These guys come highly rated and I see why. I took my Van in and asked them to do an oil change and give it a thorough look over to make sure it didn’t need something. It’s a 2007 Dodge Caravan. I could have been setting myself up to be taken advantage of. I had been told by my neighbor they were great to work with and honest. I read their reviews and checked them out on the BBB. They rated high. All I needed extra was a brake fluid change and it was put to me as “something to consider even if down the road” No high pressure at all. I had them do it. It was very reasonable. My van has 119,000 miles and I was expecting it could need a lot. I even had them check the windshield wipers and they said I didn’t need any.😳 Amazing! I never left Petersons in Nampa from an oil change without a long list of things to have done. The fact it took me almost a month to schedule an oil change speaks volumes. They said they only fix what needs done not just do it because they can. I will definitely be going back. Thanks!

BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!! Multiple things this shop did rubbed me the wrong way. These guys have a “kind” customer service voice for sure but that does not negate the fact they talk down to you and try to rush through your questions, take your money, and get you out asap. Their process for diagnosing an issue needs attention!!! Hire a smarter and wiser mechanic if you need! Yes, they do discourage certain repairs initially and suggest others (with the guise of saving you money so you have to be thankful) , but only to charge you extra labor later when the original thing does need repaired. Also, if the shop takes your money and then the issue persists… they should prioritize that mistake as soon as possible. Not at their earliest convenience weeks later. That’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t matter what money they lose from moving around their schedule cause they stole your money when they didn’t fix your vehicle. And finally when they do get your vehicle in and you ask to buy a simple oil change when they’re already under the hood?? No chance at that here. They roll you in, take as much money as they can get, and RUSH you out of there… MBC&A don’t bother to reply here. I know you just lie with a smile to good folks to try and keep your image up. It’s clear you won’t change your behavior and just make up excuses.

Probably this review echos a lot of what’s been said in other reviews. Very honest. Told me a 3,000 dollar series of tune ups recommended elsewhere didn’t need to be done. Like none of them. When I asked how much I owed they said, nothing. When I asked if they could at least change my air filters to pay them something, they said “no, because they didn’t need changed”. And it wasn’t just me - I was waiting for my car and overheard a mechanic tell the desk guy not to charge another client anything because what they tried to fix his car didn’t work. 🤯🤯🤯. They didn’t want any of my money today, but they’ll get some of it later because I’m a customer now. Businesses like this are few and far between.

Update: I originally posted this review below 9 years ago. I’d give them 10 stars today if I could. They are the most competent, honest and customer service oriented mechanics that I’ve ever done business with. They exceeded my expectations again today like they have many times. They’ve earned my loyalty and that of my family! Can't say enough good about these people. I heard about them from two different trusted sources. I've switched over to them for the maintenance of all my vehicles this past year. They always seem to deliver more in service value than they charge me in dollars. They are quick and efficient and know how to get the job done. They keep me coming back and I plan to stay with them for a long time. I've already told others about them.
