Phillip is amazing! I've taken 2 of my Mercedes there, his prices are unbeatable, the service is fantastic and he doesn't try to surprise you with extra services or parts you don't need! He's upfront about the cost, and 90 percent of the time it's a lot less than the estimate!! I'll continue going there until he retires!!

Please do not buy or go there for any services. On May 6th I bought a used car from there and on May 10th it broke down. The car’s motor had locked up. I was driving to Jackson, Ms to get the title switched over to me and while driving the oil light came on. I called Mr Phillip Wood and he explained that he had changed the oil and there was no need to go by an oil shop to get it changed. He said to just bring it by the next day to have it out on the machine to see what’s the issue. Well low and behold I listen to him and after taking care of my business with the title I’m driving back on I 55 and the motor locks up now I’m stuck on the side of the road in Bogue Chitto, Ms. This was on my birthday. I had to pay two wrecker services a total of $400 dollars to get it to McComb and from there to his shop in Slidell, La. He checks it out and goes on to tell me that there isn’t any oil in the vehicle and that I DRAINED IT OUT. I’m a school teacher and doesn’t know the first thing about draining oil out of a car. Plus why would I pay $4000 dollars for a car just to mess it up. Fast forward to now, he agreed to put another engine in my car if I pay for the engine but he wants me to pay for everything before he does the work. How STUPID does he think I am? He wants me to pay for a service before it’s rendered. That’s insane. Please for your own good and sanity do not take your business to Phillip Wood. He gives his own self reviews. Scammers

Quick honest service. Their prices are fair. I love their attention to detail. And he's very reliable. I've been going to Philip for a while now and he is the only mechanic I would go to in Slidell.

Called to see if they were able to work on rotary engines and the first thing the man told me wasn’t no or sorry but instead “we’ll pass” that absolutely enraged me. I’m just called because it’s Northshore FOREIGN and domestic so my bad for calling to ask.

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!! …Service was completed months ago and the hood of my vehicle was left slightly opened I didn’t notice it until I got on the interstate and it flew opened and damaged and almost caused a bad accident. I informed the owner about it and to make sure it’s closed for my next service he insisted that it wasn’t an error he made even though I didn’t ask for any reimbursement fee or extra sympathy whatsoever. Not learning my lesson from that experience I dropped my vehicle here once again nearly two weeks went by and I hadn’t heard anything from them so I decided to go in person to follow up on them I noticed my sunroof was opened all those days of it being left parked. I’m sure that’s an error I made myself but one would thing a place providing great customer service would’ve closed the sunroof for a frequent customer. Lastly, the last time service was completed the owner said my airbags wasn’t working and I knew it was a scheme to get extra service and money because when I arrived I pressed the airbag button and the airbags lifted the truck right up..Horrible service, lengthy service, and much dishonesty for a paying customer who asked for nothing in return for my hood being damaged but for them to not make the same error again

I made the drive out to Slidell, from New Orleans, after Guys Auto in Metairie quoted me an insane amount to replace a A/C switch. Called around, and either no one had availability, worked on my type of car, or would give me straight pricing answer. The first place in Slidell I tried was this one and they were super straight forward and honest. They replaced the sensor in less than a day, and charged me less than half than other shop, because they were honest on the amount of chargeable time. I’ll go out of my way to visit this shop again.

I tell you what this is the worriest shop I've ever been to in my life 2months my car was there 850$ dollars he charge to change my blinker switch and still not fix and he drives your car to other shops with out your permission so they works on it and you get charge double please people go somewhere else it's a rip off

I was working in the Slidell area on a Saturday when my car went into limp mode and was misfiring.Hoping to find a shop open, I found Northshore.The gentleman diagnosed my issue and I was back on the road in an hour.Excellent service & prices.

I’ve been going here for about 6-7 years and this is the first shop (owner) I trust. I moved to Atlanta 3 years ago and make sure every time I visit Louisiana I take my car to Northshore. He does great work and gives honest advice as opposed to just trying to make a sale like most businesses. Finding him was a blessing. Update (June 2023): Not changing from five stars because of one bad incident out of probably 50 visits, but I am adding that the last time I went a worker did my brakes and did not check to see if I needed new rotors. When I asked he was too busy. I paid over $220 for front brake pads. It’s been less than a year and now my front rotors are bad and my pads have worn down as a result. I add this to push the workers to thoroughly check on what’s best for customers even during extremely busy times.

Needed new bearing installed in my 2016 ram 1500, called up and talked to well mannered British man that owns north-shore foreign and domestic named Phillip. He gave a qoute that was very reasonable of $800+ for both bearings.so truck was brought in.Fast forward 2 weeks and I here a screeching sound,then my front tire locks up and stuck in New Orleans down town with a blown bearing. I called north shore and let them know my bearing had failed and asked if they would let a shop somewhere close fix the problem and if it was bearing they would cover cost, they told me no and I’d have to bring it in. So I had 6 brothers tow my truck to Slidell from nola for $220 and what a great company that is! The next morning by 10am Phillip called and said truck was ready, I asked him what was problem and he replied it was a loose bearing!!??!! I already knew it was the bearing , but what is a loose bearing? So when I arrive having to take an Uber, I am talking to Phillip about the loose bearing. He states it was loose, I replied what do you mean by loose? After 5 minutes of going back and forth with him and his mechanic what a loose bearing was, he finally said it was a manufacturers faulty bearing. So finally we are getting somewhere. I ask can I see the bearing, he said it already went back to auto zone. So now without showing me the destroyed part I’m suppose to believe these clowns. So getting nowhere with this I asked to get reimbursed for the towing fee and they flat out told me no.I replied you will not be seeing a favorable review from me and Phillip replied” if I’d have known that I wouldn’t have fixed your truck”. So think twice when you meet this well mannered Englishman it’s a front! And his mechanic was bossing him around like he was the owner.hilarious. Mechanic not well mannered at all, rude redneck would be more fitting. So now I’m forced to have to take my truck in to another mechanic to inspect there work, because when I left my truck started to vibrate at 70. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

The work they did was great. Reasonable price and completed fairly quickly especially considering how long people are waiting for car parts right now. The con is the customer service, I got different answers and responses from each person. The biggest issue I had came after I paid thousands for the work only to have my check engine light come back on. I called the shop and they said bring it back and they will run a scan on the codes. I turn around and go back to the shop only to have the man working the counter tell me they are closed to leave my keys and they will call me Monday. Seriously the worst customer service. I am not one to be demanding but I just paid a lot of money and I just want to make sure it's not the same codes. Would have taken 15 minutes. Good work but I'm not sure I would use them again. Repeat business is not only about quality work its building a trusting relationship.

These guys are the real deal! I was in need and they did above and beyond to help my husband and I. My car coolant fan stopped working and my car shut down while we were an hour away from home. This was an emergency on a Saturday. They got the part, they fixed my car and I couldnt be happier with my fully functional blowing COLD ac! Thank you guys! I recommend, 5 stars. 10 out of 10! Phenomenal Shop!
