I cannot recommend Knapp auto more!! Robert owns this shop and is such a wonderful person with great character, in addition to being so knowledgeable about cars! As a single woman I get so nervous about taking my car places to get fixed, but Robert and his team were kind, generous, and caring! They really helped me out of a tricky situation and cared more about helping me than getting a profit (isn’t that unbelievable???). This place feels like a part of my community now and it will be the only place I will take my car in Dallas for as long as I live here! You will not regret coming here for any of your vehicle needs!!

Robert and his team are awesome. I brought my car to them after another shop tried to charge me over $1,000 for unnecessary repairs. Robert was honest, straightforward, and took the time to explain what actually needed to be done. They fixed my car quickly, and the cost was a fraction of what I was expecting based on the other place. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust, but Robert has earned a loyal customer. Highly recommend!

I honestly got a lot to say here. For 1 they had my vehicle for a little over half a year! While they had my vehicle I went to check on it multiple times without going inside as they had left it in the exact same spot I had it dropped off in. Every time I called for an update (they never called me once to inform me what was going on) I was told very vague answers and a date it might be ready and often times told they would call me back with no call back once. After about 3 months I was given an answer that the whole time they were putting all the electrical connections to the engine in the right spots as they had been put in the wrong connections. I myself put the engine in and can say if that was truly the case it should not have taken more then a week to get that done. Even if that were the case and it took them that long they then had my car for about another 4 months. In that time I had gone inside once saying I was simply towing it away and it’s been to long (mind you my car still hasn’t moved from the front of the shop). The front desk clerk said to me “are you sure we were fixing to have it done this next couple of days!” I was ecstatic to say the least! only to have waiting about another half month to a month. I also had asked if they could roll up one of my windows as it was just down with a garbage bag on it and I even told them that sometimes you have to input a code of sorts to reset the windows and they told me “well we just don’t wanna have to keep doing it back and fourth”. As a result of this and leaving my car in the wide open in front of there shop! My car has many missing things that were genuinely priceless to me! And I haven’t come to terms on weather or not I think they simply took my things or they just let my car get robbed cause clearly the window was wide open. On top of personal items missing! The key hole cover to my door was missing on pickup day, pieces to my handle on the inside of my door were missing. If I’m being honest I was really excited to give these people my vehicle as they had worked on another one of mine before and the service all the way done to the pricing was down right amazing! But after this I can safely say that I was most definitely screwed over only to have a car that still has a Christmas tree of lights on my dash and an engine that shakes like no other. I can understand to an extent due to the quality of what the engine I bought to put in was but it does not excuse everything else I had to endure aswell as the shape of my vehicle upon pickup. I would genuinely rate lower stars if I could!

First time customer, just picked up my suburban and couldn't be happier. Price for the service provided was excellent and the truck was ready by the time they quoted. Fixed my issue and then some. Highly recommend, I will be back again for sure.

I have to leave Dallas soon so y’all need to know this review is authentic. The owner is genuine. That means that you can trust that he will be honest. He will not charge for unnecessary work - in any way. I was stunned when he handed the keys back to me and said, have a nice day. I expected the bill to be at least 50% higher. (Honestly, I have zero trust in the dealer auto repair shops. And for good reason. They rip us all off, and all of you know it!). If you want genuine Texas service, Go to Knapp Auto repair in Dallas!

I'm pretty sure the mechanic here does something to your car so u have to keep coming back. Went for a radiator left with engine issues 1 I had a tune up 6 months ago now I need a new tune up because suddenly my coils bad. Also now my engine make this horrid sound.nit one check engine light was on when I took my car there now the check engine light blinks..iv never seen that.but after taking it back twice I'd say get someone else to fix your car.

Paid almost 500 to repair wheel hub and motor mount. Got it back worse than it was. Not sure if they did any repairs at all. My advice: take your business elsewhere or make sure you save your receipts from this place

These guys are great. Local guys who actually care about the people they work with. I got a new O2 sensor for my boss 302, which I don't just let anyone touch, and they did a flawless job at a better price than anywhere else in Dallas. Robert cares more about making sure things go well than making a dollar and you can tell by how popular his shop is despite not dropping a dime into a marketing budget. Just as a thanks I had to buy the shop a round of Dr. Peppers.... Wish there was more I could do!

GO HERE! These guys are the best. In a world of dishonest, self-obsessed, and mean people, Robert and the gang are a refreshing throwback to ethics and competence. As long as we are in Dallas, we will go to Knapp (but still root for our L.A. teams... Go Lakers, Go Kings Go).

Knapp Auto is the place to go for any automotive issues. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They want to get you back on the road. I took my truck here for an AC issue and they got me feeling like the polar bear in a Coca Cola commercial in no time. Robert told me about a few great hole in the wall restaurants around Dallas before I checked out. Knapp Auto is the real deal and I wont taking my vehicle anywhere else.

My 97 4Runner was vibrating like crazy. Took it to Knapp and told them I recently worked on the brakes. They honed in on that area and found out I over-adjusted one of the brakes. They fixed that and took time to look at other potential issues while under the truck. Really good people. I’ll take my business there from here on out.

When you go to Knapp you can leave your fear of being price-gouged or having a poor job done to your vehicle behind. The team here is honest, fair, and does a great job. Would recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic in the Lake Highlands or surrounding area!

Amazing hospitality and service from the team. I got to chat with the owner for a while as my car was looked at, and he just seems like a genuine guy. You can tell he put in a lot of love into this business and the amount of people that were stopping in for check-ins seemed like regulars- AND he knew all of their names! I was scared about the final pricing of repair since most shops tend to empty my wallet but this place had the best deal for my repair!!! I will be coming back for all my oil changes and future services 🥹🙏🏽

These guys are great. I had been trying for over a week to have a dead battery swapped in my dad's old Cadillac. I was in a dark, underground parking garage and the hood wouldn't stay open. Made several calls to Knapp to saying I was on my way, only to hit another snag with roadside assistance. When I finally made it yesterday they had me in and out in no time and didn't charge for their time. It was a great way to end a challenging ordeal. I observed others enter Knapp while I was there and they were all taken care of with courtesy and professionalism. They say an honest mechanic is hard to find, but I found one with a simple Google search at 6606 Northwest Highway.

Problems solved....after 9 mechanics, 2 dealerships in 2 states and over years of conflicting info with too much money spent...I found the best care and quality in an auto repair, bar none! Cannot tell you, how impressed I was by the friendliest staff and owner who made my waiting time fly by. Seeing their interactions with other customers was another testament to embracing everyone with the same attention and care. This is my new shop for my auto needs, and I suggest you make them yours!

The owner and staff were awesome! I actually enjoyed my wait (which wasn't long at all), since Robert made me feel comfortable and was very sociable. I explained to him the issues I was having with my car and he knew right away what was wrong. I had a radiator that had been poorly installed by someone other than themselves and they were able to reinstall it correctly. On top of that, their prices are very reasonable! I appreciate their honesty and will be coming back soon. I think I found my go to car shop and have already started recommending them to people I know. This was only my first experience with them, and I totally trust them!

Will never choose another mechanic again! They are super helpful and attentive here. My car had been in the shop in east Texas for over a month for an overheating issues, and the mechanic there said he couldn’t find anything wrong. I came back to dallas and took it to Knapp. Took him a few hours to identify and repair the issue. Got the car back next day and it drives great!
