I’ve worked with. I’ve been going to them for about a year and a half and have had nothing but positive experiences. More than once they have not charged me for work that I think other mechanics would have. I also appreciate how they break down the service work they are recommending in a way that is straight forward and easy to understand. They clearly put people first, certainly customers, and I would assume their employees as well. They make the Charlottesville community a better place.

EDIT: Peacock went out of their way to make this right. I missed their response to this review and they left a message on my phone and worked with me on a solution. All of which were unexpected. Thank you Peacock - I really appreciate you. This … is a tough review to write. Because I appreciate their honesty and that they won’t do work just to do it for an easy buck. However, I had some work done on my car here (the rear sway bars replaced). Shortly after my car started making a horrible grinding and poping noise. I took it back for an oil change and to check out the noise. I was concerned it might be related to the recent work done. I was assured it was just rust on the undercarriage. Gradually the noise has gotten worse. I took it to another location for my inspection (because peacock doesn’t do them) and I failed my inspection, because my sway bars are missing parts and improperly installed. So…..bit of a bummer there. Now I’m back to driving to the dealership. Which, I am sad about because the reviews and honestly first experience seemed so promising.

Excellent experience through and through. The staff was attentive and friendly and made me feel very comfortable while I was having my A/C service and inspected for a leak, which was ultimately identified and required repair. The technician showed me exactly what was going on and made it clear what was wrong. They took care of the issue promptly and were transparent with the way they developed the quote (not a standard repair). Ultimately, the bill was less than quoted, which is rare! Very happy with the experience and I will return for future servicing needs.

My AC was toast and pumping out warm air only. I was quoted nearly 3K from a dealership for full replacement of the AC unit. Brought to peacock for a second opinion, they diagnosed a leak in the unit and refilled it, now it works good as new for less than 10% of my original estimate. Lifesaver!

Peacock has a kind heart and soul that elevates it from being a place to get your car fixed, to being a place to connect with people in our community who care. It's also no joke- Joe will give you a straight answer about what needs to be repaired, how to do it correctly, and his opinion on what you should do next. That might be "fix it," or it might be "get a more reliable vehicle." I have experienced both situations and both proved to be correct. It's been a privilege to have Joe, Mandy, and the crew work on 4 of our cars over the years (VW, Toyota, Subaru, and Honda). I have never been disappointed. The price is fair, the work is generous, and the business is a gem.

The service writer Mandy was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Although she was managing a very busy service desk alone, her courteous, polite, and professionalism never wavered despite constant phone calls. The mechanics got to my car in a timely manner and handled it with care. Great job guys!

The whole team at Peacock are top notch! I don't think I'll ever trust another set of mechanics as much as I do Joe, truly. The team is great at giving me a heads up on work that will likely need done well in advance which really helps me out in the budgeting arena. Mandy is super lovely and always quick to respond if you have to leave a voicemail. (She holds it down up front!)
