As far as I can tell the job was completed, mind you it’s only been 2 days. But as I review the invoice I realize most of the $700 bill we received was labor. From the time I gave them the ok to fix it to the time they called and said it was done, it was 2 hours. Some how there are 5.5 hours worth of labor charges. So I’m confused as to how this works. Parts were $200 total. So $500 in labor for 2 maybe 3 hours of labor seems a bit ridiculous. I’m assuming that’s for 2 guys, but even so, if it was 2 guys, I would guarantee those 2 employees are making NOWHERE near $500 for what they did. Will not be returning.

Great service as always. Roger got my old truck to pass smog which always has problems passing due to not completing it's drive cycle. Have been taking my truck here for years. Thanks guys!

Easily the best and most reliable shop in Mira Mesa. They never fleece you and do their job sincerely. The lady Shannon is really nice and says as it is. They even suggested me not to put more money for some struts as it won’t be worth it. If you want an honest shop and good mechanics, you should give them a try.

Smog check on a 15 year old car and I’m from out of state. Can be nerve racking but Shannon and staff were competent and friendly and the price was right. Two other customers in the nice waiting room were very long time customers and I enjoyed their company.

I went in to get several of my lights fixed, and the lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. She really knew her stuff and even made suggestions on where I can buy the products for the cheapest if I wanted to do it myself. So many businesses prior to my visit tried to milk me as much as they could. These people are very intentional and that resonates a lot with my style of business. Super professional staff. I’ll be coming here again for future needs.

I went to get an oil change done on Tuesday at 9:30am. I've been going to Mira Mesa Automotive for over 10 years. The owner Jim is one of the kindest and honest man I know. The other workers Shannon, Rodger, and Brian are also amazing people to know. It's a small garage , but it's a gem 💎. You can always count on a fair prices and your car taken care of each and every time. If you have AAA, you can also get a discount. Oh don't forget, appointments are welcome. My brake bleed experience The good There are not a lot of people that will deal with an older car, they will. At the end of it all they did not charge me The bad I wasted about 4 hours of my time Brakes were not functioning at all when the car was returned. A right front tire partially soaked in brake fluid. I received and paid a tow truck bill The ugly We both were sloppy in making clear what was to be done and by when, if you leave a car with them, document that first. They wasted some of their valuable time and didn't get paid. I felt pressured into having work done that I didn't want. Longer version, I had a disappointing experience with them, I'm sure they are not happy with me either. I made an appointment to get the brakes bleed on my 54-year-old car on Friday afternoon. After a very friendly drop off I got a call 3 hours later just before they closed that there were a lot of things wrong with the car(they said only one brake caliper was working, there was a coolant leak, and oil leak, suspension bushing worn, and they weren't done inspecting) and they needed to keep it while they figured out exactly what needed to be done. It is an old car and I'm well aware that there are things that need to be addressed, but I just wanted the brakes bled to fix the soft pedal I was experiencing. I was headed out of town so I decided to just go get the car and deal with it later. I went back to pick it up Friday afternoon and they were closed, I called them first thing Saturday morning and told them of my decision. They were understandably not happy, and told me all the calibers were off the car and they couldn't get it back together before Monday after I left. I told them that wasn't acceptable to me, and that I hadn't authorized anything other than bleeding the brakes. After a couple of unpleasant phone calls, they told me I could come get the car, but it had to be towed as the brakes were no good. I arranged for a tow pick up and got the car back. I asked them if I owed them anything for the inspection and they said no, perhaps because there was no paper work authorizing them to do what they did, perhaps out of the goodness of their hearts. They did say they created the authorization and gave me a copy before I left the car. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps when they returned my registration paper work they thought some authorization paperwork was included. I don't remember seeing or signing any paper work, and none was included in the registration paperwork they returned to me. They did have me sign some paperwork to release the car back to me.

My grandson is attending Miramar community college and was having car issues. With connections only in Wisconsin, AAA towed it to Mira Mesa Automotive Repair. The service was beyond our expectations. The price was fair and Shannon and Jim were so great to deal with. You can't go wrong going here if you have car problems.
