I Never write reviews, but the way i got dragged through the mud with this service shop is wild... My 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee would not start due to mechanical failure. I knew a mechanic, that came over to my house and did some trouble shooting. Came out to be a bad starter. He ended up changing the starter and the car cranked for a while and then back to the same issue (Important for later). At this point i wanted to go to an actual dealership specific to my car. Found Hoover in Summerville. Got the car towed there after making an appointment. I then rented a car for transportation, hoping that i would hear something back from the shop withing a few days. Long story short, it took a month to hear any diagnosis. At this point i spent around 700$ on the rental just to be told that it is the starter that is bad. I told them in the beginning that i had already changed the part and it did not fix the problem. They gave me some spill about after market parts and they have the starter that's made for jeeps specifically. So they end up changing it for around 1800$. They said the car is now starting but they ran into a post with my jeep and they had to get body work done for free because it was their mistake. Finally after days i got the car back and i was able to drive away. Two days later the car would not start again. Had to get the car towed back to them and this time they said it was the whole engine that needed to be replaced ($11K). I asked about the almost 2K that i spent to get the starter replaced, and they told me that it couldn't be refunded because they did the work and they needed the car to start for them to see the bigger issue. (So i paid for them to troubleshoot?) not to mention i asked for the starter that i just changed so i could return it because i had just bought it. Somehow no one knew where it was. Ended up getting my jeep towed back without it being fixed. Worse experience with any car shop ever. Think twice before taking your car there, especially if you don't have warranty.

I had a disappointing experience with Hoover repair shop. They had my car for 8 days, starting from October 1, 2024. The service advisor initially mentioned that they needed 3 days to diagnose the issues with my SUV, so I agreed and had my vehicle towed to the shop. By Thursday evening, I contacted the service advisor and was informed that I needed wheel bearings on my passenger rear side, an alignment, oil change, and brake service. As the days went by, I was told that the technician didn't work on weekends and that my vehicle should be ready by Monday. However, when I didn't receive any updates by Monday, I left a voicemail stating that if my vehicle wasn't completed by the next day, I would be picking it up. The service advisor then left me a voicemail on Tuesday morning, stating that it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday. Frustrated with the delay, I requested to speak to a manager and explained the situation. The manager mentioned that he could have the SUV ready by Wednesday, but couldn't guarantee that all the work would be completed. I decided to have them only do the wheel bearings and alignment. I eventually picked up my car on Wednesday and was surprised to see a total charge of $1444.12, even with a 10% off coupon. This seemed exorbitant for just an alignment and wheel bearings. I felt that Hoover was overpriced and didn't prioritize their customers' time without a vehicle. I don't plan on returning to Hoover again.

Chris Celli was knowledgeable about our Jeep Wrangler, answered our questions, and made the buying process easy without making us feel pressured to buy. Would definitely go back to Hoover Summerville and Chris Celli.

Sent my car in Wednesday to fix the rattling noise i personally checked the water pump bearings are worn out at 20k miles on the car they “fixed” the issue and told me it was the exhaust hangars that was making the noise got it back late Friday evening and it’s still making the noise crystal was amazing at her job but whoever did the “work” on the car should be reconsidered

Our experience was very good. George our sales rep was very knowledgeable on any questions me and my wife had purchasing our vehicle all while still giving us our space we needed to go through the vehicle. Everyone in the dealership was very nice and respectful. The service department is very good as well. We had a 2015 jeep that another company messed up our oil pan by cross threading our drain plug and they fixed it for us at a very respectable price. Glad to find a dealership that takes care of their clients!

Although had issues at the start, once David started to take care of our vehicle we had excellent service. I really appreciated how after we expressed our frustrations, David took it seriously and took care of our car and gave us excellent advice! It goes a long way when companies can own up to mistakes and work to fix the issue promptly.

We had a great experience at the Hoover Service Department. Our Service Advisor was Clay. We came in for an oil change, and he recommended maintenance, since it had been a while. He was very good at his job and courteous. We checked out with Matt, who also was very nice. Definitely would go back again.

Be prepared to severely overpay. And to wait on your car for several days. $2700 their price vs. $875 for the exact same repair at NTB. No thanks Hoover.

I always by my vehicles and have them serviced here. Been that way for 20 years. Would not go anywhere else. No need to. Why fix something that's not broken. My service writer Clay always makes sure everything is done right.

No updates given while my car was in the shop from early Tuesday (8am) until Thursday after 5 pm. After being given the runaround for 2 days, I called the main number from the Jeep Website on Thursday. They contacted the dealership and I received a call an hour later that my car was ready to be picked up. On the day of pickup, my technician explained it was because he was out the day after my car went in for service. Apparently he is the only one in the entire service dept on Marymead drive who can give me information about my vehicle??? I picked up my car, they didn't do anything to fix the issue. Said they could not replicate it, I had asked for a tire rotation as well and to replace air in tires. It was not performed. My air pressure is displayed on my display. It was exactly the same when I picked up my vehicle. I am 1 pound off on each tire, 34, 35, 36, 37. I had asked that it be corrected so they all had the same pressure. It was exactly the same, still is, in the same spots. This used to be a good place for service, I've been going to them since they opened so I wouldn't have to travel all the way to the West Ashley dealership. I've bought 4 jeeps from Hoover and had 5 serviced there. I've never had such bad service. I will not be returning. Update.. I just read the response by Hoover. I did not speak to anyone in management on the premises. This was not resolved. Being told the condensation streaks on the inside of my windshield was from running my AC too high when I had already explained when I brought the car in, it was happening after it was sitting in the driveway overnight and it had been raining. The AC/defroster hadn't even been turned on yet. I did notice no phone number or name at the dealership was put on the response to try to speak with a human. So I'll just leave it at that with the kind of service that's happening there lately. It used to be a good place to buy a car and get services performed. Not so much now.

First time getting my car serviced. The staff is friendly and didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing what to do. Pull straight in to get service, no need to park first! Ha! Wait time on oil change/tire rotation was approximately an hour when not too busy. Worked great for me on a Friday morning!

Terrible service. I’ve been there twice now. Dropped off once for new tires, the change took twice as long as they quoted, so when I showed AFTER they said it would be done I still had to wait 3 hours, and had to ask for updates myself, was never checked in on or given updates. Today I tried to get an oil change in the express lane, with only one other car ahead of me and letting them know I’d be waiting there I expected they’d tell me if it would take a while. After not hearing anything for over an hour I went out to check on the status of my car. I had to find someone to help me, and then I find out my car hasn’t even been started! I asked to get my car back so I could get to work and all I got was my keys handed to me and a “sorry man”. I would not recommend any Mopar service center to anyone, this is not the first one I’ve had really unreasonable wait times with terrible service. I will not be back to this service center.

Today I went in for an oil change. I called ahead to be sure they weren't busy. In & out in less than an hour, time I spent in their comfortable waiting room with a free cold bottle of water (could have had coffee) & free snacks. I put my feet up & played a game on my phone. What I really like about Hoover's oil changes is that they sell them at a discount, if you buy 3 at a time. I always take advantage of these savings & feel righteous when I know I'm saving money on something essential that has to be done. Good job me & good job Hoover!

Was my first time at this Dealer Ship and Gary Elrod in the service depart was great to work with. This will be my Dealer in the future for my Ram Truck service for now on. Thanks Hoover Automotive. Good group of people.
