This place is amazing! I had taken my car here for yearly inspections many times, and they had always been so friendly and fast. I called them for a quote after receiving an outrageous quote from another shop in the neighborhood for some pretty simple maintenance. Hi Tech quoted me HALF of what the other shop did and had my car ready for pickup within three hours as promised. They even took the time to show me the old part and the brand of the new part used. I feel so relieved to know that I will never need to call around for service again as I know they will always provide the best quality work without price gouging. Thanks a bunch, Hi Tech team!

I was trying to sell my car. The prospective buyer requested a pre-purchase inspection. She found Hi-Tech Auto on Yelp, and they performed the inspection. Within 2 hours, including their lunch break, surprisingly, they discovered $5k worth of necessary repairs on $9k car running like a champion with no codes whatsoever. More than half of the items were hoses, which they claimed "looked good outside" but needed replacement after an internal inspection. They must specialize in hoses, I guess. Specifically, they inspected the turbo intake hose, vacuum hose, upper coolant hose, intercooler to throttle body hose, and transmission coolant hoses. As a car enthusiast for over 30 years, I've never encountered such an "efficient" mechanic. These guys are complete scammers, and I strongly advise against giving them any business. Their license should be revoked for the dishonesty they display, even in pre-purchase inspections.

This is the 2nd time I've been to Hi-Tech. I am a delivery driver and own two older vehicles that I rely on heavily, a 2013 Nissan Sentra and a 2006 Toyota Matrix. Hi-Tech has now worked on both my vehicles. The first time, Tech One Automotive on N. Burnet told me that my Nissan needed a whole new engine which I clearly couldn't afford. I towed my vehicle to Hi-Tech and Mr. Hussein, in person, tested my vehicle and told me it could be bad news. Later that day he called with good news. The engine was just very dirty, it needed a flush and a some spark plugs replaced, a new battery and it was good to go. The final bill was absolutely affordable! It's been close to a year since that incident and Tech One couldn't have been more wrong. My engine is still going strong. Mr. Hussein did say that I probably would need a new Catalytic Converter and he is right about that, the check engine light keeps coming on for that issue. Just last week, I heard a noise coming from my Toyota in the engine compartment area. The noise kept getting louder and scarier. I took it to High Tech and once again Mr. Hussein was there to solve the problem. The engine needed a new engine mount and he also recommended new tire struts. After he replaced the engine mount he said that it was driving amazing and would not need the tire struts right away! And it is driving amazing again and the final bill was very fair and honest. Long story short, you WILL NOT find a MORE HONEST mechanic than Mr. Hussein @ Hi-Tech Automotive. He doesn't care if you are rich or poor (I'm poor), he treats your car like a puzzle that needs to be solved and he doesn't fix what doesn't need fixing! I live in North Austin and I don't care that I'm 10 miles away from his South Congress location. I will gladly tow there if needed and I happily take Capital Metro bus back home knowing that my car is in good hands. Thank you Mr. Hussein, my Toyota Matrix is driving amazing after you fixed the engine mount. I very much appreciate your skill and your honesty.

Worst place to go to they try to scam people with the wrong quotes they gave me a quote around 6K. Apparently it was just a hose got it fix for $60.

Needed an inspection for my cadillac cts. Called in straight from the street. Got in and out in no time. 15 minutes or less. Efficient and helpful. Definitely recommend them to anyone that is in a hurry and needs to be in and out.

The service was okay, good even. I was getting an annual auto inspection. The front desk was inpatient, demeaning in her tone, and made the process harder than it needed to be. I don’t think I’ll return to this auto shop because of the way I felt I was treated.

HORRIBLE Customer Service! Our family has been going here for generations with positive experiences but things have gone down hill BAD. They hate pregnant women here, and will openly mock or say you are not pregnant. Feel like crying in their waiting room? They will happily provide this service for you! If you want good customer service as well as high quality work on your vehicles, highly recommend Rising Sun!

This review is for Mona. My family and I have been coming here for years. We'e always had a lot of trust in this company and the work that they do. But when I brought my car in for a scheduled inspection this morning, I ended up leaving in tears. They have a new-ish policy that prevents you from dropping off your car for the inspection, they want you to sit and wait, which is absolutely fine. The inspections don't take very long. However, I am pregnant and had not had a chance to eat that morning so I was planning on quickly running across the street to grab some food while my car was being looked at. I was told I needed to wait and I let my husband know via text that I was going to have to stay there. He got concerned because he knew I hadn't eaten and he called the front desk to ask about the change in policy and see if they would let me leave. After speaking to my husband, Mona came back into the room and started speaking very aggressively to me and accused me of faking my pregnancy to get special treatment. Here is the thing Mona, you are allowed to have policies and you are perfectly within your right to let your customers know about those policies. However, it is not okay to speak to anyone the way you spoke to me, especially considering I had already paid and given you my car keys. I ended up in tears, asking the owner to just give me my keys and let me leave. They quickly brought my keys out to me and I left without another word. I will not be returning. Now I know Mona, you will probably come on here and attempt to argue with me, as you do to anyone who leaves a negative review but the thing is my review isn't about your business. It's about you and your appalling behavior to a paying customer. I'd recommend you seriously examine how you conduct business. But regardless, it will never again be with me.

You’d be hard-pressed to find another mechanic as honest, fair, fast, and easy to work with as Hi-Tech Auto in all of Texas, maybe the United States. Chamis is one of the nicest people and they always complete top-quality service. I have a very close personal affinity for my vehicle, and they treat it as if it were their own. Additionally, this is the place to go in Austin if you need a mechanic to service a modified vehicle. Simply put, they are the BEST.
