I looked on Google at reviews of different auto places in Lincoln and came across Norms. After looking at reviews I was excited to get into to see them for a front suspension noise. I did know before I took it in that the motor mount was broken and something else was going on in the front end but I wasn't sure what else. I dropped it off at 830am and by 4pm was getting worried I had not heard from anyone. I got back to Norms and they told me it took hours to figure out what the sound was.,... They said that the car noise was very hard to find and they ended up wanting to charge me 1500.00 for New calipers...they said the calipers were so loose and worn out they needed to all be replaced.....they found NOTHING else wrong. I told them I would have to wait a couple of weeks because I needed to get together money. Something felt very off and I kept looking at my calipers and they weren't loose at all and the sound was not coming from them. I took my vehicle into a different auto repair place in town and was told there was NOTHING wrong with my calipers at all.The new auto place showed me visually that My rack and pinion was going bad and leaking and of course the motor mount was broken. I received a text a few days after service asking about my NORMS experience....I replied back ..thanks I need help...it was a horrible experience and I feel LIED to and I would like my "diagnostic fee" of 122.00 back.....I tried also calling and was told someone would call me back....sadly it's been 2 months now...NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME..wasted money and time...STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... sure maybe they have good feedback..but WHY LIE to my face about a NON existant problem?! OR SOMEONE COMPLETELY GOT THINGS WRONG... VERY ODD I really wanted to find a good trustworthy mechanic 😢

Ian and the rest of the guys are terrific. Very honest and very competent. I know several people that take their vehicles to Norm's and everyone has great things to say.

I heard good things about this place so I decided to call them for an estimate when I finally needed an auto repair. My beater vehicle had been experiencing issues with starting so I took it to Auto Zone to test the battery I recently purchased from them. They diagnosed the issue and determined that my alternator was going bad. Already knowing what needed to be replaced, I called Norm’s for an estimate and was told that I could only get an estimate if they diagnosed my vehicle, which means paying them to diagnose a problem that was previously diagnosed. The only way to not pay for their diagnosis would be to have my vehicle serviced there. They told me that a specific model and options could change the estimate by $100 or more, but they weren’t interested in what my model was or its non-existent options. I asked a couple of times about sharing that information with them so I could get an estimate but they kept making it clear that no estimate would be provided without their diagnosis even if I provided all information necessary to provide an estimate. To be even more clear, I had never asked for the most perfect estimate either so it’s not like I was getting these unhelpful responses due to something that I caused. I told them I’d have to look elsewhere, which I did, and every other shop I called was easily able to provide an estimate over the phone. I’m excited for my appointment at Autotecks tomorrow for a very fair price, which was less than half of the estimate received from Firestone on N 66th. I don’t appreciate Norm’s crooked business practices and I will not be considering them for future repairs.

I've been taking my vehicles to Norm's for a few years, after my last trusted mechanic sold his shop. Ian and the crew have taken GREAT care of me and our vehicles. They're very helpful, kind, and they have such a great attitude when answering the phone and helping with questions. It's no wonder they've been around for three generations. I'm thankful to have found Norm's Car Care. If you need a place that does great work, communicates well, and most importantly, is trustworthy, then Norm's is the spot!

Excellent service from Ian! From an issue I had three trips to a dealership they couldn’t diagnose, to one trip to Norm’s, my car is up and running again good as new! Outstanding, same-day work. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality work!

I have taken my car to Norm's on 40th twice now, after looking online for a reputable place for car repairs. Both times I have gone there, the staff have gone above and beyond in assisting me in, beyond just the services rendered. The first time I went there was because of electrical issues preventing my car from starting. Ian went through the entire electrical system to track down the problem, which I had assumed was a faulty engine MCU. It took a bit of time to find the fault, but when he came back with the answer and a repair, I was much better than I had anticipated going in. Beyond the work though, which I would hope any good shop would do, when I mentioned that I could pay now, but have to bike up after dropping off my work vehicle, they offered to drive my car to my house for me saving me the hot afternoon of biking 8 miles. It was completely unexpected and extremely appreciated. The second time I brought my car in I needed my brakes replaced as they had just started squealing. Ian called me after checking the vehicle out and let me know that my rear brakes were fine but my front brakes were essentially down to the metal. The honesty in letting me know they only had to replace the front brakes instead of doing all 4 as I had expected was great. As well, I was running late to get back that day and called them 15 minutes before close to ask if they could take my card over the phone so I could pick my car up since I wont be able to get there before 5. They took the time to explain they typically work late and if I was there by 5:25 they would still be working and not to worry about being late. Sure enough they were there after 5, working away, when I was able to arrive and pay for the repairs. The work they do is fantastic, but the service and kindness they provide goes well above what I had anticipated. They have made me a fan of their shop; Norms on 40th & A is my shop any time my vehicle needs work now.

My family has been going to Norms for as long as I can remember. I’ve personally been taking my vehicles there almost 20 years. Exceptional service. I was having some major issues with my vehicle a few weeks ago. I broke down in Omaha, but always prefer to take it to Norms. I was able to get it towed to Lincoln, and Ian went above and beyond (as he and his staff always do) to fix the issues I was having. When I say “above and beyond” I’m not exaggerating. He stayed late so I could get a ride to my vehicle (before I towed it there) so he could give me some step by step instructions about checking my fuse box. They’ve always been exceptional there. This was just the most recent time I’ve had to go there. I highly recommend, and I always recommend to friends and family.

Norm's is fantastic. Above and beyond service every time Recently my starter went out and I dropped my car off unannounced and after hours. Despite being booked for 2 weeks out, they had me fixed up 3 business days later. Floorboards were vacuumed, fluids topped off and tires filled with air. I didn't ask for those things and they didn't mention it - it's just something they do every time. In the past they have given me rides to and from work while my car is in the shop. Excellent mechanics and even better customer service

Norm's is great. You can trust them to only fix what is needed and give you honest advice. They don't try to talk you into anything. They are busy for a reason -- great service.

This place is absolutely, positively amazing. Norm is a great guy and all of his mechanics take excellent care of their clients and their cars. Not to mention, they are not constantly looking for ways to up-charge. Truly feels like a mom and pop experience with the level of trust and reliability within their walls. Couldn’t recommend more.

I’ve always been treated with respect here. My dad used Norm’s and so have I for the past 10+ years. They’re honest and fair. The final pricing is never off from the estimate. I get a call before doing any work that wasn’t agreed to initially. I recommend them to anybody who is looking for a trustworthy auto shop.

They are a very busy shop but I was patient because I've heard nothing but good things about Norm's. They went over my truck and found a transmission issue. Even though I did not get it fixed (I plan to a few months away), they were professional, knowledgable & friendly. Will I be back? Absolutely.

Thought an oil change and tune-up would not be expensive services but ended up with the old trick of having these people charging women more than they likely do the bros. Have had that happen elsewhere and apparently didn't learn my lesson of getting an estimate before hand. Didn't think I would need one here cause of the positive reviews. Women need to stay away unless you get some estimates or they will be taking advantage.

Went in for a check to find out why my wheel was driving funny...Norms Did the work without my aproval.. was hoping for an estimate left with a $130 bill. Not too cool at Christmas Time.
