I've been using McNeilly Automotive for over 20 years. Mark and Dave are straight shooters and I've always been treated very fairly. Recently, I had a check engine light come on and took it to McNeilly. They diagnosed the issue and after researching on line, found that the issue was a common one for the year the vehicle was manufactured and may be covered under warranty. They then referred me to a trusted dealer. They didn't need to do that, and could have simply made the repair and I wouldn't have been any wiser. I'll continue to deal with them for all my normal automotive needs.

On 12/17/24 my car was looked at, diagnosed to try to fix my (car with a poor heat) problem and then was picked up- only to be dropped back off for 12/27 to get the work done… because I needed to use my car. On 12/17 picking the car up, I talked to the manager Dave, spoke, and specifically stated I was willing to have the thermostat, and water pump done, nothing else. I’m preemptively telling the readers, that I had a serpentine belt put on at another shop on 10/30/24 with no issues. When it was all said and done, McNeilly Automotive decided to replace the brand new serpentine belt I just recently had installed and also an idler pulley, with no discussion with me to why? and no consent. On the 27th I was told the car was done, I paid for it over the phone, I had to explain to the “lady in the office” how to do this, asked to have my keys locked into the car, because I wasn’t sure if I was able to get there before they closed. But, I arrived 15 minutes before they closed, I walked in and asked (the lady in the office- heavy- don’t know her name- but is ignorant, unprofessional, lies, and is incompetent) if Dave, or the technician that worked on my car was still there, she stated no, they all had left for the evening. I said I’m not sure about a few things on the bill. She grabbed the bill and I started to question certain charges, and as doing so a technician walked into the office. And as I asked her questions about the belt and pulley, and the technician intervened, started to try to answer my questions and he was struggling to make sense of it, so she jumped out of her chair in discuss and grabbed a business card, and said, “I don’t know anything, your going to have to talk to Dave Monday morning.” And I knew that seemed a bit odd, she stated the technician wasn’t there, but there is a tech in the office now answering questions, and he is stumbling and fumbling with no justification what so ever, to my questions, so she wanted to shew me out of the office. I called Dave on Monday and questioned the specific charges that were on the bill, and he stated that “the belt was replaced because there were no numbers on it. I was lol… I said you could see it was brand new, not sure what we’re talking about as in numbers, but it was not cracked or dry rotted, and how could it be, it wasn’t even 2 mos. old, and I got over 105,000 miles from the original belt. He said again, “it had no numbers on it, I didn’t know how old it was, so I replaced it, and the idler pulley was making noise.” I was then told his resume, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years.” I said this was the most ridiculous answer one could give and you should know better, if you’ve been doing it for “30 years” I knew where this conversation was going, he’s very argumentative, and the last thing he was going to do was admit guilt. I’m sure if you pay your bill with no questions asked he’s the nicest guy in the world. McNeilly Automotive, Dave were fraudulent and they lie. I look at the reviews and wonder, how many others were dealt with fraudulent charges and just payed the bill, and didn’t know any better, thinking the place was great. I will say they got me in right away, and the work was done quickly, the heat so far works well, although it’s been above 40 deg outside since I’ve picked car up. McNeilly Automotive, Dave, office personnel, tech… they lie, belt didn’t need replaced, idler pulley never made noise for me, was never discussed, they had the car all day the 17th never mentioned to me a pulley noise, I drove the car until the 26th when it was dropped off, never made a noise. Where I got the serpentine belt put on in October- pulley never made a noise. All in all: live and learn, and I hope you know just a little bit about automotive mechanics, if you’re taking your car to McNeilly Automotive. Look over the work they provide, and look over your bill, DON’T ASSUME DAVE IS BEING UP FRONT AND HONEST WITH YOU!

Drove up from Maryland to fix my sons jeep abs sensor, but could get to hub without a lift. I called McNeilly and they said bring it on down. Within an hour he hooked up the sensor and charged a very small fee to do it. This is the kind of garage you want your kids to go to; trustworthy, extremely fair and two of the nicest people I've met in Pittsburgh. My son recommends them to all his friends and coworkers. Can't review them high enough!

I was lost! I never dealt with vehicle maintenance or repairs. “Ex” handled it. My mother, who’s 85, been taking her car there since my Fathers passing. Over the years, she’d talk about how kind, honest, reasonable priced, the great work they did and how she trust them. In the Spring, my “Check Engine” light came on. I took my car to be serviced for an exhausted issue. I have been taken my car there ever since. Both Dave and Mark are very professional, tell it straight, price the job, break it down and call before they do the work. I’m was comforted by their transparency and extremely satisfied with the service they provided. I will forever take my vehicle(s) to them and I highly recommended there services.

My tire was going flat. Needed it checked & plugged. They took me right away... No waiting! Very nice guy! In addition, I was going to stop at Advanced Auto to get tire caps I noticed were missing. He saved me a trip because he was kind enough to put the missing ones on out of the kindness of his heart without me even asking or knowing until the tire was completed. They have my business for whatever I will need next. Thank you!
