This shop did a fantastic job and went above and beyond to work out transportation to and from the shop. The pricing was competitive so it was a no brainer. I've been looking for a new trusted mechanic since my previous shop sold and retired and this first brake job was a great experience.

Avoid Midas (Pontiac/Waterford Locations) A few months ago, I brought a vehicle to the Midas Pontiac location for a routine oil change. During their inspection, they claimed my brake pads needed immediate replacement. I had them independently inspected and confirmed the brake pads were in perfectly fine condition. Despite this, I decided to give them another chance recently when I brought my Chevy Impala for another oil change. This time, they inspected my vehicle and claimed the transmission cooler lines were leaking, quoting me over $800 for the repair. When I mentioned that my power steering had been repaired a couple of months ago after previously leaking, they backtracked, admitting it was a mistake and dismissed the issue. Since that repair, there hadn’t been a single drop of fluid under my car. I live only a quarter mile from this location, and my car drove fine on the way home. However, the next morning, I started my car, made it to the end of my block, and completely lost power steering. Upon checking, I found that there was no power steering fluid left in the reservoir. I called the Pontiac location to report the issue and was met with nothing but attitude. Frustrated, I contacted their Waterford location, as I knew they were affiliated. They told me I’d need to pay to have my car towed to them for an inspection, only to be told they wouldn’t take responsibility for any damage or repairs. This has been my second bad experience with Midas. Not only do I believe they caused the power steering issue, but I also found their attitude dismissive and unprofessional. Now, I’m left with a car that is inoperable, the hassle of paying for a tow, and the cost of repair at a different shop. If you value honesty, professionalism, and peace of mind, avoid the Midas locations on Telegraph in Pontiac and Dixie Highway in Waterford. Based on my experience, I cannot trust them, and I regret ever bringing my vehicles there.

Excellent communication with James at the Pontiac location. Very helpful and would highly recommend having your car serviced at Midas. They are extremely knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything.

I had a great experience with James at Midas. He took the time to listen to my concerns about a previous repair, and he went above and beyond to ensure our car was running properly. I really appreciated his extra attention to detail and the quick turnaround time. Initially, I was quite frustrated about the situation, but James handled it with professionalism and empathy. James was absolutely phenomenal. I had my car overheat last night and he got me in right away in the morning. My car was done within 6 hours. He gave me a thorough estimate and explained everything so well. He even reached out to my dad at my request to explain what was wrong. He was so friendly and easy to work with. Will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know. I can’t thank this team enough for getting my car back in working order so efficiently and thoroughly!!

This location only carries full synthetic oil and wanted $68 for an oil change. After you arrive for your appointment you’re told, “this store doesn’t participate in the coupon” when clearly the stores location is on the coupon, clearly a bait and switch pricing system, went elsewhere for my oil change, synthetic blend is what I needed and what was confirmed prior to going to this place. Lackluster customer service, guy clearly didn’t care whatsoever.

Absolutely perfect service! 🥰 Not the location I would normally pick to go to but the great coupon and being in proximity to the store gave me motivation to take the chance and what I witnessed exceptional service. It is refreshing to have someone tell you exactly what they are going to do by when and actually do it. So rare!! They have a ping pong table in the lobby which says it all. My suggestion for everyone is to try them out. I believe they practice to spirt of ping pong diplomacy."The purpose of ping-pong diplomacy was to improve relations between the United States and China by promoting cultural exchange and dispelling stereotypes." In this case the stereotypes related to the location. Good service always improves relationships. Great job!

I’m very disappointed with the service I received. The facility does not honor its own terms and conditions, frequently changing them when customers arrive. This leaves customers unable to get the most out of their visit. Additionally, the customer service team was rude and unprofessional, which made the experience even worse. I expected better and hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve future service, which I would never recommend to this Midas to anyone!!

Team is very nice and honest. I brought my truck in for new brake pads at 40,000 miles. After the inspection, Midas informed me with pictures, I should have 30,000 more miles before I really need new brake pads. I was very pleased with the honesty. I will be bringing more of my auto requirements to this location.
