There was one Associate who was very rude his name was Shane or Shawn. I waited patiently to ask if my car was done. He yelled to back ask another Associate to help me. He said rudely can someone please help this woman. There was another lady behind me he says nicely to her can i help you. It was his tone of voice maybe his racism towards his own kind. Meaning he is also Mexican. At least Shane or Shawn could've said wait one second someone will be right with you. That would've been more appropriate to address situation. He was rude and seemed racist

I arrived at meinike and the gentleman was very kind, patient, and informative. I asked how long the wait was, he told me 45minutes. I asked if by any chance they could finish faster id really appreciate it. I sustained a back injury and I couldn’t sit or stand too long. He said he’d try. Less than 25 minutes later my car was done. I really appreciate that! I don’t expect that to be the case every time but it’s nice to be accommodated and acknowledged.

I have a Chevy Blazer that has all kinds of sensors throughout. When my dash lit up and was dinging at me I immediately stressed out. Took my car in and Shane L. was so so helpful! First time taking EV vehicle to someone other than dealership. Saw their sign recently changed to Meinekev so thought I would give them a shot. Must say I was very impressed. Had car towed there so never actually met anyone until pickup. The guys kept me updated on what was going on and never once tried to sell me something I didn't need. They were able to diagnose and complete what was needed and I didn't pay an arm and a leg. Thanks Meinekev. I will be back (or hopefully not)

My experience at Meineke in Ahwatukee was very professional and honest. I requested they check my exhaust system because I thought there was a problem. They did not find a problem and did not charge me for the evaluation. It was like I remembered the old local garages: they gave me an honest evaluation and did not repair something that did not need to be repaired. I will definitely return to the Ahwatukee Meineke when I need work done on my car.

No due diligence are the key words. I brought my daughter’s car in for a check engine light. I had a FIXD device to identify the code and told them. They checked the car and came back with an almost $4000 repair, mostly labor costs, for ECM and Transmission module failure identifying the same code I found. They told us they reset the check light multiple times and it would reappear even when the car was just idling. TCM was definitely bad they said. Also they said the battery was bad and failed load test, even though the battery was bought in July. The cost was too much so we left paying them $200 for the diagnostic. I told this info to a friend who did some quick search on some auto forum and YouTube. He told me that the code was related to a simple fix many people had discovered.(my error not checking it first) Were the battery terminals corroded? Causing poor signal to electronic components could cause this check light and code. I checked the terminals and yes they had lots of corrosion. Why didn’t Meineke know to do this!!?? I bought battery terminals at OReilly and had them check the battery. They said the battery was good and held load fine. I changed the battery terminals for $40, reset the engine light and drove the car for 2 days and no check engine light. On the 3rd day driving the check light appeared. I used my device for the code and it was completely different. No ECM. No Trans Module. 1 code appeared for the Auto Grill Shutters. We took the car to Nissan to have it checked and verified. I wanted to see if the other codes for ECM and TCM would be found. Nissan confirmed the code I found Grill Shutters and nothing else. In addition Nissan charged $169 for diagnostic check. Cheaper! I also asked Nissan what their hourly labor rate and it was $179. Cheaper! Meineke wanted to charge $184. In addition, within that almost $4000 estimate of work from Meineke was a $552 diagnostic for the ECM just to find where an electrical problem was, not to fix it. Why didn’t they know to just check, clean, replace battery terminals first for this check engine error when so many other people were aware? The battery had corrosion, they said they did a load test, why didn’t they see the corrosion and address it? It was a simple battery fix they could have done. I fixed the car for $40, and minimal effort. As I said No Due Diligence!

I cannot thank Shane and his crew enough for the great work they have done on my Explorer. This is the first auto repair shop where I feel like I am not being sold on anything. As a matter of fact, I always feel like I am being given the best deal they are able to provide. That is huge to me. I used to send my husband to take my car in before we found this Meineke location, since I always felt uncomfortable discussing vehicle maintenance. At Meineke, they provide an inspection report with pictures, identify which items are green, yellow and red, so it makes it super easy to make sure you are taking care of critical items first. Thank you, Shane and the whole Meineke team!
