AVOID THIS KWIK KAR AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO LEAVE THE OIL CAP OFF & RUIN YOUR ALTERNATOR! Went to a different Kwik Kar because I was smelling a burning odor after getting an oil change here & then learned Garland Road LEFT MY OIL CAP LOOSE & OIL WAS GOING EVERYWHERE!!! Fast forward to now & my alternator is ruined & Kwik Kar Garland Road refuses to take an responsibility for their mishap. They argued & pretty much acted like we were stupid. HORRIBLE customer service. Also notice on EVERY negative review the owner responds with the same response & never acknowledges fault. The owner also has family members & other people write 5 star reviews to keep up their rating but DO NOT BE FOOLED with their ratings AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I had been going to this kwik kar for a few years now and have always been very pleased. I’m a younger woman and have had many experiences where car people try to screw me over and I kept coming back to this Kwik Kar because I NEVER once was upsold or anything. My coupons were always taken no matter what and I always received great customer service. HOWEVER, apparently they have changed owners in the last few months. I went in yesterday morning to get a quick oil change tire rotation because I had received an email coupon that ladies got $25 off only for that day. First, The AC must’ve been out or something was wrong in the waiting room because it was probably 95° and humid inside there. But no one warned me or apologize or really said anything about how hot it was in the waiting room so obviously my business was not that important to them. Second, when I went to pay, I showed my $25 off coupon and was then told that the previous owner/corporate sent that and they cannot honor that. I was told I could get $11 off, but that was it because the “$25 off coupon isn’t in their system”. I used to work in retail and have had many jobs where I had to use a POS system. I know for a fact that you can do a custom discount for a customer especially if the customer had a coupon for that day only and that was the reason they came in and the email coupon says the store location and the store names. I then went to Google and found a $25 off coupon on the Kwik Kar website And was told that they couldn’t use that coupon either because that wasn’t their specific website. Then the person who was checking me out, said they would go ask the manager. Keep in mind I also used to be a manager for a retail store and rule number one is to always make sure the customer is happy and do what’s best for the customer. I was then told to go to a different website to look for coupons and I was also being told at the same time that the best they could do was $11 off after the Manager was asked about it. I went to this website and found a $20 off coupon So obviously, they could and probably knew they could do better than the $11 off. They literally went back-and-forth with me for like 10 minutes about this when all they could’ve done is honored the $25 off coupon. They Seriously, could give me $20 off after I haggled them for 10 minutes, but they couldn’t just give me the $25 off that I had the coupon for? Pretty stupid if you ask me. Good job Kwik Kar You have lost my trust as a customer and my business now. I will gladly go to a different shop that will accept my coupons and not haggle with me about them. I also average getting oil changes about every three months so I’m glad the $5 You were haggling me about was more important than $150 I spend there almost every three months. Also, if the old owner/corporate Is sending coupons to your customers With your stores address and name And you won’t honor them you should probably reach out to them And let them know to stop sending coupons because I’m sure other people will be frustrated by this as well. Long story short car people are still out to screw over people, especially young women and this kwik kar just proved that!

Paid over $2,000 for work that would have been under $1,000 elsewhere, but I was there and needed the work done. They milked what they could and when it was time to pick up my car the leader could NOT wait 9 mins after closing to allow me to get my vehicle. I should have looked at the reviews. They also left my car so dirty.

I would strongly advise staying far away from this business. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After paying over $1,600 for repairs, my car is still not fixed, and the issues persist. The employees have openly admitted to hiring untrained, uncertified technicians who are performing unnecessary repairs on vehicles that don't even need them. Not only did I pay for work that wasn’t required, but the pricing is outrageous—clear price gouging that I feel I’ve been taken advantage of. I’ve tried multiple times to reach out to ownership to resolve the issue, but they’ve gone completely silent, offering no support or accountability. This company is beyond unprofessional and dishonest. It’s clear they are more interested in scamming people than providing legitimate service. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! There are far better, more trustworthy businesses out there.

Dishonest Practices and Misleading Advice Over the summer, I had a troubling experience with this shop. I initially went in for an alignment but was told by the mechanic that all four of my brake pads and rotors needed replacing—a job that would have cost $1,000. Unwilling to spend that amount, I opted to have just the brake pads replaced. At no point was the total cost for just the pads disclosed to me, leaving me blindsided by the final bill. The owner later reached out, resolved the issue, and I removed my initial review as promised. However, I’m revisiting this matter because I discovered a lie that doesn’t sit right with me. The mechanic insisted that all four rotors were in bad shape and needed immediate replacement. Trusting their assessment, I bought the parts and started replacing the rotors myself. I replaced the rear two over the summer, which indeed were worn out. However, this weekend, I finally got to the front rotors—only to find they were in perfect condition. They were smooth and free of ridges, with no signs of needing replacement. This shop has shown itself to be dishonest and seemingly willing to exploit customers who may not be familiar with car repairs. Their misrepresentation of my car’s condition cost me unnecessary time and money, and it’s clear they prioritize profit over honesty. I strongly urge anyone considering this shop to take their business elsewhere. Dishonesty like this has no place in an industry where trust is so critical.

I’m giving this place 5 stars solely because of Mike’s excellent service during my visit. Initially, I intended to rate it 1 star due to my first interaction. When I asked where to park for an inspection, an employee immediately told me, “Well, you need new brakes because I can hear it,” without even inspecting my car. I explained that my brakes had recently been replaced and asked for an inspection first before making assumptions. Thankfully, Mike handled it professionally. He confirmed that the issue wasn’t with my brakes (as I already knew, having been through inspections before). Mike also identified the real issue, something no one had pointed out before. Thank you, Mike, for your professionalism, thorough inspection, and knowledge. Your colleagues could learn a thing or two from you!

LAKEWOOD: This used to be a great place for auto services with past ownership. This is a sham operation now. I had (3) fan belts that needed to be replaced and was given a quote, 2 hrs. later they called and asked if I had the belts to be installed. REALLY? That was a big argument of contention and eventually they provided the belts and installed them. Two months later, I heard similar sounds and took the car to the dealership and to my surprise and disappointment, wrong belts installed. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! Hope someone else comes in and takes this place over and shapes it up.

Update November 2024: This place has had a change in ownership, and definitely for the worse. The business processes were worse, they got rid of the veteran discount, and the staff definitely seemed unhappy. Sadly, they tried to charge me $750+ for a battery that costs $150. I installed the battery myself instead. Two stars, because they did successfully change the oil! Old Review: Pat was an awesome person to interact with. They made the pricing clear up front, and fixed my issue quickly. Really appreciate their communication and skill. Will use them for future oil changes and many other issues that may come up in the future

ere’s an updated review incorporating the additional details: I’ve had a horrible experience with kwik Kar on Garland rd and would strongly caution anyone against using their services. I’ve brought my car in a total of four times now for the same issue, spending almost $2,000, and my car is in worse shape than before. The first three visits were frustrating enough—each time I was told the issue was fixed, only for the check engine light to come back on shortly after leaving. This last time, the car was shaking and making horrible noises, far worse than when I first brought it in. Despite this, they’re now telling me the codes the car is reading are the same ones they supposedly fixed on the previous visits. To make matters worse, I discovered my car had no oil during this most recent visit, even though I was charged for an oil change on the third visit. After I pointed this out, they claimed over the phone that the car was full of oil, which is impossible. This leads me to believe they hurriedly added oil after my car was towed in today to avoid taking responsibility for any damage caused to my engine. After the 4th and final visit with little to no communication from the team and me constantly having to call over and over to get feedback or see if it was ready for pick up, I picked up my car last night only for the check engine light to come right back on this morning. After calling and asking for all receipts of work done and for the owners information I was told they would be emailed and I’m still waiting….they also told me they couldn’t give me the owners info and that I needed to wait for him to reach out. This shop has cost me a significant amount of money, time, and stress, with no resolution in sight. If you value your car and your wallet, avoid this shop at all costs

I would recommend that you don't go here. I pulled up, asked for an oil change and went to wait. Of course they try to sell you new air filter, new cabin filter, brake flush, fuel flush etc... Which is totally normal. Just doing their job. What's not part of their job is putting full synthetic in my car without asking. As most of you know that nearly doubles the price of an oil change and quite frankly I didn't have the money for it. When I pulled up and asked for an oil change, the question should have been Conventional or Synthetic at the very least. The guy checking me out made it right with a discount, but beware of this location. Not sure if it was because I'm a woman or not and they thought they could take advantage, but I won't be going back here.

The team at Kwik Kar on garland rd is the best by far I’ve even seen. Brought my car in that was setting for 5 years they got it up in running in 3 hands down , the lobby is always clean and snacks are provided i highly recommend going to this Kwik Kar
