Trusted this shop because we’ve been here before, but this time around we did not have a good experience. We paid $2300 for the problem to not be fixed and for my car to come out in worse condition. My car was making a loud ticking noise and they claimed it was issues with the computer and so on. My heater also wasn’t working in my car and they claimed fix that too. My heater works “sometimes” now and now when I need cool air there’s a 3 minute delay before it comes on. The ticking was not as loud on my car but now we’re back to the original sound and after driving for an extended period of time, it sounds like I’m driving a space ship. Do not recommend this place!

I just want to extend my sincere appreciation to John and Mike and crew for getting my 1985 Olds 98 ressurected from the dead. Can't say enough for there up front will do and can do professionalism. I Highly recommend 👌 these guys who do what they say and say what they do. Many blessings to this shop and owners.

John was very knowledgable and friendly! I was very nervous to bring my car in for this issue as I had taken it in to two seprate dealers and they had both said "nothing wrong just a faulty check engine light". John took my 2014 Jeep Cherokee with a check engine light that kept coming on and turning off, diagnosed the problem with the oil sensor and within a day I got my car back. Very fast and reliable service! If my car gives me any trouble again I will be back! Thank you again!

Horrible experience. I was quoted 230 for a repair. I left my vehicle and was told "we will look at it and give you a call. The repair price jumped to over 600. I declined and only was then told it would be 160 for the diagnostic. I payed it expecting a detailed diagnosis for that high amount. After requesting it at the shop (was not prepared or offered) I received the same thing that auto zone told me already for free?!!! The part I was quoted was on the diagnostic but for some reason it was not fixed for the original quote. I paid 60 less for no repairs and a printout that I already had for free!! Do not go here!! Do NOT trust these dishonest people!! This was a total rip-off!!

I drop my 2011 Chevrolet impala off at the McGregor Automotive on last Friday 1-12-2024 I spoke with Mr. John he said he will call me once my car was checked out but never did I call to get a update on my car and it was ready yesterday on 1-16-2024 I just pick my car up today on 1-17-2024 I was so happy to have my car back today for my personal needs it's hard trying to get a ride anywhere and i didn't bother anyone. The only thing I dislike the mechanic have lost my rim key that I really need.

I was referred here by a friend who also owns an old car and have now had two repairs by them. These guys had my power steering fixed in one day, and I just left there with a brand new ignition cylinder in less than 36 hours. Cost of labor is extremely fair as well, which just sweetens the deal.

I brought my car in unexpectedly after running a curb and was scared it would be a lot to repair. It’s always nerve wracking to bring a car in being a woman and someone who doesn’t know a lot about cars. They were super nice and I actually ended up getting it repaired as it was a simple fix. I would definitely bring my car back in again if I had an issue. With me leaving back to Chicago soon, it was nice to know they made sure to check my car out before I was going to drive it off their lot! Def go to them if you’re considering repairs. I have used McGregor at least a couple of times before. They did provide quality service at a reasonable price. A year ago, I was told something would take a week, yet they had my vehicle 3 weeks. HOWEVER.... This time was just obsurd! I took my Jeep in for what appeared to be a blown head gasket on June 2, 2022. They would charge $2,800 while a Jeep dealership would charge $4000. After 4 days (June 7), I called to check on it. The person said (paraphrased) "It is being looked at now. We will call you when we have diagnosed it". 7 days later (11 since I dropped it off), I called again. The person said (paraphrased) "It is being looked at now. We will call you when we have diagnosed it". I said "You know, that's what you told me 7 days ago???". I was told they were short handed and had too much work. On July 5th, I was told it had been looked at and was a blown head gasket.On July 8th, I was in line to start work on Monday and should take a day to fix. July 19th, I finally got short with them on the phone (not rude). By the end of the call, I found out they had NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT IT! They suggested I just come and pick it up, to which I whole hardheartedly agreed! And after only a week, the Jeep dealership was able to tell me it needed a new engine. So I just went and bought a car... that I should've been able to buy a month prior, had McGregor not taken my car in when they were too backed up to do anything!

Mike, John, Jack and the crew are the best. My 2005 Chevy Crew is in here now again. They have never over sold me, never not fixed it right, never suggested to trade it in. With 325k miles it just needs some new organs to keep it going. The honesty here is so appreciated, I’ll never go anywhere else. 20+ years in the east Dallas area and they’re still going strong!

Jack is the best mechanic I have had so far. He is always honest and fair. He always gives me updates while work is being performed, and he actually takes the time to educate me on my vehicle. Give this man a raise. I highly recommend McGregor Automotive!

Mr. McGregor is a fair and honest mechanic, (came highly recommended by an old friend of over 50 years who is also an excellent mechanic himself-Jimmy Mcgee-, now retired). Mcgregor has done work for me on several occasions, of which I am very satisfied.
