My partner and I have a beloved 2011 Nissan Versa hatchback we've had for years now, and we get all our repairs at our local auto shop, Payne's Auto. They obviously have excellent reviews here on Google and Yelp, but we actually heard about them via word of mouth from a neighbor who had been their customer for years. We've gotten tires, spark plugs, bent wheel rims, engine mounts and more replaced or fixed at Payne's. Our most recent repair was the engine mounts. The turnaround was very fast as always and the cost was fair. The staff is always patient, clear and complete in their professional friendly communication. I wish I could give them 10 stars; it is such peace of mind to have a neighborhood car shop we can trust. Whenever we have something go on with the car, I never feel dread about the outcome cost or quality of repair because of the awesome job they do at Payne's.

Just left Paynes from picking up my vehicle. Incredibly happy with the experience. Extremely fair pricing, friendly service, and got me out the door in just a few hours. Had previously gone to a national brand in the area and they said I needed about 5x the amount of work done than what Payne said was needed. Will definitely be back.

Top customer service and a lovely family owned business. Fair pricing, accurate estimates, and clear communication of what's up with your car. They also are super real with you about what your alternatives are, price comparisons, and explanations of "what will happen if I don't fix this?" or "how long can I put this off?" type of questions. A great place for service if you are driving a beater or old car. Once they installed a sensor in my old Saturn that I had purchased myself at my request, even though it wasn't something they had purchased or recommended. They also recommended me a great trustworthy muffler place when they weren't the best people to fix my exhaust system. I recommend this shop to everyone.

My car was giving me some troubles and making a weird noise. I took it here on a Thursday around 7:30am and they had gotten me in and taken care of everything, got the part, gave me a call for an estimate and then a call once it was done. It’s not even noon yet and I’m going to pick it up! Love them and this place. Service is so great and they are very honest about the things that are wrong and will work with you. Absolutely loved the service definitely using this as my main place.

Great family run business. They can't do everything but are reasonably priced. Only open 8-5, Monday thru Friday but that's the way it should be.

Why I waited so long to try Payne's is beyond me! What a TERRIFIC experience we had there with the diagnosis and replacement of an alternator. The customer service was exceptional, the quality of the work equally so, and the billing very reasonable. I highly recommend this shop, which is an independent business "gem" in Clintonville!
