1st time experience with Lowe's. Tire repair was quick and done correctly. When we picked it up they replaced the spare with the fixed tire and tucked the spare up under the vechicle. Fast, knowledgeable, friendly. I would recommend them to a friend.

Visited in April while on vacation from Canada. My Volvo had been diagnosed with a noisy rear diff. Your mechanic said it was probably my rear brakes. I finally got around to replacing them. You guys saved me a bunch of money! Good call. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Excellent service.

My family has been taking our vehicles to Lowe's for years. Mike and his team are honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy, which is why I continue to drive from NE Bradenton for any car needs my family has. Thank you for all the great work Lowe's Automotive!

They seem a little expensive but definitely know their stuff. They gave me a lot of good information on my car that I didn't know and have since confirmed it's true. It seems like all their techs have expert knowledge and they answer their phone each time I call which is a plus in itself.

These people are thorough and completely honest. When I go there with my 2004 Mazda RX8, I see classic cars in the lot, restored or preserved Corvettes, Jaguars, Mercedes, and others. They replaced the coils the first time I went there, and after several years, replaced my AC controller with a genuine Mazda part. I was happy to pay close to $1K not only because I couldn't drive it in the summer without AC but also because the replacement solved other problems, such as, my clock not keeping time, my dash controls for the radio and audio (for the cd player) not working. I put few miles on the car, but after over a year without an oil change, I scheduled one, but they were honest and said there were so few miles on the car that I did not need it. Totally professional, honest, and helpful.

They're real good here, best in town and maybe the state. They made my 1990 rx7 go braap braap braap perfectly.

Took my 19 year old rotary engine car that quit running to find out what was going on. They quickly assessed the problem, ordered the parts and fixed it quickly. Was only in their shop 2 days! Great service and competent repair personnel to work with. I'll go there again if I have any more issues or problems with my car. Definitely cheaper than taking it to the dealer! Thank you.

Unfortunately, our decision to rely on other reviews didn't go well this time. Our antique car is still leaking oil, and none of the bolts from the new engine were tightened. We encountered poor customer service, and after spending almost $8000 on "services fees," we're feeling quite disappointed. Just wanted to give others a heads up – be aware.

Great place!!! Honest, trustworthy, quality work. I trust them more than the dealership. Better job, better price. Mike and Brad are great, as are the others. As my car ages, they help me prioritize service needs. I have found through trial and error that their recommendations are on point.

Didn't use them but picked up a customers car from there. Let me say you can always tell how good a shop is by the value of the cars they work on and this shop had some very expensive collectable vehicles on lifts being worked on. My customer stated "this place has been the best and most honest place I have been to, could have sold me a dream but was honest and told me the vehicle wasn't worth fixing with all the problems it had."

Excellent customer service and quality work! I’ve taken my Porsche & BMW in a few times for various repairs and service, the team is always very accommodating and helpful. This is my go-to shop. Highly recommend!

I had a hard time finding someone to work on my specific foreign car that wasn’t a dealership. They are stayed in a good amount of communication, very skilled, and honest. They told me I didn’t need all of the work done that I had (unreasonably) diagnosed and expected I was needing. They saved me thousands and they gained a new happy and loyal customer 😊

I trusted Lowe’s on multiple cars and Brad and Paul have taken excellent care. Clear communication and accommodating, ive been treated like family or like I also work there. The whole team is very experienced, knowledgeable, professional, fair and honest, with competitive pricing. Thanks Lowe’s team!

I’m always surprised with Lowe’s Automotive, my car was leaking a bunch of oil and at the same time my serpentine belt was being shredded and my car needed attention ASAP. Brad told me I could drop it off Monday and they will look into it on Thursday since it was last minute. They started working on it the next day and got it back to me Wednesday. They even took the time to show me what was going wrong with my oil filter housing and how it leaked. Definitely recommend 10/10.

Mike & Jeremy Lowe are automotive gods (little g). No other shop in SRQ even comes close!

Feb 07, 2024

Overpriced , charges almost $200 for a hour of labor.

Feb 07, 2024

Owner and Brad always helpful. Great work. Reasonable prices.

Feb 07, 2024

Paul is absolutely amazing they brought my 89 Camaro back to life I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you guys did if you want quality work and experience go see Lowe's

Feb 07, 2024

Paul, the assistant manager, was as nice as could be. Zack, the mechanic, did everything on my vehicle's recommended maintenance checklist and explained/educated me as he worked. Exactly what I was looking for now that my warranty expired. They will be my shop from here on out! Was referred by a friend who used them and will refer others to them now that I see how good they are!

Feb 07, 2024

Won't be going back to this place. Went to see if they can do some work on the vehicle. Owner just had to much of a cocky attitude was abrupt with me, don't need this type of Attitude from anyone. Don't care how good you think you are as a mechanic. Especially after what was done previously below to my vehicle. (Previously) A bit pricey! Couldn't find the short in the wire, would cost me more for Mechanics to keep looking for short In harness. Bypassed looking for the short, ran a wire directly to the tachometer to make it work, over $400.00 to run one wire placed over (top) of engine. (Expected a more professional repair for $400.00 price.) Doesn't matter what the owner will respond to this review. Plenty of Mechanics that charge a lot for their services, except their not rude and cocky. Rather pay the Dealership not to have an attitude with a customer.

Always receive great service at Lowe's.

Everything was finished by the time they stated and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Good reliable service. We've taken cars there for years.

Great shop, amazing service! Really appreciate the help of Brad and the techs... just a few days before an upcoming trip, needed some engine service. Despite being scheduled several weeks out like so many shops these days, they were able to get us in, diagnosed and repaired before our trip. HUGE HELP and during a holiday week to boot. THANK YOU!

Feb 07, 2023

I got in right away and was out in a little over a hour. Excellent service. Very helpful .

Feb 07, 2023

If I could give a zero or negative rating, I would. Never go to this shop. To say I got taken to the cleaners, would be an understatement! My saga.......broke down an hour and a half from my home. Had the car towed to the Mercedes dealership. They performed the diagnostic and told me I needed a new axle, driveshaft and sensors. As the dealership always costs more, I had the car towed to Lowe's Auto which is not far from my house. I have taken my cars there before for regular maintenance. So for a job this big, I told them I trusted them to fix my car and thought I'd get a reasonable price. Well, I was charged close to $7,500 for the job @ $150/hr for labor. Not only did they tell me that I needed the items replaced that Mercedes had stated in their diagnosis, but also that I needed a new exhaust pipe and muffler along with a crankcase. I had no way of proving that the additional items were not needed. Nothing was wrong with the muffler ,exhaust etc.... per Mercedes. I had no choice to but to have them do all this work, which was a lot more than the dealer quote. Dealer never stated a muffler and exhaust or crankcase replacement in their diagnosis. Not only that and I know this may be trivial, they charge me for the oil change for $159. You'd think as a regular customer and after all this cost, they might throw that in. Now I have my car back and it rides badly. There is a strong vibration in idle, park and neutral. I told them I didn't have this issue before they "fixed" my car. They tell me they couldn't drive it before it arrived at their shop, so no way of me being able to prove the vibration didn't exist before. They state that I need to replace the engine mounts in order for the vibration to go away and that would be another $1,500 to $2,000. This is mind boggling to me. Almost $10,000 to fix a car whose book value may be $4,000. I am livid! They have taken the joy out of me driving my car. But I have stated the facts. Do NOT go to this shop They will rob you blindly and when you get the car back, it's in worse shape the before.

In need of an honest & thorough Auto repair shop I consulted the Herald Tribune reader poll, Lowe's Automotive Service was close & had good reviews, that was then & this is now! On my 1st visit I needed my A/C repaired for not blowing cold & losing freon gas, they preformed 2 tests & replaced the O rings at a cost of $450, they informed me a breather was missing from a valve cover, my arm was in a sling from recent surgery, they found the correct size installing it on my truck. They also added 2 quarts of trans fluid that wasn't needed, it ended up on my garage floor, charging another $74. On my next appointment it needed a heater core with hoses hooked up, that a previous owner had removed, they found cracked fuel hoses that they replaced. They checked & rerouted some wiring replaced an actuator & connector for a temp sensor. I was charged 2 1/2 hours labor @ $140 per hour for rerouting wires, that I wouldn't have a problem with if done by an ASE certified mechanic, not an apprentice. That bill came to $1101.42. For my next appointment a new service writer was in place, I've seen these "hotshots" before, sometimes they solicit the owner by stating, you won't pay my salary, I'll make my own salary, they do this by overcharging the customer, other times it's the owner's idea, stating to the service writer, you'll pay your own salary, you know how to do it, while the owner stays in the background. My next appointment was for some wires that were burned by the exhaust manifold, positive starter cable was replaced with new cable ends, the wires were rerouted with a new loom, a coolant overflow tank was installed that I supplied & a ground was added to the license plate light at a cost of $494.00. On my way home I noticed a problem with the brake light staying on & the brakes feeling soft. I called to return the truck but was told "we're jammed" & to wait a couple weeks. I took the truck in, this time requesting an estimate, twice to Brad & once to Summer to remind Brad, I became suspicious after not getting an estimate, online I googled industry wide standard fees for brake shoe & wheel cylinder replacement, KBB came up with the cost for a 1999 Tahoe as my 1981 Chevrolet C10 pickup was too old. The cost was $249 plus $75-$100 for 2 wheel cylinders. When I arrived to pick up the truck I was presented with a bill for $1140, that's when I got my phone showing KBB's industry wide standard for brake shoe & wheel cylinder replacement. Brad added they had to paint the drums as the fluid removed the paint & they would rust, I asked at a cost of $700-$800? Brad went back to the estimate removing 1 1/2 hours of time from the 6 1/2 hours he attempted to charge, dropping the bill to $889. for a $450 job. As I stated in the beginning, this is now, if you go there demand an estimate, it's a state law! Surreptitiously after backing my truck from the garage I notice black liquid coming from the rear wheel, what could be wrong after all the repairs, I took it for a ride, thinking it was liquid from them cleaning it. I put it back in the garage, checking it the next day, more liquid, this time I took it for a 80 mile ride, more liquid. I took it back, they determined it was the wheel bearing. I know the bearing can only be accessed by removing the drum, as when the brakes were replaced, did they damage the bearing, they wouldn't admit to it. I questioned Brad, his only response was "you drove it" Another bill, this time $659.08. You be the judge!

Stopped in with a problem in my Sirius radio that was not able to be solved in a two hour troubleshooting session with Sirius. Brad was able to fix it for me in just a few minutes. I had no appointment and he didn't even charge me for his time. I've had other services done there and have found all the personnel there helpful, polite and knowledgable. We were referred there by a couple of other neighbors. We're grateful to our neighbors for such a good tip!! Thanks again, Brad!
