I came in to see if they could diagnose my transmission issues and check life of battery with my Ford Edge. They said it would be $98 to diagnose and prob take 2 hrs until they could get to it bc they were busy. I was there 30 min and was about to call an uber, when they said they pulled the codes and it’s prob not worth fixing as it could cause more damage to old motor. Then he charged me 150 for just pulling codes and checking battery, which took them 15 min. They didn’t test drive it or give me a diagnosis that would warrant that amount being charged. I’ve been to other places that don’t charge for pulling codes or checking battery for 15-20 min. It was a ripoff to just hear my car is not worth fixing bc of age and value.

We had a leaky tire and we called to see if there was a wait to get it plugged and he said there was no wait to come on in. We were there for maybe five minutes total. They plugged the tire and filled it up for us. Everybody was so nice and very professional. I will definitely come back here.

Amazing service! I came in and had trouble with one of my tires after it was losing air but couldn't find the reason why. Called prior to arrival and took us right away for service. Danny was very kind, courteos and professional. He had the mechanic at the garage plug and fix my tire within a few minutes. The best service in the Tampa Bay area, and we will absolutely be using them for any auto issues if we ever have any moving forward and will recommended them to friends and family in the area.

Super honest and down-to-earth folks—definitely not something you see every day. I’ll 100% be back next time I need work done. Highly recommend!

Amazing service! I came in and had trouble with one of my tires after it was consistently losing air but couldn't find the reason why. Other tire places kept saying they couldn't plug it or patch it because it was a "run-flat" tire. However, my tire was not even a run-flat tire. I walked in here and the gentleman at the front had my tire plugged and fixed within about 15 minutes. Such amazing service and I will absolutely be using them for any auto issues I have moving forward and have recommended them to my friends and family in the area.

I had a nail in the tire that had drained air out of the tire. Took the car in and they fix it in under 20 minutes. They are now going to be my go to for car repairs. Nice to have such a great option in South Tampa! Def recommend!

Had a flat tire last week with our Mazda and called Lightning Auto Repair and Tires, they had it fixed within the hour and didn’t even charge me. Great service 10/10 would recommend and will go back for further maintenance with that kind of customer service!

Lightning Auto is most competent and HONEST business I have ever come across. My wife and I have used this company since 2020 for all of our auto needs and have received only the best work from all of the staff. They are awesome. This shop way overcharges it's customers. After paying an exorbitant price for some simple maintenance I realized that they also overcharged me in labor by quite a lot. My car was dropped off at approximately 9am and called stating it was done at 12:23pm. However the labor on the invoice adds up to over 8 hours of work. I've argued this clear error, but it is not an error - it is fraud. They refuse to see how dishonest this is. They state it's "book rate," which effectively means the amount they charge for labor is meaningless because they can charge you for more hours than they actually worked. Essentially, I got charged 1200$ for 3 hours of labor - effectively meaning they can make 400$/hr in labor which is astronomical as far as I am concerned. This is not to mention even that the cost of parts was substantially higher than it should have been - wheel hub was marked up 100% off of what I could have paid online on many sites. If you just need some simple maintenance - break pads, rotors, alignment, brake fluid - and are okay paying $2700+ for this, this shop can get you out in a few hours, much faster than the supposed "average mechanic" can.

I didn’t know where to bring my jeep so I searched Google for a shop near my home. Lightening had great reviews, so I thought I’d give them a chance since I’m new to the area. I am beyond satisfied with their customer service and work. They were very fast with repairing my car and always communicative with what they needed to do. I highly recommend them- you won’t be disappointed.

DO NOT COME!! Went in because i was having trouble starting my car and these guys told me that i needed a new battery & they wanted to check something else out, they tried to give me price quote of $460 for a new battery… i’m dumb but not that dumb lol, i called a friend to help me out because i know batteries don’t cost that much to change & we got the battery and alternator checked and there was NOTHING wrong with either… truly a shame that in times like this there are guys who are trying to take advantage of women. I’d recommend taking your business else where if you’re a woman & don’t have a lot of car knowledge.

Fair, timely and skilled shop. They have worked on a range of issues for both of our vehicles - from fixing sunroof drainage problems that other shops tried to repair and failed, to routine tire rotations and plugs. Highly recommend for any tire problems. Friendly staff and they were able to fit me in first thing Saturday. Had a slow leak in my tire, and they were able to find and fix the problem within an hour.

I can see why they have such good reviews! I brought my jeep in yesterday and the staff was really helpful. The guy at the front desk was straightforward and knowledgeable. They got my car fixed in literally a few hours, and it was very reasonably priced. I recommend them to anyone.

It might be the last honest and up-front auto shop left. When I first visited a few years ago, I took my car in for a flat tire. I was shocked when they said they plugged the tire and there would be no charge. I had never even spent a dime with them. Just a testament to the kind of honesty the people that run and work at this establishment operate with. Years later I have never take mine or my wife’s car anywhere else.

My 2015 Ram truck was having some electrical issues. The dealership was crazy expensive, and I didn’t want to take out a loan on the house (LOL!). Took it to these guys this morning. I was in and out in less than an hour, and it only cost $250! Many of their guys came from Firestone on Kennedy, where I used to take my vehicles. I like them a lot and will definitely be back!

These guys are great!! My tire was damaged from Helene with a big bolt from the debris. I barely made it to them with 10 psi. They took me in right away and had me in and out in 15 minutes. Highly recommend them. I used to drive by them and always saw the cool cars they work on. I am going back to have my antique car worked on. Thanks AJ and the team!!
