I have been taking my car to Hitchcock Automotive for oil changes and for other issues that come up with an older automobile (I own a Mazda). Hitchcock has consistently provided excellent service. Their estimates are reasonable and the quality of the work second to none. While it is recommended to make an appointment, they usually take you the same or next day. I am glad I found them to service my car, being that I am relatively new to Sarasota. They service all brands and issues. I am very happy with their work!

HITCHCOCK AUTOMOTIVE on mcIntosh Road in Sarasota - by far the best repair shop and finest people I have had the pleasure of dealing with in a long, long time. Not only is the facility perfect in every way, clean, organized and comfortable, but Scott Sr., the owner, is a pleasant man to deal with and best of all, honest! We were very impressed with the repair, your courtesy toward us and pristine workshop. You can certainly tell you had a military background! I would give 10 stars! This is an industry where it can be extremely difficult to find a trustworthy repair shop - especially for a female who may not know that much about cars. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Scott the owner who took the time to listen to my concerns. They quickly diagnosed the issues and provided me a clear, honest estimate after throughly explaining what needed to be done. They didn’t try to sell me or push unnecessary extras. Hitchcock has earned my loyalty and is my new repair shop. So if you’re looking for a honest and reliable auto shop, Hitchcock is the place!

I’ve been looking all over town for someone to work on my 1999 Chevy Corvette. Someone referred me to go to Hitchcock automotive. They got me in right away and did an excellent job working on my Corvette. I have brought my Corvette into them several times now. They are always good about getting me in right away and being fair with the pricing.

I had previously had 4 new tires purchased and installed at Hitchcock Automotive Repair. At the time of new installation, I also paid for a road hazard policy to cover against tire damage caused by road debris and other hazards. While driving my wife ran over debris in the road which caused a puncture and complete failure of one of the tires. I spoke to Scott Hitchcock and informed him of the repair needed and I also told him that I was due for an oil change. As always with this great business all repairs were completed flawlessly. Even though this was an unplanned required repair, Scott was able to accommodate me and complete repairs in a very timely fashion. I have had more than a few automotive service companies over the years, but I wouldn't think of taking my car anywhere else. Service was fast, thorough, reasonably priced and perfectly completed. Trustworthy, Honest and Reliable. My sons car would not start and he was an hour away. I had no idea of what mechanic to use. Went to google tom find nearest shop. Saw the Hitchcock was rated 5 stars and owned by a US Marine. Gave Hitchcock a call and Scott arranged for a tow. Tow truck showed up within the hour . Scott diagnosed and repaired the car as promised. Thank you !

Forgive me as it has been some time since I was there, but about a month ago I was getting ready to head over to Orlando for work training from Sarasota. I pulled out of my driveway and my power steering was gone. I immediately drove to the only auto repair shop I have been to since living out here and they were too busy to help me. I started to google shops around me and Hitchcock Automotive came up. I made my way over and they had space and time to help me out right away. Scott Sr. (I believe was his name) was super kind (which I usually find uncommon as a woman looking to get her car fixed) and he reassured me it was an easy fix. The “o-ring” had completely broken a piece off and they got my car up and cleaned up and replaced the ring within 20-30 min. I expressed my thanks and asked how much I owed and he told me it was on them and not to worry about it. Believe me I was worried about it. I never know how much mechanics are going to charge me and I couldn’t believe he did all of that for free. It was probably an easy little fix for them, but it was a huge fix to my day and restored a part of my faith in kindness. Thank you guys seriously. You had no idea how helpful that was to me when I needed it. Many thanks and will be back for any future car troubles. I highly recommend making this your first stop with auto repairs. A trustworthy team, quality work, and a safe and clean space. 10/10 guys.

I can’t say enough about Hitchcock Automotive. I inherited a car from my late uncle. The running joke with BMWs is you have money if you have a new one. If you have an old one? You gotta be LOADED. Well, I am not. BUT Scott Sr. And Scott Jr. have been repairing and maintaining my 2000 BMW 323i since I inherited her a few years ago. First to go were the rear break lines. Rusted, the car was driven in New England. They are from IL originally so they KNOW how to work on a rusted car. So many mechanics down here in FL do not. Then, the water pump. BUT OF COURSE! It is a 2000s BMW. You know the water pump is gonna go eventually. Window regulators all replaced. They will check your tire pressure for you. I have also had AC work done. Regular maintenance. I just got new tires (I am thankful that the work has all been spread out. It is still less expensive than having a car payment). The waiting room is clean and does not smell like a mechanic shop at all. No greasy torn up leather sofas here. Grab a Fiji water from his mini fridge and use the Wi-Fi to get some work done if you are waiting. They also have a few loaner cars if the work is going to be extensive. His prices are reasonable and customary. If you want work done on the cheap, you get what you pay for. Thanks Scotts for keeping my car running and giving her back to me even if I don’t bring cookies. :)

I couldn't speak more highly of this family owned and operated shop! They were honest, reasonable, good people. I will be recommending them to everyone I know! I came in with a muffler issue, they could have looked at me and assumed they could make some good money off of me by telling me I needed an all new muffler installed. Instead they brought me into the garage showed me the exact problem along with their recommendation and were able to easily fix the problem with very little cost to me. Five stars 🌟 Thank you for being one of the good ones!!

I was looking for a good auto repair shop for my Lexus when I found Hitchcock Automotive mentioned several times on Next Door. I called and brought my car in with a list of items that needed to be repaired and asked if they would give me an estimate. While I waited, they looked the car over , gave me a very good price on the repairs and offered to do the work that day or the next, based on my convenience. I am very happy with the work that was done on my car and quite impressed with the customer service of Hitchcock Automotive. What a great find! Just an update to my last review because I know people are always looking for a good auto mechanic. My husband and I have used Hitchcock Automotive several times now for my Lexus RX 350 and his Jeep and we are extremely happy with their service. Scott, the owner, is just great! He runs a very efficient shop where the work is done on time and in line with the estimate. We have never had to bring anything back for an adjustment. Scott explains what needs to be done and , just as importantly, what doesn’t need to be done. When we bring our cars in for service, we know that the work will be done correctly and that we will be treated in a professional and courteous manner.
