Why am I leaving this review? Because you simply cannot pull a knife on someone—what is this? That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. If you’re pulling out knives at your workplace, I can only imagine what’s happening behind closed doors. This is not only unprofessional but also dangerous. Joshua initially instructed the tow operator to pick up the vehicle from the back. The operator proceeded to do so, but then Joshua changed his mind and told him to pick it up from the front instead. Understandably, the tow operator became frustrated with the back-and-forth communication. Joshua later claimed the operator gave him an attitude—but he conveniently left out the part where he pulled out a knife. I have immense respect for the tow operator’s composure and de-escalating the situation by walking away. Later, Joshua attempted to apologize, but by then, the damage had already been done—he had revealed his true character. A police report should have been filed, but in the absence of one, I will simply leave photos of Joshua, taken on the date of the incident in front of My Mechanic Kirby. This kind of behavior should never be tolerated in the workplace. It’s unclear to me whether other employees are aware that this took place, but Joshua informed me that Macon was working that day. Take that reckless behavior elsewhere—it does not belong in a professional setting. Is this a mechanic shop or a halfway house?

One word explains why I will return back to this business - integrity. Toyota told me I needed an alignment, so I took my car here to get their opinion. They easily could have said I needed one and charged me for it, but instead they took the time to show me why I didn't AND filled up my tires with air, all for no charge. From here on out, they have the business of both my family vehicles.

Unfortunately had a rough Christmas when my transmission went out on the way to work while I was out of town (not from Houston). Luckily these guys were within limping distance and I was able to get a proper diagnosis. They didn't pressure me to spend any more money on the van understanding that sometimes it's just not worth it. They allowed me a few days to figure out what to do with it and were honest and fast with their work. I'll take my next vehicle to them no problem when I'm in town. Thanks Matt especially for the advice and generosity with my timing on retrieving the vehicle.

The team at My Mechanic on Kirby are nice, competent and have cared for my cars for the last 7 years. I trust their recommendations and recommend them to my friends. They have a nice waiting area for the quick jobs and are walking distance to many places to get lunch. Of course I've dropped off my car for the difficult jobs too.

I was in a pinch before a roadtrip on Friday and Macon and team were able to accommodate me and replace my battery on short notice. Had a follow up service on Monday and they did a great job on the service and the upfront communication. Really happy to find a quality mechanic in my new neighborhood

My Mechanic-Kirby is my go to place for car repairs- I love my car and it is 14 years old. Macon and Joshua are great to work with and I trust their recommendations for my car. They are also good about providing information about anticipating future repairs. My Mechanic’s online appointments make life so much easier for me and there is a clean and comfortable waiting room.

While traveling through Houston I was caught in a difficult situation with my vehicle, and Matt and James were able to get me back up and running in a timely manner. I appreciated their transparent process and friendly atmosphere, and I would absolutely not hesitate to business here again. Highly recommend these guys!

TLDR: They were negligent and did not properly shut my hood... it flew up on the freeway immediately after I retrieved the vehicle... refused to take responsibility They serviced my car for 4 years and were always friendly and accommodating... until they didn't shut my hood properly and it flew up on the freeway immediately after leaving their shop. They refused to have a manager call us for over 3 weeks and then resorted to attempts to intimidate us. At no point did they express concern for what could have caused a catastrophic accident (and did in fact ultimately cause $4k in damage to the car), nor would they cooperate with providing their professional liability insurance. After being forced to file under our insurance, we've since found out... they are UN INSURED which is HIGHLY concerning.... BEWARE. Owner's comment below LIES on 2 key points: 1) Insurance assigned blame to them immediately after the incident... there have been no changes on this. Business attempted to intimidate us by sending us over 5 videos of security footage with the manager, James Powell, describing how "we have videos of you dropping/picking up the car" ... all of which were undisputed facts of the incident's timeline. The security footage was grainy and to act like whether or not the hood was latched is visible from the footage is rather absurd.... 2) Owner is now acting like I took the vehicle elsewhere between when they serviced the vehicle and when the incident occurred. During my oil change service, I did discuss selling the vehicle. However... no one else touched the hood that day.... Hood latch was inspected by a 3rd party mechanic after the incident who confirmed it was in good working order and therefore incident was caused by negligence.

These guys are fantastic! In addition to quick and great service, Macon and Peter are television worthy comics. The guys in the shop work very hard and are great at finding and solving problems. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Went in for an inspection. The office was clean and the employees were very pleasant. I couldn’t hear a thing in the waiting room and was able to focus on my work until the inspection was completed. Great experience and I will certainly be returning

My Mechanic has been helping me out since at least 2016. I have stayed with them and there have been zero surprises that I didn't already know they would find anyways. They remain honest and fair. Give them a shot if you need help. My SUV is 18 years old and they keep it running!
