I called Friday after having taken my car to another local mechanic. They didn’t have the equipment to fix the issue and referred me here. I wasn’t expecting having to find another place to fix the issue, so I called here and explained the situation, how I was heading to an appt and I would stop by after to get the estimate. The guy was honest and said, you’ll have to wait, but yes, stop by and we’ll see if we can help . Fast forward and my appt took longer and so I called and another guy answered. I explained I was supposed to stop by and the day has gotten away from me. He cuts me off and says well when was your appt. I explained I didn’t have one and began to refer to my earlier call with him cutting me off asking my name. I gave him my name and he says, I don’t see anything with your name for today. I began to explain again and he cut me off stating the day was almost over. I inquired if they took appointments and he says yes, what do you need to get done. I again attempt to explain why I was referred there and he said yeah, you need a diagnosis it’s best to leave it all day and stated it’s $160 plus tax or something for them to look at the car stating it’ll take so long blah blah. Again, I attempted to explain I knew what was wrong and just needed them to confirm and give me the estimate. He states again, the whole diagnosis thing and the cost. I said, I have had two places look at it for FREE but they could make the repair due to needing certain equipment they didn’t have…he cut me off again and stated the diagnosis cost and to leave it all day. I explained either way I’d have to wait because I have no other choice. He says well I guess if you are okay with waiting all day. So here’s the deal. Poor customer service. You don’t keep cutting someone off. If he would’ve listened, I didn’t need a diagnosis and for them to take hours to locate the problem. That had already been done for FREE by two other places that referred their business to this place because they supposedly had the ability to actually make the repair. The proper and professional way to handle this would be to listen. Then offer what you are offering. Yes mam, I understand you were referred and this is what’s wrong, swing by, we’ll confirm and give you an estimate and confirm we can do the repair OR we require a diagnosis fee but if confirmed then we’ll apply the fee to the repair OR yeah, we fix that but regardless we require you to pay us to diagnose with our techs and then after that fee we’ll give you an estimate…the first guy that answered the call earlier in the day was honest and set correct expectations. The second who answered, was a jerk and therefore, will not get my business. I will also share with the other two shops that I did not have a great experience and to think twice when referring them business. If you are too busy to answer the phone and be polite, let it ring.

Good and honest, with a personal and welcoming atmosphere. Fixed our Jeep, and we plan to be taking all our cars there in the future. This is a wonderful mechanic shop!

Tommy and the team did an incredible job of diagnosing the issues with our car, going above and beyond what our dealership did to find the root cause of the problem instead of just going with a solution from the manual. I will be going back to them if I ever have car trouble again in Florida!

Very rude,They make you feel stupid if you don’t know about cars. Just rude and awful experience talking to them for five minutes and I’ve never left a review call back to talk to the person that replied to my review just so they could tell me they watched a video and their person did nothing wrong so why they left that for me to call don’t do it

The entire team from the initial contact to the service performed is outstanding. There isn't any car servicing business in Jacksonville that even comes close to the honesty you can expect to receive here. Tim and his staff are top notch. I am so glad to have found a car care center I can trust. I had a low oil pressure light come on and these guys could have told me several things needed replacing, costing me lots of $$$. Instead they ran diagnostic tests and test drove my car and reported they couldn’t find anything wrong with my oil pressure. They mentioned it was time for an oil change, which I knew and my battery was getting low and provided a snapshot of my battery test showing it was functioning at a fair level. I purchased a battery and oil change and they even gave me Roadside Assistance free for 1 year! I highly recommend North FL Garage!!

Jeff and Danny always take great care of me.They explain everything when it comes to breakdowns on prices for parts and labor. The communication at mechanic shops always lack. Not at North Florida Garage. I highly recommend these guys.

If you are in need of a mechanic look no further than North Florida Garage. We took my husbands truck for an oil leak that they were not only able to find but also quote an affordable price to fix. We dropped it off on a Tuesday and it was ready to pick up that Wednesday! The people were very nice and welcoming. The shop was put together so nicely for their customers! We will forever be customers but also will recommend to all our family and friends to go to North Florida Garage.
